This paper is a study on the methodology of making customized contents according to user 's tendency through the development of learning contents utilizing IT. A variety of learners around the world use mobile devices and mobile learning contents to conduct their learning activities in various fields, and foreign language learning is one of the typical mobile learning areas. Foreign language learning contents suggested in this study is constructed based on the learner's verbal and text information in accordance with the user's vocal tendency. It is necessary to find out a suitable method to translate the user's native language text into the target language and make it into user friendly content.

This paper deals with the design of teaching learning model for programming language education. Various courses related to programming language education have opened at the university having many academic majors. In the meantime, a variety of programming languages have been developed, many integrated development environments of programming language have also been developed for users to make a program easily. But it is difficult for many novice learners to learn programming language still, likewise it is difficult for many teachers to teach the introduction course of programming language. In this paper, we have designed a teaching learning model based on scholastic achievements and blended learning for programming language education. The teaching learning model designed in this study was applied to a course opened in the second semester of 2011. According to the course evaluation result, the teaching learning model for programming language has shown to be an effective for novice learner.

The purpose of this paper is to discover how the use of digital applications can affect students' attitudes toward positive classroom participation and performance in learning a foreign language. Participants of this study were 128 students who took a foreign language class at a high school in central Korea. To find out students' perceptions and attitudes toward the effect of using a digital application for their foreign language study, online questionnaire and focus-group interview were conducted. Our research findings revealed that these students could engage in active language learning and experience learning improvement while studying a foreign language with digital applications. The improvement was possible by creating more interactive activities and quizzes. In addition, the digital application provided students immediate feedback. It gave students and teachers various motivations beyond the traditional 'chalk and talk' format of text-only-classes. This study provides an overview of the usefulness of digital application. In addition, it provides understanding for students' perceptions and involvement using digital application in a foreign language classroom.

The purpose of this study is to make it easier, more fun and more convenient to learn a foreign language through the development of an efficient audio contents platform that utilizes each person's native language ability. In order to achieve the goal to produce audio contents centering on the native language used in real life. Contents that are created without much effort in daily life could be used as precious contents for foreign language learners to learn the natural use of the language. Currently, most of the online foreign language learning platforms have problems with the contents depletion and the low practicality of contents. Accordingly, I am expecting this platform improves the existing shortcomings, giving foreign language learners the opportunity to learn a foreign language more realistically and at the same time giving native speakers an opportunity to generate additional revenue by utilizing their spare time.

With tremendous advancement of information and communication technologies, mobile learning systems have been widely adopted in language learning contexts, and several frameworks have been developed for identifying and categorizing different factors of mobile-assisted language learning (MALL). However, pre-existing frameworks have limitations when evaluating the importance level of criteria. The purpose of this study is to develop a comprehensive hierarchical framework for identifying and categorizing success factors of MALL and prioritizing them according to the importance level. To do that, AHP method is used to quantitatively estimate weight values of MALL criteria. Results reveal that the priority of MALL criteria is ordered as follows: content, system, learner, language learning. Local weights of each criterion are also analyzed; for example, usefulness, accuracy, and authenticity are critical factors for improving MALL contents. Ease of use and mobility of MALL systems are also considered more critical than other systematic factors. In addition, availability of immediate feedback and self-directness has the highest weight values of importance. The findings of the study are discussed regarding hierarchical orders of MALL criteria and conclude that successful MALL implementation may be achieved if related elements are diversely measured and evaluated. Pedagogical implications and suggestions for further research are also presented.

The purpose of this study is to discover if the use of computer technologies in computer-assisted language learning, in the aspect of vocabulary learning, is both effective and useful. The technique of using multimedia lessons, using the computer, offers a variety of language learning tasks in relation to the four basic language learning skills. Korean students have been accustomed to a cramming style of education, and they utilize rote memorization for learning vocabulary. This study consisted of surveys and experiments, using specific multimedia language learning courseware exercises on three different age groups. The study explores the issues and problems that followed, and how teachers could effectively apply or enhance their vocabulary teaching through computer-assisted multimedia which is suited for a variety of levels versus the classroom off-line vocabulary learning application which is suited to one level.

Recently, Chinese universities have been putting their priority on cultivating industry-academia linked talents, catching up with social change and industrial demand. Accordingly, vocational purpose education is being emphasized even in Korean language education. When facing active trade between Korea and China, the importance of business Korean language education will be magnified, and therefore, the demand for business Korean textbooks will grow accordingly. To strengthen the basis for the development of future business Korean textbooks, this study conducted a general analysis of a business Korean textbook for Chinese learners. Specifically, the textbook was examined by largely dividing it into external and internal structures. After dividing the internal structure into "purpose of compilation", "composition of the textbook", "learning contents", and "learning activity", the composition of the textbook was once again divided into "overall composition" and "unit composition", and the learning contents was further divided into "subject", "language content", and "supplementary knowledge." Furthermore, an analysis was conducted. The status and directions for future development of business Korean textbooks for Chinese learners are delineated and suggestions for improvement are provided. This study has its significant in that a general analysis was conducted on a business Korean textbook for Chinese learners, and is expected to be used as basic research material for the future development of business Korean textbooks.

This study examines the impact of online collaborative English language learning to enhance learner motivation and classroom engagement in university English instruction. The role of learner motivation and classroom engagement has gained much attention under the premises of current constructivist framework of English as a foreign language education. To promote learner motivation and classroom interaction in English instruction, participants in this study engaged in integrative English learning activities through online group collaboration and peer-tutoring. They exchanged productive peer response and shared their learning experiences throughout the integrative English learning activities. Digital technology played an integral role in motivating the learning process of the participants. Data for this study were gathered through an online questionnaire survey and semi-structured interviews. The data were analyzed based on the ARCS motivational model of instructional design to identify the motivational aspects of integrative English learning activities. This study reveals that participants of this study regarded online collaborative English learning activities as the positive and motivating learning experience. The online collaborative English reading instruction had positive effect on improving EFL university students' learning performance. Participants of this study also identified affective and metacognitive benefits of online collaborative EFL learning activities for learner motivation and classroom engagement. This study reveals that the social networking platform in online group collaboration played a crucial role for the participants in understanding the integration of online group collaboration as the positive and effective language learning strategy. This study may have implications in suggesting the effective instructional design for promoting learner motivation and classroom interaction in EFL education.

The Internet is now of the fastest growing areas of telecommunications and of Computer Assisted Language Learning. It is rapidly becoming more integrated into society and accessible to people form around the world. A number of educators believe there is potential for language teaching and learning opportunities through the Internet, and have already developed uses and resources for this purpose. The range of what is available is growing continually. The purpose of this study is to research CMC via the Internet and other long-distance networks, to investigate the analyse best and worst things about studying English on the internet and to suggest some findings from the comparison between internet and classroom learning by means of questionnaire.

According to studies of many language education researchers including R. Ellis, a representative English education specialist, it is an effective and important method to improve the authenticity of English by learning a foreign language repeatedly in learner's actual situation. In this paper, we propose a foreign language learning service combined with context-awareness service, and develop foreign language learning contents which improves the authenticity of English learning based on the service. This approach is based on a study on digital education contents that helps learners to acquire a foreign language in an unconscious state in their real environment and a study to analyze the empirical characteristics of users based on real-time multi-sensed data.
