Effect of Learning Activities through Contents Creation for E-book on Self-directed Learning Ability (전자책 콘텐츠 제작을 통한 학습활동이 자기 주도적 학습 능력에 미치는 효과)

  • School education is changed to the learner-centered on 21th century knowledge base information-oriented society. The construction of infrastructure for smart education in the field of education has enabled various educational approaches using this and self-directed learning depending on the levels of learners. Thus, this study created the contents by applying ePUB format based-authoring tools for e-books to subject learning and analyzed the effect on the development of self-directed learning ability of learners. It was confirmed that the experimental group improved the self-directed learning ability better than the control group through e-book making activities from learning results on social studies and history curriculum of fifth graders. The result of this study showed a high level of satisfaction in all the subgroups of self-directed learning ability such as intrinsic motivation, openness to learning opportunities and autonomy.

The Effect of After School Program Applying Flipped Learning on Self-Directed Learning Ability and Learning Motivation of Nursing Student (거꾸로 학습을 적용한 방과 후 프로그램(After School Program)이 간호대학생의 자기주도학습 및 학습동기에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of flipped learning in ASP(after school program) on self-directed learning ability and learning motivation. This study used a one group pre test-post test design. Data derived from 35 person nursing students enrolled in after-school program between 17 December 2018 and 18 January 2019 at D university. The learner's self-directed learning ability increased, statistically differed differences(t=-4.04, p<.001) but, motivation increased there were no statistically significant differences(t=-1.08, p=.288). The average of ASP satisfaction scores for the program was 3.49 ± 0.93. Therefore, it is suggested that educators and schools organize their flipped learning methods in the curriculum to improve learners' self-directed learning ability.

Case Study on Application of Social Learning in Workforce Education (소셜러닝을 적용한 직업교육 성과분석 사례연구)

  • Social learning is a form to support learners' active engagement and participation in learning with other learners and instructors by using social media. The concept of social learning should be considered beyond the simple use of social media for learning or education. This study aims to apply the understanding of social learning based on the theoretical background of social theories of learning in designing and developing a program for workforce education. As a pilot test, the newly developed social learning program was implemented to 302 employees with the title of 'Innovative Display Strategy for POP". 138 employees successfully completed the social learning course that focuses on delivering contents in time-line based platform, supporting interactions among students, and working effectively through small smart devices in their workplace. The results were derived from three kinds of data-source: learner's log data, their final evaluation score, and the survey to measure the satisfaction about social learning. Finally the implications for social learning were discussed in terms of the program revision and directions for future application.

  • The smart education is performed in the education field, but the contents related to the subject class performed in the various smart devices are insufficient and it is necessary to continue training teacher and learner for the app development education. Therefore this study developed and applied the contents production education program of the game type web app around elementary science 6 grade 1 term utilizing Storyline authoring tools, similar to PowerPoint and be executable in the various devices. After educating students, we investigate the convenience of the use of Storyline, satisfaction level of learning contents work activity, and the continued availability, and etc,. They are interested in the activity of the smart educational contents development and they wished to participate in the continued app development education and activity in spite of it make difficulty for using English menu.

  • This study certified that the mentality training that utilized ICT learning has been working as an important base having much effect on learner's basic attitude on physical education class, improvement of bodily exercise function, and class satisfaction, and that the exercise ability was improved in the scope of speed, form(posture), accuracy(shooting success rate), and adaptability(performance ability). It means it is a much more step-forwarded educational method that the advantages of ICT learning and mentality training at the existing learning method were applied to the reality. Regarding the object of this study, it is a little bit unreasonable to generalize its study results in that it wasn't intended for national unit sampling. Therefore, in the future study, it is necessary to continue to advance the study that its representative-ness was supplemented through the balanced sampling between area and area, and between grade and grade.

  • Contemporary Christian educators emphasize that the student has to become not a passive beneficiaries of knowledge, but an active subject for self-directed learner to pursue a Bible training. In addition, learning environments need to be converted into a learning place in which students can learn the principles of the Word, taste its meaning, and apply them into the scene in their lives. This study is to investigate new possibilities of self-directed volunteer camp, developing it as an alternative program for summer retreat and evaluating its effectiveness. According to qualitative research findings. self-directed volunteer camp provide for the youth students to develop their leadership as well as their faith. Especially, the higher effect of self-directed volunteer camp was found on program satisfaction, promoting cooperation through real problem-solving, and internalizing of the faith. Therefore, self-directed volunteer camp for vacation Bible church programs can be expected as an alternative teaching method for church education in the 21st century.

  • In the case of Java programming education for non-major undergraduates, there are no examples of applying the physical computing education method. The advantage of physical computing education is that you can directly check the SW processing output result according to the input value of digital and analog sensor, so that you can quickly correct programming errors and improve learner's learning interest and satisfaction. In this paper, we use the microbits to combine physical computing education with basic Java programming education. In addition, according to the computational thinking process, we proposed an educational method for creating Java programs using microbits. Through block programming to control the microbits, we designed an algorithm and applied a training method to convert it into a Java program. In addition, the results of students' evaluations were analyzed in the course applying the education method, and the effectiveness of the education method using the microbit was analyzed.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate 1) learner's satisfaction and perception on PBL 2) the relationship between learning styles and PBL preferences 3) the effects of decreasing communication apprehension through PBL. The results were as follows: 1) the students were satisfied with PBL and perceived positively on PBL 2) the students with high participative or cooperative learning styles were satisfied with PBL and perceived more positively on PBL, but those who had avoidant or dependent learning styles didn't perceive positively on PBL 3) the degree of communication apprehension in meeting was decreased significantly. We expect this research to be foundation in instructional design of PBL with individual differences

Development of On-line Judge System based on Block Programming Environment (블록 프로그래밍 환경 기반 온라인 평가 시스템 개발)

  • Block programming environment, which is represented by Scratch in elementary and middle school programming education, is suitable for learner's characteristics and cognitive level, and is recommended not only for beginners. Transference to the text programming environment after the block programming is essential for understanding the data processing process, understanding the accuracy and efficiency aspects of algorithms, and creating SW activity. In addition, it is presented step by step in the programming curriculum. In this study, developed WithBlock the online evaluation system for the purpose of transference from a block programming to a text programming environment. The developed system can solve the same algorithm problem in both block and text programming environment, and it can be used for elementary and secondary programming education by automatically scoring the written code and providing immediate feedback. In order to applicable to programming education in elementary and secondary surveyed the usability, learning possibility, interest and satisfaction of WithBlock. The results of the survey showed that it can be used for programming education.

A Study on the Development and Operation of a Curriculum Based on National Competency Standard (NCS) : Focus on the Case of Department of Real Estate and Urban Future at Hanyang Cyber University (국가직무능력표준(NCS) 기반 교육과정 개발 및 운영에 관한 연구 : H사이버대학 부동산도시미래학부 사례를 중심으로)

  • National Competency Standards (NCS) is a good resource for curriculum development and operations corresponding to the industrial damand. Recently, four-year colleges and universities are committed to a restructuring of the industry demand-driven training courses in order to strengthen competitiveness. However, NCS is focused to train the technical personnel in vocational training institutions(ex. College, Polytechnic University). Accordingly, NCS applications of four-year colleges and universities are hard to find. In this study, we propose a new model for NCS-based curriculum development and operations. Also, NCS was utilized to complement the existing curriculum. This paper includes the following contents; 1) NCS-based curriculum development process, 2) NCS-based course development and operation, 3) learner satisfaction analysis. Finally, this study provide practical implications to four-year colleges and universities to consider NCS application.
