Purification, Structural Characterization, and Biological Activity of Polysaccharides from Lentinus velutinus

  • A polysaccharide (LVP) was purified from fruiting body of Lentinus velutinus by ethanol precipitation fractionation and DEAE and Sephadex G-100 column chromatography. The yield of purified polysaccharide was 0.025%. Molecular characteristics of LVP were determined by gel permeation chromatography, FT-IR spectroscopy, and thin-layer chromatography. Our results revealed that LVP is a polysaccharide composed of only glucose units, and has a molecular weight of 336 kDa. Biological activity assays indicated that LVP exhibits both cytotoxic and antioxidant activity. LVP showed specific cytotoxicity against cancer cells (HeLa and HepG2 cells), and alterations in cancer cell morphology were found after LVP treatment.

The Electrochemical Performance of Li3V2(PO4)3/Graphene Nano-powder Composites as Cathode Material for Li-ion Batteries

  • The $Li_3V_2(PO_4)_3$/graphene nano-particles composite was successfully synthesized by a facile sol-gel method. The addition of a graphene in $Li_3V_2(PO_4)_3(LVP)$(LVP) showed the high crystallinity and influenced the morphology of the $Li_3V_2(PO_4)_3$ particles observed in X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The LVP/graphene samples were well connected, resulting in fast charge transfer. The effect of the addition graphene nano-particles on electrochemical performance of the materials was investigated. Compared with the pristine LVP, the LVP/graphene composite delivered a higher discharge capacity of $122mAh\;g^{-1}$ at 0.1 C-rate, better rate capability and cyclability in the potential range of 3.0-4.3 V. The electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS) measurement showed the improved electronic conductivity for the LVP/graphene composite, which can ensure the high specific capacity and rate capability.

Moderating Effect of Luxury Value Perceptions in the Relationship between In-Store Emotions and Perceived Brand Luxury

  • The meaning of luxury varies by individuals. The differing luxury perceptions should influence the way individuals react to relevant marketing programs for luxury. Limited research exists on the topic despite interest in luxury segmentation and consumer-oriented values for luxury in marketplaces. Referring to the conceptual framework by Wiedmann et al. (2007), we explored the moderation role of four dimensions of luxury value perceptions (LVP; financial, functional, individual, and social dimensions), in the relationship between in-store emotion and perceived brand luxury. A total of 218 U.S. consumers participated in our online survey using a hypothetical luxury store image. The results revealed the following: First, on the relationship between felt pleasure and perceived brand luxury (PBL), the financial dimension of LVP only showed a significant moderation effect. Second, the effect of felt arousal on PBL was moderated by the financial and social dimensions of LVP. Lastly, the individual dimension of LVP only moderated the relationship between felt dominance and PBL. Theoretical and managerial implications are suggested.

Fabrication and Characterization of Spherical Carbon-Coated Li3V2(PO4)3 Cathode Material by Hydrothermal Method with Reducing Agent

  • Spherical $Li_3V_2(PO_4)_3$ (LVP) and carbon-coated LVP with a monoclinic phase for the cathode materials are synthesized by a hydrothermal method using $N_2H_4$ as the reducing agent and saccharose as the carbon source. The results show that single phase monoclinic LVP without impurity phases such as $LiV(P_2O_7)$, $Li(VO)(PO_4)$ and $Li_3(PO_4)$ can be obtained after calcination at $800^{\circ}C$ for 4 h. SEM and TEM images show that the particle sizes are $0.5{\sim}2{\mu}m$ and the thickness of the amorphous carbon layer is approximately 3~4 nm. CV curves for the test cell are recorded in the potential ranges of 3.0~4.3 V and 3.0~4.8 V at a scan rate of $0.01mV\;s^{-1}$ and at room temperature. At potentials between 3.0 and 4.8 V, the third $Li^+$ ions from the carbon-coated LVP can be completely extracted, at voltages close to 4.51 V. The carbon-coated LVP exhibits an initial specific discharge capacity of $118mAh\;g^{-1}$ in the voltage region of 3.0 to 4.3 V at a current rate of 0.2 C. The results indicate that the reducing agent and carbon source can affect the crystal structure and electrochemical properties of the cathode materials.

결정화도에 따른 Li3V2(PO4)3 음극의 전기화학적 특성 (Electrochemical Characteristics of Li3V2(PO4)3 Negative Electrode as a Function of Crystallinity)

  • 열처리 온도를 $600^{\circ}C$$800^{\circ}C$로 다르게 하여 비정질 및 결정질구조의 탄소를 포함하는 $Li_3V_2(PO_4)_3/C$분말을 각각 합성하였으며, 결정성에 따른 리튬 이차전지용 음극으로의 특성을 비교하였다. 결정질 $Li_3V_2(PO_4)_3/C$은 추가반응에 의하여 리튬이 저장되기 때문에 260 mAh $g^{-1}$의 제한된 용량만을 지니고 있음에 비하여, 비정질 $Li_3V_2(PO_4)_3/C$는 3가의 바나듐이 금속상태에 근접할 정도로 가역적으로 반응되어 460 mAh $g^{-1}$의 큰가역용량을 발현함을 확인하였다. 이는 비정질 구조에서 기인하는 특성으로 유연한 구조로 인한 새로운 리튬의 저장공간이 확보되는 것 때문이라 할 수 있다. 또한, 비정질 $Li_3V_2(PO_4)_3/C$는 비정질 구조에 기인하는 선형적인 충방전 곡선을 지니고 있어 정확한 충전심도의 예측이 용이할 뿐만 아니라, 결함구조에서 유발된 리튬이온의 향상된 확산성으로 인하여 우수한 속도 특성도 나타내고 있다.

