The purposes of this study are to review research trends of applied geography field, to retrospect geographical works done by Korean geographers in applied geography, and to prospect the future of applied geography. We are in the period where societal problems such as energy, transportation, pollution, environment, health care, and many others, require careful consideration and need throughout strategies for solution. Most societal problems have some geographical dimensions. Because these problems are geographic in nature, there is an obvious implication that geography as a discipline has something to offer in their solutions. In fact, most geographic problems are best presented and analyzed through the applications of geographic theories, concepts and tools. Applied geography is a branch of general geography. It relies on the scientific methods and uses the principles and methods of pure geography. However applied geography is different in that it analyzes and evaluates real world action and planning and seeks to implement and manipulate environmental and spatial realities. Thus, geographic theories and other social theories that have geographic dimensions are fundamental to applied geography. Applied geography has a short history as theme in Korean geography. During the last two decades. Korea achieved remarkable economic growth. We have also encountered widening regional disparity, housing shortage of larger cities, transportation congestion, environmental pollution and many other problems. Applied geographers have tried to analyze and solve such spatial problems during the last 30 years. The research trend of Korean applied geography can be subdivided into 5 categories: (1) land use analysis and efficient utilization, (2) national physical development and planning. (3) regional development and regional planning, (4) tourism and location-allocation, transportation planning. Still the overconcentration of Seoul metropolitan region and unbalanced regional development are perceived to be the serious spatial problems which may induce more works to solve these problems. In Korea new emphasis has to be given to some professional training and experimental learning, including methodology, field techniques data management, statistical analysis, cartography, GIS, and other tools, as applicable and beneficial to problem solving in real world. The growth of applied geography depends on new insights and purposed solutions of future applied geographers in Korea. Applied geographers will contribute to the creation of future Korean geographies.
The purpose of this study is to theoretically explore symbol didactic, which serves as a mediator and integrator of human experience with biblical experience. Based on a deep consideration of the functions and roles of symbols, as studied in psychology, philosophy, religious studies, and theology, this study aims to examine representative theories of Bible didactic that have introduced symbolic action into Christian education. By exploring these theories, we aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of the role of symbols in Christian education and their impact on the learning process. This study is divided into two main parts. In the first half, it examines the meanings of symbols and their functions as discussed by prominent scholars from various disciplines who have paid attention to symbols, including S. Freud and C. Jung in psychoanalysis, E. Cassirer and P. Ricoeur in philosophy, M. Eliade in religious studies, and P. Tillich in theology. In the second half, the study critically analyzes and discusses representative theories of symbol didactic, such as those proposed by H. Halbfas and P. Biehl, which have applied the symbolic action of neighboring disciplines to Christian education. Symbol didactic differs from traditional biblical didactic, which aims to transmit content, by using symbols as a medium to facilitate dialogue between the learner's experiences and those of the Bible. This approach enables learners to experience the deep relationship between the content of the Bible and the experiences of biblical figures with their own experiences, and provides an opportunity to deepen that experience.

This paper suggests an optimal identification method for complex and nonlinear system modeling that is based on Fuzzy-Neural Networks(FNN). The proposed Hybrid Identification Algorithm is based on Yamakawa's FNN and uses the simplified inference as fuzzy inference method and Error Back Propagation Algorithm as learning rule. In this paper, the FNN modeling implements parameter identification using HCM algorithm and hybrid structure combined with two types of optimization theories for nonlinear systems. We use a HCM(Hard C-Means) clustering algorithm to find initial apexes of membership function. The parameters such as apexes of membership functions, learning rates, and momentum coefficients are adjusted using hybrid algorithm. The proposed hybrid identification algorithm is carried out using both a genetic algorithm and the improved complex method. Also, an aggregated objective function(performance index) with weighting factor is introduced to achieve a sound balance between approximation and generalization abilities of the model. According to the selection and adjustment of a weighting factor of an aggregate objective function which depends on the number of data and a certain degree of nonlinearity(distribution of I/O data), we show that it is available and effective to design an optimal FNN model structure with mutual balance and dependency between approximation and generalization abilities. To evaluate the performance of the proposed model, we use the time series data for gas furnace, the data of sewage treatment process and traffic route choice process.

In this study, the difficulties experienced by secondary preservice science teachers in studying the theory of science education for teacher selection test were studied. At first, questions of the internet cafe for preparing the teacher selection test from January 2008 to June 2009 were analyzed in terms of content area. A survey was also administered to 39 preservice science teachers who took the teacher selection test. The rubric used in this study was developed by the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation and the Korean Association for Science Education. As a result, the most frequent question areas were 'philosophy and history of science' and 'theories and models of teaching and learning science'. In the survey with the preservice science teachers, the most difficult content area was the philosophy of science. The application of teaching and learning model was also one of the most difficult areas. Based on these results, educational implications were discussed.

