This study investigates significant factors in mathematical learning and examines the inter-grade and gender-based differences of elementary students. Five factors that are counted to affect the view of mathematical learning are (1) confidence, (2) utility, (3) aversion, (4) practical ability, and (5) traditional view of mathematical learning. The factor analyses on third graders and sixth graders each illustrate the features of inter-grade factors. The result also indicates that the factors may vary depending on the traits and circumstances of students surveyed. Third graders are more likely to be positive compared to sixth graders in terms of confidence and practical ability, which calls for implementing 'doing mathematics' and reinforcing the method of mathematical learning in the general educational field.

The purpose of this study is to understand the effects of simulation-based practice education on critical thinking disposition, clinical performance ability, and self-confidence. Using the method of one-group pretest-posttest experimental research, this study selected total 70 nursing students (3rd year) as research subjects. The final research subjects were total 63 students excluding seven people with insufficient responses. From March to April 2023, total eight sessions of simulation practice education (4 hours per session) were conducted once a week. In the effects of the program, the critical thinking disposition, clinical performance ability, and self-confidence were measured. Using the SPSS Window Version 25.0, the critical thinking disposition, clinical performance ability, and self-confidence were analyzed through the mean, standard deviation, and paired t-test. In the results of this study, the critical thinking disposition (t=-10.61, p<.001), clinical performance ability (t=-3.06, p=.003), and self-confidence (t=-15.97, p<.001) were statistically significant. In the results of analyzing the correlations of clinical performance ability, and self-confidence after the simulation practice education, the learning satisfaction showed significantly positive correlation with immersion (r= .647, p<.001). The results of this study verified the improvement of critical thinking disposition, clinical performance ability, and self-confidence of nursing students after the simulation-based practice education. Thus, it would be necessary to develop the educational contents for various subjects, and also to expansively apply the simulation practice education.

Purpose: This study was done to identify learning experiences and self-confidence and to analyze nursing students' self-confidence according to learning experiences for core nursing skills (CNS). Method: Participants were 502 final year nursing students. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and t-test. Results: Over 60% of participants had practiced 15 items of the 24 CNS in the basic nursing lab (BNL). In clinical practice (CP), they had practiced five items but experienced only one item in a simulation lab (SL). Items with the highest confidence level were vital signs (4.69) followed by blood sugar test (4.60), pulse oximeter (4.38), and oral medication (4.12). Items with the lowest confidence level were blood transfusion (2.17) followed by enema (2.64) and indwelling catheterization (2.67). The group with CNS experience in the practice curriculum was generally more confident than the group with no experience. Self-confidences in some skills was significantly different depending on availability of SL, credits for BNL and CP, and presence of preceptors. Conclusion: Results indicate a need to develop practice education strategies such as changing the CP to practice-centered learning with preceptors and including well-designed SL to increase confidence of nursing students.
The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing confidence in performing core basic nursing skills(CBNS) for low-grade nursing students. The data were collected from 213 nursing students from one nursing college located in G do from November 25 to December 4, 2020. Data were analyed by frequencies, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, multiple regression using SPSS 21.0. Differences in confidence in performing CBNS according to general characteristics were university life satisfaction, practical satisfaction, academic achievement, and interpersonal relationship. Confidence in performing CBNS was significant positive correlation with self-efficacy, major satisfaction, and learning attitude. The factors influencing confidence in performing CBNS were self-efficacy and learning attitude, and explanatory power was 32.5%. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop learning strategies and educational programs and verify the effectiveness of lower class nursing students to increse their confidence in performing CBNS.
The current study aimed to find the relationship between attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction (ARCS) learning motivation and class effectiveness inherent in problem-based learning (PBL) classes designed for dental and nursing students. Seventy-nine participants responded to survey items for motivation and class effectiveness after completion of their classes. The study findings were as follows. First, the differences among the $dental^{**}$, $clinical^{**}$, and $nursing^{**}$ PBL classes were identified in terms of class effectiveness (F=3.63, p<0.05) and academic achievement (F=13.9, p<0.01). Second, three learning motivation factors-satisfaction (t=4.07, p<0.01), confidence (t=2.84, p=0.01), and relevance (t=2.96, p<0.01)-appeared to determine class effectiveness in the abovementioned order. Only attention (t=2.02, p=0.05) was significantly related to academic achievement. Third, the relationship between hours of learner contribution to the PBL tasks and academic achievement was statistically significant. Therefore, we suggest the incorporation of ARCS motivation factors in PBL classes on the basis of the characteristics of each major and grade.
The problem of poor learning has been a subject that has been constantly raised in the educational field since the mid 20th century. Therefore, this study classified the components of self - regulated learning into cognitive - control, motive - control, and behavior - control strategies, and examined the effects of self - regulated learning on internal value, self - efficacy, curiosity, and self - confidence. The study was conducted on university students who participated in the program for the study of depression in A university in Changwon city. The results showed that self - regulated learning factors had a positive effect on learning motivation. Second, the learning adjustment factors have a positive effect on self - efficacy. Finally, learning control factors have a positive effect on curiosity and self - confidence. Through this study, we confirmed that a comprehensive guidance system considering interaction is needed because various factors act integrally in the learning process. As a concrete method, it is imperative to develop a learning counseling program that can enhance the motivation level by referring to cognitive, synchronous, and behavioral factors.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of team-based learning on the practice of nursing practice and the effects of nursing students' meta-cognition, academic achievement, confidence in performance, self-confidence and learning satisfaction. The subjects of this study were 115 students who wanted to participate in the research in the second grade of Nursing Department of G region. The data collection period was from March 6 to June 5, 2017. The data were analyzed independence t-test and one-way ANOVA by using the SPSS 21.0 program and paired t-test for the effects of variables after the experiment, and Pearson's correlation coefficient for the correlation between the variables. The results showed that meta-cognition and the confidence in performance of team-based learning was not only increased but also statistically significant. Academic achievement was moderate, learning satisfaction was high, and meta-cognition was positively correlated with learning satisfaction. Therefore, based on the results of this study, it is necessary to activate the application of self-directed and active learning method in order to improve the nursing practice ability required in nursing field.

In this research, we applied a problem-based learning(PBL) method for one semester, and measured critical thinking disposition, self efficacy for group work and self confidence of nursing process of Nursing Process and Critical Thinking subjects before and after application. This research is one group pre-test and post-test design. The subjects of this study were collected using an online questionnaire for second-year nursing students located in G city, and 108 students participated in the final. The result of this research showed that critical thinking disposition(p=.000), self efficacy for group work(p=.003) and self confidence of nursing process(p=.000) increased statistically significantly after problem-based learning(PBL). This findings indicate that problem-based learning(PBL) is effective in improving critical thinking disposition, self efficacy for group work and self confidence of nursing process. Therefore, If problem-oriented learning (PBL) is expanded and applied to nursing education, it is believed that it will be effective in enhancing the core competencies of nursing students.
This study was conducted to examine the correlations between recognition of the importance, self-directed learning ability(SDLA), and confidence in performance regarding basic nursing skills, and to identify the influencing factors on confidence in performing the basic nursing skills in nursing students. Data were collected from 171 nursing students from December 18 to 22, 2017. Data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Confidence in performance of basic nursing skills showed significant positive correlations with SDLA and recognition of importance. SDLA, practice attitude, and recognition of importance, and grade in last semester accounted for 32% of the variance, were significant predictors influencing confidence in performance of basic nursing skills. Thus, various educational strategies are necessary to improve SDLA, practice attitude and recognition of importance in order to increase the confidence of nursing students in performance of basic nursing.