아프로티닌이 흰쥐 적출심장의 심근보호에 미치는 영향 (Effects of aprotinin on isolated rat heart in myocardial preservation in prolonged hypothermic cardioplegic followed by reperfusion)

  • We investigated the effects of aprotinin, a protease inhibitor, on isolated rat heart subjected to cardioplegia and global ischemia for 4 hours and then reperfused for 40 minutes. Before ischemia, hearts were perfused with either aprotinin 1x105KIU/L[Aprotinin group,n=8 or no aprotinin[control group,n=8 added to Krebs-Henseleite solution for 30 minutes. Hemodynamic and biochemical parameters such as heart rate, LVP, dP/dt, coronary flow and creatine kinase were measured before cardioplegia and after reperfusion 10,20,30,40 minutes. After completion of experiment, wet and dry heart weight were measured for tissue water and water content evaluation. On reperfusion, recovery of LVP of aprotinin group at each time point was significantly better than that of control group[p<0.05 , and of dP/dt at reperfusion 40 minutes[p=0.034 . No statistically significant differences in heart rate, coronary flow and CK were observed between the two groups, but aprotinin group seemed to have better recovery. No significant differences in tissue water and water content were observed between the two group.These results suggest that pretreatment of aprotinin is effective in myocardial preservation in prolonged hypothermic ischemia and reperfusion.

Chlorpromazine 이 과분극 정지심장의 재관류 손상에 미치는 보호효과 (Protective Effect of Chlorpromazine for the Isolated Rat Heart from Reperfusion Injury)

  • This study was designed to investigate the protective effect of chlorpromazine against the reperfusion injury of myocardium after high potassium cardioplegic arrest. Langendorff`s preparations of rat heart were infused with high potassium cardioplegic solution[St. Thomas Hospital Solution] at 25oC. Chlorpromazine [10-7M] increased the recovery of myocardial contractility[dp/dt], left ventricular pressure[LVP], and coronary flow rate of the reperfused heart. Both in control and experimental groups, the restoration of myocardial activity could not reach to the level of preplegic control. These results suggest that the etiologic factors of the reperfusion injury include the influence of high potassium cardioplegic solution and/or reperfusion itself, and that chlorpromazine protects myocardium from the reperfusion injury.

KI-60606의 일반약리작용시험 (General Pharmacology of KI-60606)

  • In this study general pharmacological profiles of KI-60606 on the central nervous system, the cardiovascular system and the other organs were investigated. The dosages given were 0,5, 10 and 25 mg/kg and drugs were administered intravenously. The animals used for this study were mice, rats, cats and guinea pigs. KI-60606 showed no effects on general behavior, motor coordination, spontaneous locomotor activity, hexobarbital-induced hypnosis time, body temperature, analgesic activity, anticonvulsant activity and contraction of nictitating membrane in cats. Furthermore KI-60606 showed no effects on blood pressure, heart rate, LVP (left ventricular peak systolic pressure), LVEDP (left ventricular end diastolic pressure), LVDP (left ventricular developing pressure), DP(double product), CFR(coronary flow rate), smooth muscle contraction using guinea pig ileum and gastric secretion at all dosage tested except the increase of gastrointestinal transport and urinary $K^+$ excretion.

흰쥐의 적출된 심장에서 Verapamil이 허혈성 심근에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Verapamil in Cardioplegic Perfusates on the Ischemic Myocardium in Isolated Rat Heart)

  • 저자들은 흰쥐의 적출된 심장을 이용하여 Verapamil이 허혈성 심근에 대하여 심근보호효과가 있는지를 관찰하였다 흰쥐의 적출된 심장은 허혈상태에서 심근온도가 $25^{\circ}C$가 되게 유지하였다. 24마리의 흰쥐로부터 적출된 심장을 Krebs-Henseleit완충액을 사용하여 30분간의 비작업성 역관류로 안정시킨 후 $25^{\circ}C$의 심정지액 (St. Thomas' Hospital Cardioplegic Solution)에 60분 동안 저장하였다. 허혈성 심정지를 유도하기 전에 적출된 심장을 저온의 심정지액으로 처리한 군을 대조군(n=12)으로 하고, Verapamil 이 첨가된 저온의 심정지액으로 처리한 군을 실험군(n=12)으로 하였다. 60분 동안의 허혈성 심정지후 심정지전에 측정했던 혈역학적 및 생화학적 지표인 심박동수, 좌심실압, +dpfdt max, 관상관류량과 CPK치를 재관류후 30분에 재측정하여 심정지전과 비교하여 심기능 회복 정도를 관찰하였다. Verapamil이 첨가된 저온의 심정지액을 사용한 실험군이 심박동수, 좌심실압, +dp/dt max, 관상관류량과 CPK치에서 대조군에 비하여 유의하게 높은 회복율을 나타내었다(p <0.05).

반도체 장치의 결함해석 (Fault Analysis of Semiconductor Device)

  • 새로운 재료가 개발되어 점점 반도체 디바이스의 적용으로 인해 반도체 장치 구조의 미세화를 촉진하고 있고 반도체 디바이스의 제조공정에서는 초기불량이나 일정시간 가동 후의 고장이 끊이지 않고 발생하고 있어 그 결함에 대한 해석은 날이 갈수록 중요해지고 있다. 여기서는 반도체 디바이스의 전기적 고장 검출과 디바이스 결함부의 물리해석에 대해 서술한다. 물리해석에는 주사전자현미경이나 투과전자현미경, 집속이온빔가공장치와 같은 전자나 이온을 이용한 장치가 사용되는데 여기서는 그 사용기술과 특성에 대해 서술하고자 한다.
