Human service and outstanding natural beauty of necessary factors had significant influence on customer intention to use. According to the result of the stepwise logistic regression analysis, the most important item in medical services was human service OR=1.89 (p=.014), and for tour services, outstanding natural beauty OR=4.30 (p=.033). The explained variance for customer intention to use was 91.9%. • Objective: This study conducted an empirical research on foreign patients who had visited the medical institutions of Daegu region in order to identify the effects of the factor satisfaction and experience satisfaction with medical services on their revisit intentions. Methods: This study reviewed the existing studies on medical services to foreign patients with a main focus on medical tourism, and conducted the empirical research through a survey on foreign patients from the Russian, Chinese and English-speaking regions based on the Daegu Medical Tourism Promotion Institute's DB of foreign patients. The empirical research conducted a multiple regression analysis on factor satisfaction and experience satisfaction regarding return visit intentions. Results: The multiple regression analysis results showed that both the factor satisfaction and the experience satisfaction with medical services of foreign patients had positive effects on their return visit intentions, especially, with a relatively greater effect from the factor satisfaction. Specifically, it was found that factor satisfaction elements of 'friendliness of employees', 'good communication', and 'expertise of medical workers'; and experience satisfaction elements of 'reliability of medical information', 'efforts to minimize incompatibility towards foreigners', 'convenient access to medical information' and the like enhanced the return visit intentions. Conclusion: We discovered that, in the context of medical tourism activities, it is important to enhance factor satisfaction and experience satisfaction with medical services in order to promote return visits of the foreign patients who we once attracted. Especially, there are implications that reliability of medical information and efforts to minimize incompatibility towards foreigners enhance return visits of foreign patients.

  • The number of patients from Middle Eastern Arabic countries is steadily increasing in respect to the South Korean government's medical tourism strategies. Word of mouth is one of the main determinants concerning the Middle Eastern Arab patients' medical tourism destination. Further, patients' satisfaction affects repurchase and revisit intention. This study aimed to measure the level of Middle Eastern Arab patients' satisfaction, and to measure the effect of different medical factors on satisfaction in such patients who are seeking medical attention in South Korea. A 110 Middle Eastern Arab patients who visited South Korea for medical purposes participated in our survey between November, 2016 and April, 2017. All factors had a high mean (${\geq}4.24$; ${\geq}84.8/100$) except for one factor (hospital halal meals (3.82; 76.4)). To identify factors influencing participants' overall satisfaction we used multiple regression analysis. Physicians, interpreters, and halal meals were the main factors influencing overall Middle Eastern Arab patients' satisfaction. Physicians and interpreters in Korea are recommended to be oriented to basic Islamic beliefs and Middle Eastern Arab patients' behavior. Daily communication, such as speaking directly to the patient, limiting important issues to two or three at a time, and translating sentence by sentence, could help to improve Middle Eastern Arab patients' satisfaction. Enlisting Middle Eastern nutrition specialists in medical institutions in South Korea may substantially improve non-medical services satisfaction such as halal food and dietary restrictions.

  • This survey was designed to analyze questionnaire of Japanese who experienced Oriental Medical Tourism and to facilitate it afterwards. The survey was organized for 38 Japanese participants in oriental medicine hospital from Feb. 10 to Mar. 7 in 2011. According to the research, most of them didn't know about oriental medicine but they were interested. They preferred preventive medication through health improvement to medical treatment. When making decisions on which tourism products to use, the quality of medical service came first consideration for them. The most appropriate length of visit was 4~7days and cost per day was 7100~14000 yen. We need to gather more information on their various fields of interest in order to provide customized medical service and more surveys should be conducted henceforth.

  • Policy of for-profit hospitals permission has provoked debate on how to enhance health care system and medical service industry. The government says that for-profit hospitals could help improve the quality of medical care and develop medical tourism. On the other hand, Medical care related NGO insist that for-profit hospitals will not fix the existing medical problems in Korea, only create new ones. Recently, a type of for-profit hospitals emerged in dentistry and caused much trouble. Accordingly, We try to carefully look at for-profit hospitals related policy and debate.
