Background: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the postoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) results of minimal-tying (one medial-row tie among 4 medial-row sutures) on the medial-row in double-row suture-bridge configuration ($2{\times}2$ anchor with $4{\times}4$ suture stands). Methods: From 2011 March to 2012 July, 79 patients underwent arthroscopic rotator cuff repair using $2{\times}2$ anchor double-row configuration. The mean age was 61.3 years (range, 31-81 years). Two double-loaded suture anchors were used for medial-row. Four medial-row stitches were made with only one medial-row knot-tying (the most anterior suture). Lateral-row was secured using the conventional suture-bridge anchor technique; all 4 strands were used for each anchor. Repair integrity was evaluated with MRI at mean 6.2 months postoperatively. Retear and the pattern of retear, change of fatty infiltration, and muscle atrophy of supraspinatus were evaluated using pre- and postoperative MRI. Results: Repaired tendon integrity was 38 for type I, 30 for type II, 6 for type III, 4 for type IV, and 1 for type V, according to Sugaya classification. Considering type IV/V as retear, the rate was 6.3% (5 out of 79 patients). Medial cuff failure was observed in 4 patients. Fatty atrophy of supraspinatus was significantly improved postoperatively according to Goutallier grading (p=0.01). The level of muscle atrophy of supraspinatus was not changed significantly after surgery. Conclusions: Minimal tying technique with suture configuration of four-by-four strand double-row suture-bridge yielded a lower retear rate (6.3%) in medium to large rotator cuff tears.
In this paper classifies the types of 228 anchor stones discharged from the west and south coasts, assumes a combined method by type, routes through discharge locations, and It attempted to estimate the burial site. Prior to classification of types, the weight, thickness, width, and length of the anchor stone were measured, and the largest Young in the tomb The scent weight was classified into I~V groups, and the shape of the anchor stone was classified into 1-6 types. All of these weight and shape correlations It was classified into 17 types. The combined method by type is 180kg or less depending on the morphological characteristics of the reference value of the extracted anchor stone, and the type An anchor of type 1 or 2 is used in combination with an anchor, and a anchor of type 3 or 6 weighs more than 180kg and is combined with an anchor The dragon was assumed to be an anchor. Along with this, the route and burial site are identified through past records and testimony of local residents It was checked against the data. The route was largely consistent with past records, but the new route was apparent in waters near the island or inland It was also drawn. In the case of burial sites, small and large in Taean Mado Sea and Jindo Byeokpajin Sea, where anchor stones are concentrated, Considering the pattern of the type anchor stones being discharged, it was consistent with the testimony that ships of various sizes were mysterious in the two seas. Based on this type classification, a study on the spatiality of the anchors was conducted. First, a comparison and analysis was done on whether actual real data, such as anchor stones, old ships, and relics, were identified on the Joun-ro route and international trade routes as recorded in the past literature. Where there was no record, the route was estimated based on real data. To this end, routes estimated based on the testimony of local residents and modern ship workers were analyzed as to whether ships traveled there in the past and whether they could actually sail. Next, the location of each seedling was estimated by ship size according to the weight of the anchor stone. In the case of the Taean Mado Sea and Jindo Byeokpajin Sea, both small and large anchor stones were discharged from the coastline and were far away.
When deformation occurs on slope reinforced with anchor, shear stress and bending stress are applied on the shear surface along the slip surface and increase of the shear deformation causes the tension force variation of the anchor. In this study, shear test was performed by measuring the tension force of the anchor by inducing shear deformation in vertical direction of the anchor using a large-scale direct shear test equipment in order to confirm the tension force variation of the anchor induced by shear deformation. The shear test was performed for 8 conditions which were classified according to the anchor reinforcement, separation distance (1D, 2D, 4D) from the shear surface to bonded part and the lateral-pressure condition (0.1 MPa, 0.2 MPa) of adjacent ground. As a result of the shear test, it was found that the separation distance and the lateral-pressure condition affect the shear force of the ground reinforced by anchor and the tension force of the anchor, and experimentally verified that the shear force variation is related to axial force variation of the anchor head and tip. Therefore, it was confirmed that the behavior of the bonded part induced by the shear deformation can be indirectly predicted by analyzing the tendency of the tension force variation of the anchor head.

