RAMANUJAN CONTINUED FRACTIONS OF ORDER EIGHTEEN

  • As an analogy of the Rogers-Ramanujan continued fraction, we define a Ramanujan continued fraction of order eighteen. There are essentially three Ramanujan continued fractions of order eighteen, and we study them using the theory of modular functions. First, we prove that they are modular functions and find the relations with the Ramanujan cubic continued fraction C(𝜏). We can then obtain that their values are algebraic numbers. Finally, we evaluate them at some imaginary quadratic quantities.

패션내의류 시장의 포지셔닝 전략에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Positioning Strategy of the Fashion Underwear Market)

  • This study is to develope positioning strategy of fashion underwear market through the perceptual map which can analyze the psychological positioning of the existing fashion underwear brand. A positive study has been made on 176 women in their teens and twenties who live in the Seoul area through questionaire. The collected data was analyzed with Multidimensional Scaling Method, Conjoint Analysis and Cluster Analysis and so on. The results of analyzing the competitive relationships for attributes and the ideal points are as follows: The consumers groups are divided into three market segments on the basis of the ideal points about fashion underwear attributes. $\ulcorner$calvin Klein$\lrcorner$ evaluated excellent in design and color, brand and function attributes, and also appealed well to the segment market 2. $\ulcorner$calvin Klein$\lrcorner$ has good positioning at the fashion underwear market, and as well as the possibility of growth. $\ulcorner$Body Guard$\lrcorner$ appealed well in segment market 1 which highly valued the material and price attributes and $\ulcorner$Body Guard$\lrcorner$ competes with $\ulcorner$Benetton Undercolor$\lrcorner$ in this market. $\ulcorner$Hunt Innerwear$\lrcorner$ has possibilitiy to be appealed in segment market 3. Finally, it is necessary for each fashion underwear company to analyze and develope the segment market 3. Each company has to develope the brand that can appeal in the segment market 3 in which function was highly valued, and has better to make strategies that develope more functional products like sports underwear, bodysuit and bodywear and so on.

  • Symbolism found in a certain object inherits characteristics from the culture that contains the objects. The purpose of this study was investigate the formative beauty of Korean trousers twisted the pieces together based on the way of Korean thinks and the Topology. The shape is formed by cutting from the fabric. From the perspective of semiology, the fabric and the pattern shape correspond to ground and figure. Ground and figure are identical with the principle of the whole and the part, which is the same in Korea, China, and the West. But In Korea, the 3-dimensional garment is made by adding a twist. This is very important and defines the difference in the way of thinking and topology. Korean trousers consist of three parts : Hury, Marupok, and Sapok. The small Sapok can be made by removing the Marupok and large Sapok (figure) from the fabric (ground) when making Korean trousers. A Mobius strip is made when the large Sapok is adjoined with the small Sapok by reversing the small Sapok, making a 180$^{\circ}$twist and then stitching together. The theory of Mobius strip can be applied in Joining Bajiburi. thus when the trousers are completed the Klein's bottle is seen because of the 2 existing Mobius strop. Hury is cylinder while the small and large Sapok make up the Mobius strip. ICM의 초기역사 -태동기부터 제5차 ICM까지를 중심으로- (History of ICM )

  • 2014년 8월 13일에서 21일까지 서울에서 ICM(국제수학자대회) 이 열린다. 100년이 넘는 역사를 갖고 있는 ICM은 4년에 한 번씩 열린다. 클라인 (Klein) 에 의하여 ICM이 시작된 것으로 알려져 있으나, 사실은 칸토어 (Cantor) 가 먼저 국제수학자대회와 국제수학자연합체를 꿈꾸고 씨앗을 뿌렸다. 이 논문에서는 ICM이 시작된 계기와 ICM 초기인 1회부터 5회까지의 회의 발전 과정을 자세히 알아본다. 특히 ICM의 공식언어의 변화, 참석자들의 수의 변화, 논문발표의 수, 기조강연자의 구성, 수학 분과의 변화등을 통하여 20세기 초반 수학의 발전상을 함께 연구 한다.

