단결정 태양전지의 단락 및 개방 시 노광에 의한 초기 출력저하 비교 분석 (Analysis and comparison of initial performance degradation for single crystalline silicon solar cell under open and short circuit)

  • It is well-known that Boron-doped Cz Si solar cells suffer light-induced degradation due to boron-oxygen defect which is responsible of a reduction in lifetime and hence efficiency. In this paper, we assume that PV solar cell has been connected with variable load to account the real operating condition and it shows different light-induced degradation of Si solar cell. To evaluate the effect of light-induced degradation for solar cell with various load, Single crystalline solar cells are connected with open and short circuits during light exposure. Isc-Voc curve evaluate light induced degradation of solar cells and the reason is explained as a change for serial resistance. From the results, Electrical characteristics of solar cells show better performance under short circuit conditions, after light exposure.

10 kW급 접시형 태양열발전시스템 사업모델 개발 및 운전특성 분석 (Development of 10 kW Dish-Stirling System for Commercialization and Analysis of Operating Characteristics)

  • In order to develop commercial model of 10kW dish-Stirling solar thermal power system, modification for the exiting facility was taken for a year as a Leading Project in KIER. During the project, solar tracking system, control and monitoring system and high durability reflector were developed and long term operation were performed. The solar tracking system was tested for four months to investigate the degree of precision and adapted to the control system for an actual operation from October in 2009. The sun tracking accuracy of ${\pm}4$ mrad using modified control system was obtained and the system operated successfully during the experimental period. The monitoring system displays engine pressure, electric generation amounts, generator RPM, receiver temperatures, and etc. from Stirling engine and weather data of Direct Normal Irradiation, Horizontal Global Insolation, wind speed & direction, and atmosphere temperature from weather station. According to the operating results in a clear sky day, electric power of 6,890 W was generated at the DNI value of 850 W/$m^2$ and the averaged solar-to-electricity efficiency during a whole day reached to 18.99%. From the overall operating results, linear power generation trend could be observed with increasing DNI value. The solar-to-electricity efficiency achieved to 19% around the DNI value of 700 W/$m^2$ and increased to 20% when the DNI value goes up to 900 W/$m^2$.

플러스에너지하우스 설계 및 에너지 성능 평가 (Design and Energy Performance Evaluation of Plus Energy House)

  • South Korea aims to shift the 20 percent of electricity supplement from the fossil fuel including the nuclear to renewable energy systems by 2030. In order to realize this agenda in the buildings, the plus energy house is necessary to increase the renewable energy supplement beyond the zero energy house. This paper suggested KePSH (KIER Energy-Plus Solar House) and energy performance of house and renewable energy systems was investigated. The KePSH has the target of generating 40% surplus energy than the conventional house energy consumption. The plus energy house is the house that generates surplus energy from the renewable energy sources than that consumes. In order to minimize the cooling and heating load of the house, the shape design and passive parameters design were conducted. Based on the experimental data of the plug load in the typical house, the total energy consumption of the house was estimated. This paper also suggested renewable energy sources integrated HVAC system using air-source heat pump system. Two cases of renewable energy system integration methods were suggested, and energy performance of the cases was investigated using TRNSYS 17 program. The results showed that the BIPV (building integrated photovoltaic) system (i.e., CASE 1) and BIPV and BIST system (i.e., CASE 2) shows 42% and 29% of plus energy rate, respectivey. Also, CASE 1 can generate 59% more surplus energy compared with the CASE 2 under the same installation area.

이산화탄소 개질반응을 위한 니켈 촉매의 활성 및 성능향상 (Catalytic activities and performance enhancement of Ni catalysts for CO2 reforming)

  • 본 연구에서는 이산화탄소 개질반응에 대한 연구의 일환으로 HY-zeolite를 주요 담체로 하여 니켈촉매의 활성화 개선에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 메탄과 이산화탄소의 전환율은 반응온도가 증가함에 따라 증가하였고, $700^{\circ}C$ 이상이 되었을 때 80% 이상의 전환율을 얻었고, 니켈의 담지량이 증가함에 따라 촉매의 활성이 증가하였으며, 13wt%에서 가정 높은 활성을 보였다. 담체에 대한 영향으로 HY-zeolite 외에 ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$$SiO_2$에 니켈을 담지시켜 반응활성을 비교한 결과 메탄과 이산화탄소의 초기 전환율은 HY-zeolite에 담지된 니켈 촉매를 사용했을 때가 가장 높았으나, 시간이 지남에 따라 ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$에 담지된 니켈 촉매보다 비활성화가 빨랐지만 24시간 반응 후에도 메탄의 전환율이 80% 이상을 나타내었다. 그리고 13wt%Ni/HY-zeolite 촉매의 성능 향상을 위하여 Mg, Mn, K, Ca을 조촉매로 첨가하여 반응활성을 조사한 결과 Mg을 첨가한 촉매가 높은 활성과 안정성을 나타내었고, Mg의 최적 첨가량이 5wt%임을 확인하였다.

