MTF Measuring Equipment of Optical System for LCD Substrate Inspection (LCD 기판 검사 광학계의 MTF 측정장치 제작)

  • We developed the equipment to measure the MTF(modulation transfer function) of an optical system for automatically inspecting the surface condition of an LCD substrate. We have made an object generator with USAF(United States Air Force) targets of three bar patterns and an integrating sphere, and an image analyzer with a 2 dimensional CCD(charge coupled device) and a relay lens. The MTF of the lens under test was obtained by correcting the measured CTF(contrast transfer function) which is the ratio of the contrast in the image of the USAF target to the contrast in the object. We have measured an optical system of F/13.65 (2.6x), the MTF are 30.6 % tangential plane and 26.1 % sagittal plane at 62.5 1p/mm.

An analysis and assessment of transient vibration phenomenon for precision equipment due to adjacent utility operation in TFT-LCD Fab (TFT-LCD 생산공장 내 유틸리티 가동으로 인한 정밀장비 과도진동 현상 및 평가)

  • 반도체나 TFT-LCD등을 생산하는 정밀산업 공장구조물에는 진동에 민감한 수많은 정밀장비(검사 및 생산용 장비)가 청정실(Clean Room)에 설치되어 운용된다. 정밀장비는 정상운용을 위하여 주변에 각종 유틸리티 설비가 설치된다. 이러한 수많은 유틸리티 설비들과 그 밖의 많은 장비들로 인하여 공장 내 청정실에는 각종 수 많은 소음/진동원들이 산재해 있다. 이러한 소음/진동원으로 인하여 청정실 내에는 소음/진동의 환경을 저하시킨다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 정밀장비 주변에 설치 된 유틸리티의 가동으로 인하여 발생하는 진동으로 인하여 간헐적으로 정밀장비에 영향을 미치는 과도진동의 현상을 확인하고, 과도진동 현상에 대하여 정밀장비에서 제시한 진동허용규제치와 비교/평가하고, 진동허용규제치의 유효성에 대하여 확인하였다.

  • Inside the factory buildings of aprecision industry (which produces semiconductors or TFT-LCD), thousands of vibration-sensitive precision equipments operate in the clean rooms. Various utility equipments that are installed around them for proper operation cause various sources of noise and of vibration to exist inside the clean rooms and thus deteriorate the noise and the vibration environment within. In this study, we check if the existing transient vibration phenomenon is caused by the vibrations that arise from operating the utility installed near these equipments; compare and evaluate the vibration criteria of precision equipments regarding the transient vibration phenomenon; and check the efficiency of these criteria.

  • In design stage of high precision manufacture/inspection FAB building, it is necessary to investigate the vibration allowable limits of high precision equipment and to study a structure dynamic characteristics of C/R and Sub-structure in order to provide a structure vibration environment to satisfy thess allowable limits. The aim of this study is to investigate the dynamic characteristics of PC-Type mock-up structures designed for next TFT LCD FAB through vibration measurement and analysis procedure, therefore, to provide a proper dynamic structure design for high precision manufacture/inspection work process, which satisfy thess allowable limits.

  • As the essential techniques for the CD (Critical Dimension) measurement of the LCD pattern, there are various modules such as an optics design, auto-focus [1-4], and precise edge detection. Since the operation of image enhancement to improve the CD measurement repeatability, a ring type of the reflected lighting optics is devised. It has a simpler structure than the transmission light optics, but it delivers the same output. The edge detection is the most essential function of the CD measurements. The CD measurement is a vital inspection for LCDs [5-6] and semiconductors [7-8] to improve the production yield rate, there are numbers of techniques to measure the CD. So in this study, a new subpixel algorithm is developed through facet modeling, which complements the previous sub-pixel edge detection algorithm. Currently this CD measurement system is being used in LCD manufacturing systems for repeatability of less than 30 nm.

  • 반도체 및 TFT-LCD등을 생산하는 공장 구조물에는 C/R이 있으며, 여기에는 외부 진동에 엄격한 특성을 갖고 있는 각종 수 많은 정밀장비가 설치되어 있다. 더구나, 이러한 정밀장비등의 정상운용을 위하여 각종 UT(유틸리티)등이 병행하여 C/R내 산재해 설치되어 있다. 이러한 UT는 정밀장비와 각종 배관들로 연결되어 설치되어 있다. 또한 C/R의 항온/항습등을 유지하기 위하여 공조등 부대 유틸리티도 또한 설치되어 있으며, 이러한 각종 유틸리티는 진동은 유발하는 진동원이 되며, 여기서 발생하는 진동은 C/R의 진동환경을 열악하게 만들 수 있다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 TFT-LCD 생산 공장에서 UT와 배관등에서 발생하는 진동이 공장 구조물(격자보)와 공진현상을 일으켜 인접하여 설치 된 정밀장비에 악영향을 끼치고 있음을 현장 진동 측정과 구조물 동적 해석을 통하여 확인하였고, 제안한 저감대책을 수행 후 진동 영향성의 감소됨을 확인하였다.

Model-based Estimation of Production Parameters of Electronics FAB Equipment (모델기반의 전자부품 FAB설비 생산기준정보 추정)

  • In this paper, we propose a model-based approach to estimating production parameters of semiconductor FAB equipment. For FAB scheduling, for example, we need to know equipment's production parameters such as flow time, tact time, setup time, and down time. However, these data are not available, and they have to be estimated from material move data such as loading times and unloading times that are automatically collected in modern automated semiconductor FAB. The proposed estimation method may be regarded as a Bayes estimation method because we use additional information about the production parameters. Namely, it is assumed that the technical ranges of production parameters are known. The proposed estimation method has been applied to a LCD FAB, and found to be valid and useful.

  • Currently, most of TIDS(Train Information Display System) is operated colored-LED type equipment in Korea. This current TIDS equipment has not graceful display and causes passengers' fatigues, high operating and maintenance costs, and et al. To address these several, we are developed new colored-LCD type TIDS equipment. According to our developed new TIDS equipment, we can achieve high resolution and graceful color stone of information display.

  • LEDs are using widely in a field of illumination, LCD LED backlight, mobile signals because they have several merits, such as low power consumption, long lifetime, high brightness, fast response, environment friendly. To achieve high performance LEDs, one needs to enhance output power, reduce operation voltage, and improve device reliability. In this paper, we have proposed that the optimum design and specialized process could improve the performance of LED chip. It was showed an output power of 7cd and input supplied voltage of 3.2V by the insertion technique of current blocking layer. In this paper, GaN-based LED chip which is built on the sapphire epi-wafer by selective MOCVD were designed and developed. After that, their performances were measured. It showed the output power of 7cd more than conventional GaN-based chip. It will be used the lighting source of a medical equipment and LCD LED TV with GaN-based LED chip.

  • Today's most equipments that contain embedded system only support simple menus and background graphics. However, as the embedded system is applied for much more various fields and the user's needs for graphical interface become higher, the support for multimedia and moving pictures became an important criterion to evaluate the performance of a equipment. Because the present embedded system uses software to construct display environment, it is difficult to meet the bandwidth for multimedia contents and moving pictures. Using software for graphic also lowers the performance of the main function by overloading the processor. In this paper, we present an OLED/TFT-LCD controller suitable for embedded systems. The architecture we propose is described in HDL and the performance is evaluated in comparison with the existing embedded systems.