Many electric poles in the softground have been collapsed due to external load. In this study, 10 types of tests were performed with variation of location, numbers and depths of anchor blocks as well as depth of poles to find horizontal earth pressure through full scale pull-out tests. The horizontal earth pressure increased with embedded depth of electric pole, and earth pressure of lower passive zone decreased. The deeper of anchor block, earth pressure of passive zone becomes less. 4 anchor blocks decreased earth pressure at G.L.-0.9[m]. It is considered that 4 anchor blocks installed along 80[cm] vertically are main reason. Overall, when more anchor blocks are constructed, excavation area is large, and constructivity such as backfill is bad, therefore one anchor block would be preferred.

The target slope of this study, formed during the construction of highway, is the very high infinite slope where sliding began along the discontinuity. Although an attempt was made to stabilize the upper part of the slope by installing the rock anchors, large scale failure was occurred at the lower part if the reinforced area. Afterwards, subsequent failures were observed two times. To investigate the cause of the failure, residual shear strength was measured by performing the direct shear test of rock specimen of the site. The anchor design was based on the pull-out test. Considering the slope surface where the undulation was severe and the variation of strength was very large, buttressing was used to obtain the required anchoring capacity.
Load distributive compression anchors distribute the compressive stress in the grout and increase the pull-out capacity of the anchor by using multiple anchor bodies. In this anchor type, the spacing between the anchor bodies has a large influence on the stress in the grout. However, there are few researches about the spacing and there are no design standards. Therefore, the effect of the anchor body spacing on the grout stress was analyzed by performing finite element analyses. First, the applicability of the numerical modeling was verified by comparing with field test results of a compression anchor. Then, the parametric study was performed varying soil type, anchor body spacing, and load magnitude. The analysis results showed that the maximum compressive stress in the grout increased at the narrower spacing and the tensile stress developed at the wider spacing. Therefore, the optimum spacing was defined as the spacing, which prevents the superposition of compressive stresses and minimize the tensile stress. Finally, the optimum spacing was proposed according to the soil type and the load magnitude.

Deep excavations in the urban areas have been frequently going on in large scale. Soil-nailing and Earth-anchor supporting methods are generally used in deep excavation. These construction methods cause ground disturbances during drilling process, and damages of adjacent structures and ground due to the differential settlement throughout construction period, and unexpected behaviors of supporting system according to the characteristics of drilling machine and ground condition. This article introduces two actual examples of adjacent deep excavation for the construction of university buildings in granitic Seoul area. The important results of construction and measurements obtained using Crawler drilling machine for Soil-nailing and Earth-anchor supporting methods are summarized. And some suggestions are given to improve and develop the technique of design and construction in the deep excavation projects having similar ground condition and supporting method.
This paper examines the results from three-dimensional dynamic finite element analysis undertaken to develop a new dynamically installed anchor (DIA). Several candidate shapes of new DIAs were selected after an investigation into previous researches of existing DIA designs. The performances of selected DIAs during the installation and loading in non-homogeneous clay were investigated through large deformation finite element (LDFE) analyses. Findings were compared to the current anchors in operation (i.e., Torpedo and Omni-Max DIA) to assess the viability of the new designs in the field. Overall, the anchor embedment depths of the novel DIAs lied under the results of OMNI-Max DIA. And also, the tracked anchor trajectory confirmed that, the novel DIAs dove deeper with stiffer travelling angle, compared to the OMNI-Max DIA. These elements are more critical and beneficial especially in a field where the achieved embedment depths are generally low.

In order to identify a load transfer mechanism of ground anchors, the behavior of multi load transfer ground anchor systems was investigated and compared with those of compression type anchors and tension type anchors. Large scale model tests were performed and stress-strain relationships were obtained. The load transfer mechanism of ground anchors was also investigated in the field tests. Finally, numerical analyses to predict the load-displacement relationships of anchors were conducted. It is concluded that the load transfer characteristics of MLT anchors are mechanically much more superior in the pull-out resistance effect than those of existing compression and tension type anchors. From the results of research work, we could suggest that the max pull-out capacity of anchor capacity to each the soil condition. Also, the MLT anchors can be used to achieve both structural enhancement and economic construction in earth retaining or supporting structures.