  • This paper presents a study on the power factor improvement of V47- 660 [kW] Wind Turbine Generation System (WTGS) in Jeju wind farm, as a model system in this paper. In this system, the power factor correction is controlled by the conventional method with power condensor banks. Also, this system has only four bank steps, and each one capacitor bank step is cut in every one second when the generator has been cut in. This means that it is difficult to compensate the reactive power exactly according to the variation of them. Actually, model system has very low power factor in the area of low wind speed, which is almost from 4 to 6 [m/s]. This is caused by the power factor correction using power condenser bank. To improve the power factor in the area of low wind speed, we used the static var compensator(SVC) using current controlled PWM power converter using IGBT switching device. Finally, to verify the proposed method, the results of computer simulation using Psim program are presented to support the discussions.

초단열 슈퍼윈도우의 건물에너지효율등급 적용 연구 (A study on the Insulation Performance of the Super Window applied to building energy efficiency rating)

  • Generally, the building's windows and ventilation for the purpose of mining and the vista and windows by emotional engineering design area is a growing trend. According to the flow of energy is lost from the building, will be achieved through the walls and roof and windows. Among these, the window through the loss of about 45% of the entire building is big enough to rate. In addition, the building regulation U-value Limitation of window is $3.3W/m^2$ K in southern regions, while U-value Limitation of wall is $0.35{\sim}0.58W/m^2$ K. It means that the energy loss through windows is six times more than it through wall. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the environmental performance of the super window system by verification experiment. The results of this study are as follows; 1)Thermal performance of insulated Super Window measured as $1.44W/m^2$ $^{\circ}C$ 2)Required energy for heating was cut down about 5.3% from 266.99 $MJ/m^2$ yr to 252.85 $MJ/m^2$ yr 3)Super Window's reduction rates increased 4.1% from 31.48% to 35.58% when it is compared to normal windows. 4)Building energy efficiency rating elevated from 2nd rating to 1st rating.

폴리아마이드계 박막복합막 제조 공정에서 계면중합의 유기용액 퍼짐 속도에 따른 표면 모폴로지의 변화 (Change of Surface Morphology with the Spreading Rate of Organic Solution During Interfacial Polymerization for Polyamide-based Thin Film Composite Membrane Manufacturing Process)

  • 계면중합법은 혼합되지 않은 두 용액에 용해되어 있는 반응성 단량체들이 계면에서 중합되는 기술로 다양한 분야에 응용되고 있다. 이 중, 수처리 분리막의 경우 m-phenylene diamine과 Trimesoyl chloride를 반응물로 사용하고 있다. 분리막의 성능은 다양한 중합 성능에 의해 영향을 받고 있으며, 본 연구에서는 유기 용액의 퍼짐 속도가 어떻게 분리막 표면 및 구조에 영향을 주는지를 주사전자현미경을 통해 고찰하였다. 퍼짐 속도는 7.6과 25 mm/sec로 조절하였으며, 유기상 용액은 1~3방울까지 조절하였다. 관찰된 결과는 퍼짐 속도가 7.6 mm/sec에서는 한 방울 떨어트릴 경우, 25 mm/sec에서는 두 방울 떨어트릴 경우 폴리아마이드 막에 균열을 발견할 수 없었다. 반면 나머지 경우에 모두 균열이 발생하였다. 따라서, 초기 유기용액의 퍼짐 속도는 폴리아마이드 분리막의 성능에 영향을 줄 것으로 관찰되었다.

