켈빈 식과 이의 나노 계에서의 구실 (Kelvin Equation and Its Role in Nano Systems)

  • Kelvin equation is revisited, which accounts for important phenomena observed frequently in nano-dispersion systems. They include vapor pressure increase for curved interfaces, nucleation, capillary condensation, Ostwald ripening and so on. The smaller the radius of curvature is, the more significant Kelvin equation becomes. Therefore, its meaning, curvature effect, and importance are examined and discussed.

  • In this paper we deal With the quadratic functional equation (equation omitted) deriving from an inequality of T. Popoviciu for convex functions. We solve this functional equation by proving that its solutions we the polynomials of degree at most two. Likewise, we investigate its stability in the spirit of Hyers, Ulam, and Rassias.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop methods for the dynamic analysis of multibody system that consist of interconnected rigid and deformable component. The equations of motion are derived by using the Lagrange's equation and finite element theory for the elastic mechanism systems. The type of equation of motion is the differential algebraic equation included kinematic nonlinear algebraic equation. The generalized coordinate partitioning method is used for solving this equation. To show the validity of this analysis solver, couple of models were canalized and those results were compared with the commercial package(ADAMS).

  • In this paper, we will study the relationship between the controlling factor of the solution to a difference equation and the solution of the corresponding differential equation. Many times the controlling factors are the same. But even the controlling factor of the two solutions may be different, we will discover a way to compute, for first order non-linear equations, the controlling factor of the solution to the difference equation using the solution of the differential equation.

  • This paper is concerned with a second-order iterated differential equation of the form $c_0x'(Z)+c_1x'(z)+c_2x(z)=x(az+bx(z))+h(z)$ with the distinctive feature that the argument of the unknown function depends on the state. By constructing a convergent power series solution of an auxiliary equation, analytic solutions of the original equation are obtained.

  • When a bright astronomical object (source) is gravitationally lensed by a foreground mass (lens), its image appears to be located at different positions. The lens equation describes the relations between the locations of the lens, source, and images. The lens equation used for the description of the lensing behavior caused by a lens system composed of multiple masses has a form with a linear combination of the individual single lens equations. In this paper, we examine the validity of the linear nature of the multi-lens equation based on the general relativistic point of view.

  • We deal with asymptotic properties of Maximum Likelihood Estimator(MLE) for the parameters appearing in a Hilbert space-valued Stochastic Differential Equation(SDE) and a Stochastic Partial Differential Equation(SPDE). In paractice, the available data are only the finite dimensional projections to the solution of the equation. Using these data we obtain MLE and consider the asymptotic properties as the dimension of projections increases. In particular we explore a relationship between the conditions for the solution and asymptotic properties of MLE.

  • We study a nonlinear wave equation on finite connected weighted graphs. Using Rothe's and energy methods, we prove the existence and uniqueness of solution under certain assumption. For linear wave equation on graphs, Lin and Xie [10] obtained the existence and uniqueness of solution. The main novelty of this paper is that the wave equation we considered has the nonlinear damping term |ut|p-1·ut (p > 1).
