Purpose: This study was done to identify self-directed learning readiness, achievement goal orientations, learning satisfaction and learning achievement, and to evaluate the factors affecting learning achievement for nursing students using a web-based Health Assessment e-Book. Methods: The research design was a cross-sectional study with a structured questionnaire and data were collected before using the web-based Health Assessment e-Book and 1 week after finishing. The participants were 80 nursing students who were taking the Health Assessment class from March to June 2009. Results: Mean score for subjective learning achievement was 31.26 and for objective learning achievement, 69.25. Subjective and objective learning achievement were positively correlated with self-directed learning readiness, mastery goal, attitude toward distance education, and learning satisfaction. In subjective learning achievement, learning satisfaction and mastery goal were significant predictive factors and explained 64% of the variance. Objective learning achievement was significantly predicted by learning satisfaction and self-directed learning readiness, which explained 24% of the variance. Conclusion: Learning satisfaction, mastery goal and self-directed learning readiness were found to be very important factors associated with learning achievement for nursing students using a web-based Health Assessment e-Book. To provide high quality and effective web-based courses and to improve nursing students' learning achievement and learning satisfaction, educators should consider the learner's characteristics from the initial stages of lecture planning.
Embracing the important roles of presence, this study focused on exploring how to enhance online learners' learning engagement and learning achievement in distance higher education settings. More specifically, this study examined the structural relationships among university students' teaching presence, social presence, learning engagement, and perceived learning achievement in online learning environments using structural equation modeling. Data were collected from 206 university students enrolled in online courses in the second semester of 2020 at two large universities. According to the results of the data analysis, there was a significant relationship between teaching and social presence. Teaching presence and social presence predicted learning engagement that positively affected perceived learning achievement. Teaching presence was strongly associated with perceived learning achievement while social presence had a negative impact on that. Additionally, learning engagement had a mediating effect on the relationship between teaching presence and perceived learning achievement. This study found that students who perceived higher levels of teaching and social presences tend to more engage in learning, leading to perceiving better learning achievement. The findings suggest that the design, development, and implementation of effective online instruction should be needed to promote learning engagement, which can be linked to enhancing students' learning achievement. Implications and discussion are addressed in this article.
This study intended to find out an efficient teaching-learning method by identifying the effect of achievement goal directivity and self-regulated learning strategy on the level of learning achievement in class. This study analyzed the relationship between the achievement goal directivity and the average and standard deviation of self-regulated learning strategy as well as the relationship between the achievement goal directivity and the learning achievement of self-regulated learning strategy and also analyzed the effect of achievement goal directivity and self-regulated learning strategy on the level of learning achievement, based on the result of survey targeting 133 university students attending the Department of Social Welfare. The findings show that the higher the tendency of achievement goal directivity and self-regulated learning ability, the higher the academic performance, which means that it is necessary to resolve any anxiety through motivation control training and mentoring learning for academic achievement of students and inducing their proactive participation in class.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between learning strategies and cognitive learning abilities with achievement scores of elementary school children. To achieve this purpose, 109 sixth grade children were sampled in Seoul-City, and the 'Questionnaire on the Learning Strategies and Learning Abilities Test' were administered to them. The collected data were analyzed by Pearson's Product Moment Correlation and Multiple Regression Analysis. The major findings of this study were as follows: Firstly, there appeared to be statistically significant correlations between learning strategies and achievement scores. The process of thinking variable of learning strategies were most significantly correlated with achievement scores(r=.251- .458, p<.01). The calculated R2 indicated that the combined effects of process of thinhng and affective domain on the achievement scores were about 21.5%. Secondly, there appeared to be statistically significant correlations between cognitive learning abilities and achievement scores. The verbal reasoning and verbal comprehension variable of cognitive learning abilities were most significantly correlated with achievement scores(r=.215-,493, p<.01). The calculated R2 indicated that the verbal reasoning and verbal comprehension variable of cognitive learning abilities explained about 27.6% of the variance of achievement scores. Thirdly, there appeared to be no statistically significant correlations between learning strategies and cognitive learning abilities. The results of this study shows that the development of learning strategies and cognitive learning abilities could improve the achievement scores in school learning.
The purpose of this study is to measure the impact of motivation on academic achievement and satisfaction of adult learners in an e-Learning environment, and to come up with strategies to improve the effectiveness of e-Learning for adult learners. In order to find answer, devices were developed, tested for validity and reliability, and use for testing variables for 289 adult learners. To measure the impact of achievement motivation on learning in job training, a multiple regression analysis was performed. The analysis results show that achievement motivation has an impact on academic achievement with significance level .001, but does not have an impact on a learner's satisfaction. Further analyses on the subcategories of achievement motivation show that individual-oriented motivation affects achievement with significance level of .001, while social-oriented motivation does not. From this finding, some strategies to boost individual-oriented motivation are suggested to enhance effectiveness of job training in e-Learning environment. Further strategies to boost individual-oriented motivation should be developed by studying various aspects of e-Learning such as learning environments, learning culture, learning modes and methods, and evaluation.