알루미나에 담지된 Cu-Ce 촉매상에서의 개질수소가스에 포함된 CO의 선택적 산화 반응에 관한 연구 (The Selective Oxidation of CO in Hydrogen Rich Stream over Alumina Supported Cu-Ce Catalyst)

  • $Cu-Ce/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ based catalysts were prepared and tested for selective oxidation of CO in a $H_2$-rich stream(1% CO, 1% $O_2$, 60% $H_2$, $N_2$ as balance). The effects of Cu loading and weight ratio(=Cu/(Cu+Ce)) upon both activity and selectivity were investigated upon the change in temperatures, It was also examined how the activity and selectivity of catalysts were varied with the presence of $CO_2$ and $H_2O$ in the reactant feed. Among the various Cu-Ce catalysts with different catalytic metal composition, Cu-Ce(4 : 16 wf%) /${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ catalyst showed the highest activity(>$T_{99}$) and selectivities(50-80%) under wide range of temperatures($175-220^{\circ}C$). However, in the Cu-Ce(4 : 16 wt%)/ ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$, the presence of $CO_2$ and $H_2O$ in the reactant feed decreased the activity and the maximum activity(>$T_{99}$) in terms of reaction temperature moved by about $25^{\circ}C$ toward higher temperature, the $T_{>99}$ window was seen between $210-230^{\circ}C$ (selectivity 50-75%). From $CO_2-/H_2O-TPD$, it can be concluded that the main cause for the decrease in catalytic activity may be attributed to the blockage of the active sites by competitive adsorption of water vapor and $CO_2$ with the reactant at low temperatures.

신재생에너지 자원지도 서비스의 만족도 및 활용도 조사연구 (Survey Research on Satisfaction and Utilization of New & Renewable Energy Resource Map Service)

  • The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy is now placing emphasis on the importance of a new and renewable energy resource map service as an essential means of promoting the dissemination and adoption of renewable energy and other related industrial activities. To raise satisfaction with the new and renewable energy resource map service and promote its utilization, a survey was conducted on a sample group with an academic research background, i.e. employees of the Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER) who have a thorough understanding of the technological concepts behind the new and renewable energy resource map. Statistical analysis of the survey results showed a high level of overall satisfaction with the web service for the new and renewable energy resource map. Therefore, it was concluded that the development of practical contents rather than the enhancement of web service convenience is required. A statistically significant trend was also observed whereby, the longer the professional career of the survey respondents, the greater their perception and utilization of, and satisfaction with, the enhanced service, which indicates that their level of understanding and utilization of technological concepts corresponds to their research experience record. In addition, the results obtained from the questionnaires regarding the evaluation of the utilization value of the resource map service indicated that use of the service was equally high in terms of political, business and academic applications. The results confirmed the need to develop multidimensional resource map contents that can be applied to as many fields as possible, rather than focusing on a specific terrain.

한국(韓國) 남부지역(南部地域)의 지각구조(地殼構造) (Crustal Structure of the Southern Part of Korea)

  • Events detected by the KIER microearthquake network operated in the Southern Part of Korea for 265 days in 1982~1984 were reviewed, and some of them were identified to be a dynamite explosion from several construction sites. The purpose of the present work is to determine the crustal structure of the Southern Korea using the time-destance data obtained from such explosion seismic records. The time·distance data can be well explained by a crustal model composed of four horizontal layers of which thickness, p and s-wave velocity ($V_p$ and $V_s$) are characterized as follows. 1st layer (surface) ; 0~2km, $V_p=5.5km/sec$, $V_s=3.3km/sec$ 2nd layer (upper crust) ; 2~15km, $V_p=6.0km/sec$, $V_s=3.5km/sec$ 3rd layer (lower crust) ; 15~29km, $V_p=6.6km/sec$, $V_s=3.7km/sec$ 4th layer (upper mantle) ; 29km~ , $V_p=7.7km/sec$, $V_s=4.3km/sec$ The relatively shallow crust·mantle boundary and low $P_n$ velocity compared with the mean values for stable intraplate region are noteworthy. Supposedely, it is responsible for the high heat flow in the South-eastern Korea or an anomalous subterranean mantle. The mean $V_p/V_s$ ratio calculated from the relation between p-wave arrival and s-p arrival times appears to be 1.735 which is nearly equivalent to the elastic medium of ${\lambda}={\mu}$. However, the ratio tends to be slightly larger with the depth. The ratio is rather high compared with that of the adjacent Japanese Island, and the fact suggests that the underlying crust and upper mantle in this region are more ductile and hence the earthquake occurrences are apt to be interrupted. As an alternative curstal model, a seismic velocity structure in which velocities are successively increased with the depth is also proposed by the inversion of the time·distance data. With the velocity profile, it is possible to calculate a travel time table which is appropriate to determine the earthquake parameters for the local events.