가격인하 최적시기 연구: Jean Market을 대상으로 한 Decision Model를 중심으로 (The Optimal Timing of Markdowns: A Decision Model for Jean Market)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a decision model that helps manufacturers and retailers determine the optimal timing of markdown in order to maximize their profit. An optimal timing decision model was developed based on three steps; conjoint measurement, scenario analysis and simulation. Data were collected from the sample of 149 out of 170 undergraduate and graduate students in Seoul in 1997. From the Jeans market, 8 brands; Levi's, lee, Guess, Calvin Klein, Pintos, Get used, MFG, and Basic, were selected as competitors for this study. In the conjoint measurement, respondents estimated the level of preference, from 1 to 100, for each item in which brand, price, style, and colors were used to explain product characteristics. Then, in order to reflect competitive situation in Jeans market, four types of scenarios were developed. In each scenario, simulations were applied to decide optimal timing of markdowns that leads to maximal profitability and sales volume. The profit was calculated based on the equation; Profit = Jean's market volume x market share of each brand - cost, where market volume was obtained by integral calculus for market utility function, and market share by logit value of part-worth from the conjoint analysis. For the purpose of the parsimony of the research, costs and the level of markdown were fixed to 30% of the regular price. In results, the optimal timing decision model identified 3 different types of brands. The brands that do not need to take markdown were Ievi's, MFG, and Basic Jeans characterized by the highest brand power and the highest price zone. The brands that needed to take early markdowns were Guess, Lee, Calvin Klein, and Get Used with the intermediate level of brand power and price. The brand that need late markdown was Pintos with the weakest brand power among the competitors and the lowest price. The optimal range of markdown remains for further research.

Effects of Halothane on Dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine Lipid Bilayer Structure: A Molecular Dynamics Simulation Study

  • We performed molecular dynamics simulations on dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine lipid bilayer with 50 mol% halothane. The structural properties, electron density profile, segmental order parameter of acyl chains, headgroup orientation distribution, water dipole orientation distribution, have been examined. Overall the effects of the halothane molecules on structural properties of DMPC lipid bilayer were found to be small. The electron density profiles, the segmental order parameter, the headgroup orientation, the water dipole orientation were not affected significantly by the halothane molecules. Pressure tensor calculations shows that the lateral pressure increases at the hydrocarbon tail region and the headgroup region, and decreases at the water-headgroup interfacial region.

  • In late 19C, German mathematician Felix Klein declaired "Erlangen program" to reform mathematics education in Germany. The main ideas of "Erlangen program" contain the importance of instructing the concepts of functions and groups in school mathematics. After one century from that time, the importance of concepts of groups revived by Bourbaki in the sense of the algebraic structure which is the most important structure among three structures of mathematics - algebraic structure. ordered structure and topological structure. Since then, many mathematicians and mathematics educators devoted to work with the concepts of group for school mathematics. This movement landed on Korea in 21C, and now, the concepts of groups appeared in element mathematics text as plane rigid motion. In this paper, we state the rigid motions centered the symmetry - an important notion in group theory, then summarize the results obtained from some classroom activities. After that, we discuss the responses of children to concepts of groups.of groups.

  • The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the relationship among image, customer satisfaction and loyalty of fashion Extension brands. It is expected that this study will provide guidance to fashion companies that are planning to expand their brand in setting up marketing strategies and service strategies. The results of the study are the following. First, women consumers in their 20s had an perception that second brands provided diverse and unique products at cheap prices. However, after purchasing the products, they recognized that the second companies' service level was not so satisfying. Second, consumers were satisfied with the brand awareness, reputation, image, design, color, and packing conditions of the second brands while being not satisfied with the pricing. Third, when the study examined brand loyalty of second brands, consumers have shown high loyalty to the four subsidiary brands. Fourth, the satisfaction level for the four second brands had a significant effect on the brand loyalty for each second brands.

접힘 건축에 나타난 위상기하학적 공간 개념에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Concept of Topological Space shown Folding in Architecture)

  • Since 1990s, several rising western architects have been moving their theoretical background from the modern paradigm to new science and philosophy. Architectural spaces are based on the philosophy and science of their own age and the architectural theories made by them. And specially, it seems that topological spaces are different to theoretical backgrounds from idealized spaces of modern architecture. From these backgrounds, this study was performed to search for the spacial relationship and characteristics shown in the recently folding architecture and the results of this study that starts this purpose are as follows. First, the architecture that introduced by the theory of topology has appeared as the circulation forms like as Mobius band or Klein bottle, and was made the space fused with structure pursuing liquid properties of matter. As follows, second, the concept of topological space made the division of traditional concept of floor, wall, ceiling disappeared and had built up the space by continual transformation. Third, about the relationship between two spaces in topological space, the two spaces were happened by transformation of these and they have always continuity and the same quality.

  • One of the roles of the Semantic Web services is to execute dynamic intra-organizational services including the integration and interoperation of business processes. Since different organizations design their processes differently, the retrieval of similar semantic business processes is necessary in order to support inter-organizational collaborations. Most approaches for finding services that have certain features and support certain business processes have relied on some type of logical reasoning and exact matching. This paper presents our approach of using imprecise matching fur expanding results from an exact matching engine to query the OWL MIT Process Handbook. In order to use the MIT Process Handbook for process retrieval experiments, we had to export it into an OWL-based format. We model the Process Handbook meta-model in OWL and export the processes in the Handbook as instances of the meta-model. Next, we need to find a sizable number of queries and their corresponding correct answers in the Process Handbook. We devise diverse similarity algorithms based on values of process attributes and structures of business processes. We perform retrieval experiments to compare the performance of the devised similarity algorithms.