Purpose: The study investigated the effects of self-directed learning, learning flow, and academic self-efficacy variables on academic achievement. Methods: This is a descriptive correlation study to understand the effects of self-directed learning, learning flow, and academic self-efficacy on academic achievement. Results: There is a significant positive correlation between the participants' self-directed learning, learning flow, academic achievement, and academic self-efficacy. Self-directed learning and learning flow influenced academic achievement, while academic self-efficacy was found to have a partial mediating effect. As indicated above, academic self-efficacy and self-directed learning were significant predictors of academic achievement. Conclusion: The study results can be used as basic data to conduct future studies. Furthermore, results can inform the development of educational programs that enhance self-directed learning, learning flow, and academic self-efficacy to improve students' academic achievement in the department of emergency technology.

The purpose of the present study is to explain the effects of academic self-efficacy, self-regulated learning and online task value on academic achievement and learning transfer in corporate cyber education. 202 students who completed S corporate's cyber courses in 2007 and responded to all survey participated in this study. A hypothetical model was proposed, which was composed of academic self-efficacy, online task value and self-regulated learning factors as prediction variables, and learning transfer as well as academic achievement factors as outcome variables. The results of this study through regression analysis as follows. First, learners' academic self-efficacy, self-regulated learning and online task value predict learners' academic achievement significantly. Second, except for academic self-efficacy, learners' self-regulated learning and online task value predict on learners' learning transfer significantly. Third, academic achievement plays a role as mediating value in predicting academic achievement by online task. It implies that learners' academic self-efficacy, online task value and self-regulated learning which predict learners' academic achievement and learning transfer should be considered in developing strategies for the design and operation of cyber courses.
Background: To investigate the mediating effect of learning flow in the relationship between blended learning achievement and learning satisfaction in dental hygiene students, and to identify whether face-to-face studies should be substituted with non-face-to-face studies. Methods: Total 134 dental hygiene students, who underwent blended learning in the dental hygiene class during the first semester of 2021, were recruited. The research tools were blended learning achievement, learning flow, and learning satisfaction, comprising 15 questions in total. Mediation regression analysis was used to analyze the mediating effect of learning flow in the relationship between learning achievement and learning satisfaction, and that between each variable. Results: Learning flow and learning satisfaction (r=0.490, p<0.001) were positively interrelated, and the interrelation between variables was statistically significant. Class environment had the biggest effect as a subfactor of class achievement, and it appeared to have an effect on class attitude and learning motive. The effect of learning flow on learning satisfaction was statistically significant. Learning flow was partially mediated by both blended learning achievement and learning satisfaction. Learning flow was directly related to blended learning satisfaction and learning achievement. Conclusion: The results showed the possible use of blended learning in dental hygiene theory and practical subjects.
Purpose: This study aimed to identify the mediating effect of learning flow and the moderated mediation effect of digital literacy on the effect of the learning presence of non-face-to-face class experience in nursing students on academic achievement. Methods: Participants were 272 nursing students from six universities in two different cities. A self-report questionnaire was used to measure learning presence, learning flow, digital literacy, and academic achievement. Analysis was performed using SPSS 26.0 and SPSS PROCESS Macro (4.0). Results: The mediating effect of learning flow on the effect of learning presence on academic achievement was 0.42, and the moderated mediation index of digital literacy was 0.17. Learning flow showed a mediating effect on the relationship between learning presence and academic achievement. Digital literacy had a moderated mediation effect on the relationship between learning presence and academic achievement that was mediated by learning flow. Conclusion: The intensity of the mediating effect of nursing students' learning presence on academic achievement through learning flow increases as the level of digital literacy increases. These results suggest that educational programs considering the level of learning presence, learning flow, and digital literacy are required to promote the academic achievement of nursing college students.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating effect of learners' learning flow in the effect of presence on academic achievement in web-based e-learning. For this purpose, this study analyzed the influencing relationship between the each factor based on the structural model with the learning flow as a mediator variable. Based on existing theoretical studies, learning satisfaction and academic achievement, which represent learning outcomes, are set as dependent variables, and teaching presence, cognitive presence, and social presence are set as independent variables. Data collected from a total of 256 e-learning learners were used in the analysis of this study. According to the results of the analysis, teaching presence, cognitive presence, and social presence were found to have a significant effect on academic achievement when a learning flow is a mediator variable. Concretely, teaching presence, cognitive presence, and social presence have a positive effect on the learning flow, while learning flow has a positive effect on learning satisfaction. On the other hand, learning flow has a negative effect on academic achievement. As a result of verifying the mediating effect of learning flow on the relationship between presence, learning satisfaction, and academic achievement, there was meditating effect in the aggregate. This study implies that in order to increase the level of learning satisfaction and academic achievement, it is necessary to make the teaching-learning design in the provision of contents and materials for e-learning so that the learner can feel the presence. The results of this study can be used as a basic data for seeking support and promotion strategies for enhancement of future learning flow and presence.
