  • This paper is concerned on kinematic analysis and simulation of an automatic feeding mechanism subjected by the motion of a curvilinear inverse can. The curvilinear cam is rotated by positioning a translating roller and the automatic feeding mechanism is moved to the sliding position by the motion of a campin fixed on the curvilinear cam. The curvilinear cam consists of two arcs of circles and two straight lines. The modular approach is used for the kinematic analysis of the feeding mechanism. As the first part of the paper for the motion simulation of the cam-feeding system, this paper discusses the algorithm to simulate the motion of the cam-feeding mechanism. 새로운6자유도 병렬형 햅틱 기구의 최적설계 및 해석 (A New 6-DOF Parallel Haptic Device: Optimum Design and Analysis)

  • A new 6-DOF parallel haptic device is proposed. Many existing haptic devices require large power due to having floating actuator and also have small workspaces. The proposed new mechanism can generate 6-DOF reflecting force. This device is relatively light by employing non-floating actuators and has large workspace. Kinematic analysis and kinematic optimal design is performed for this mechanism. Dexterous workspace, global isotropic index, and global maximum force transmission ratio are considered as kinematic design indices. To deal with such multi-criteria optimization problem. composite design index is employed. For the given operational specifications, actuator sizing for this mechanism is also carried out.

  • This paper presents a high-speed automatic micro-alignment system that is a part of an inspection machine for small-sized molded lenses of mobile phones, palm-top computers, and so on. This work was motivated by the shortcomings of existing highest-grade commercial machine. A simple tip/tilt/Z parallel mechanism is designed based on kinematic couplings, which is a 3-degree-of-freedom (3-DOF) moderate-cost alignment stage. It is used to automatically adjust the posture of each lens on the tray, which is impossible by the conventional instrument. Amplified piezoelectric actuators are used to ensure the accuracy and dynamic response. Forward kinematic analysis and simulation show that the parasitic motion is small enough compared to the actuator stroke. From the workspace analysis of the moving platform, it is clear that the output motion range satisfies the design requirements.

  • This paper presents the dimensional synthesis and kinematic analysis of the RSCS-SSP motion generating spatial mechanism using the displacement matrix method. This type of spatial mechani는 is used for the Mcpherson suspension in small automobiles. It is modeled for the wheel bump/rebound and steering motion. First, the suspension is modeled as a multiloop spatial rigid body guidance mechanism for the two major motions. Then the design equations for SSP, RS, and SC strut links are applied to synthesize an RSCS-SSP for up to three prescribed positions for the steering motiom from the suspension design specification. Thus a RSCS-SSP mechanism which is synthesized is also analyzed for the displacement during the steering motion.

  • This paper deals with the issue of kinematic modeling and analysis of a toggle mechanism. Based on the mathematic model of a conventional five-point type toggle mechanism. New five-point type toggle mechanism has been analyzed by computer simulation method. A sensitivity ratio has been defined and analyzed to compare its performance with four-point type toggle mechanism. A cycloidal motion has been applied to the cross head as an input and the motion of the moving platen is considered as an output. The effect of link design parameter as well as the type of toggle has been investigated by computer simulation to be available for industrial applications of injection molding machines.

  • This work deals with the kinematic and dynamic optimal design of a six degree-of-freedom Stewart Platform mechanism, which is actuated by six prismatic cylinfers. Composite design index is employed to deal with multi-criteria based design in a systematic manner, and a sequential design method is suggested, in which the results from the kinematic optimization are employed in the following dynamic optimization.

  • Recently, wash plate type hydraulic axial piston motors are being in extensively used in the world, because of simple design, lightweight, effective cost. But the structural problem of swash plate type hydraulic axial piston motor is the limited angle of swash plate and lateral force having a undesirable effect in piston. To solve these problems. a connecting rod mechanism. which is commonly used in hent axis type motors, is considered to be applied the swash plate cype motor. In this paper, kinematic analysis is done on the connecting rod mechanism. A series of formula are derived and numerical calculations are done for a set of motor parameters.

  • Recently, swash plate type hydraulic axial piston motors/pumps are being extensively used in the world, because of simple design, light weight and effective cost. Structural problem of the swash plate type motor/pump is that tilting angle of swash plate should be limited to relatively small value and lateral farce on pistons has an undesirable effect in reciprocating motion. To solve these problems, piston rod mechanism, which is commonly used in bent axis type motor/pump, is considered to be applied to the swash plate type motor/pump. In this paper, kinematic analysis was done on the piston rod mechanism. A series of formula were derived and numerical calculations were done for a set of motor parameters.

  • This paper is concerned with the kinematic analysis of several linkage drives for mechanical presses. Load and velocity characteristics of conventional presses are illustrated and a design of new drive for a mechanical press is represented. In this regard, a crank-slider mechanism with arc crank-pin guide is introduced and compared with other linkage drives. Kinematic performances are analyzed in respect of load capacity, slide velocity characteristics using a developed SS-Plot program. The new linkage drive turns out to be effective in terms of load and velocity characteristics, and productivity.