Job satisfaction is prime part of construction workers and firm organization in relationto productivity. And studied with past thesises and theories, Job satisfaction is connected with self -realization. If firms apply to self-relization management, Job satisfaction enlarge to maximization, also productivity. If firms manage theirselves with five elements of 1.achievement 2.education and learning organization 3. interesting on work 4.creation on work 5. social recognition they effect in their organization and each worker.
The aim of this study was to investigate how the psychological factors of human interrelation or human socialization are associated with the visual design based on sociological and psychological theories. To accomplish this goal, human socialization was examined on the basis of physiology, philosophy, and psychology. Then a case study was employed to assess how they function in the area of visual design. In literature, the sources of psychological factors of human socialization were categorized into 11 items including the sexual hedonic pursuit. These items were used for the evaluation of 40 printed media advertisements, all of which were the winners of the Korea Advertising Awards from 1994 to 2003. As a result, it was revealed that most advertisements responded to the items of adaptive value and cultural imprinting as biological bases. Also, it was discovered that the existential foundation of advertising has been based on mutual distrust and the payoff matrix as a mind of social unrest. In conclusions, it was illustrated that future advertising will remain based on adaptive value, cultural imprinting, social learning, and imitation learning, as long as advertising continue to hold its reason for existence.

Despite their importance in language, there have been relatively few computational studies in understanding words. This paper describes how neural networks can learn to perceive and produce words. Most traditional linguistic theories presuppose abstract underlying representations (UR) and a set of explicit rules to obtain the surface realization. There are, however, a number of questions that can be raised regarding this approach: (1) assumption of URs, (2) formation of rules, and (3) interaction of rules. In this paper, it is hypothesized that rules would emerge as the generalizations the network abstracts in the process of learning to associate forms with meanings of the words. Employing a simple recurrent network, a series of simulations on different types of morphophonemic processes was run. The results of the simulations show that this network is capable of learning to perceive whether words are in basic from or in inflected form, given only forms, and to produce words in the right form, given arbitrary meanings, this eliminating the need for presupposing abstract URs and rules.
In this paper, we designed and implemented a client/server distributed environment and developed a web-based virtual laboratory system for electronic circuits. Since our virtual laboratory system is implemented to describe the on-campus laboratory, the learners can obtain similar experimental data through it. The proposed virtual laboratory system is composed of four important components : Principle Classroom, Virtual Experiment Classroom, Evaluation Classroom and Overall Management System. Through our virtual laboratory, the learners will be capable of learning the concepts and theories related to electronic circuit experiments and how to operate the experimental equipments such as multimeters, function generators, digital oscilloscopes and DC power supplies. Also, every experimental activity occurred in our virtual laboratory is recorded on database and printed out on the preliminary report form. All of these can be achieved by the aid of the Management System. The database connectivity on the web is made by PHP and the virtual labol'atory environment is set up slightly differently for each learner. Finally, we have obtained several affirmative effects such as reducing the total experimental hours and the damage rate for experimental equipments and increasing learning efficiencies as well as faculty productivity.
Although the constructivistic instruction is emphasized in these days, many teachers feel burden to implement their teaching based on constructivistic teaming theory. As the main reason for this, difficulty to find out effective materials which can be utilized in the constructivistic instruction can be argued. According to recent studios, effectiveness of online games as the educational material was proven. Based on this result, the possibility for utilizing online games as effective educational materials in the constructivistic instruction was discussed in this study. For this, total process for the business strategy lecture implemented to 50 students in Chung-Ang univ. during 9 months by utilizing an online game named 'Goonzu' was reviewed by the perspective of constructivistic teaming theories. As a result of this review, it was proven that constructivistic methodologies were applied effectively in that lecture. Based on this, the possibility of utilizing online games as the effective material in the constructivistic teaming activity is discussed in this study.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the determinants of new product diffusion. We seek to document and explain systematic features of product diffusion. In this essay, we examine the well-documented empirical regularity that the speed of diffusion has accelerated during the twentieth century. The empirical results show that the main source of acceleration are faster declines in prices. Faster price declines make the product affordable to more consumers within a given period of time. Based on theories of intertemporal price discrimination and learning-by-doing, the association between the speed of adoption and the speed of price decline was explained. Faster price declines are attributed to several product characteristics as well as changes in income distribution. Above all, the introduction of consumer electronic products in more recent years can be regarded as the most important factor in accelerating price declines. Consumer electronic products are technologically different from non-electronic goods, in that semiconductors are important components. As the price of semiconductors has dropped rapidly, the falling production costs can be rapidly incorporated to the price of consumer electronic goods. Furthermore, most of the recently introduced consumer electronic products have network externalities, and many products with network externalities require complementary products. A complementary product becomes more readily or cheaply available as more people have the main product. One major difference between previous studies and this study is that the former focuses only on the factors that operate directly on the speed of adoption, while this study incorporated factors that work through price changes as well as the factors that work directly on the speed of adoption.
