The Influence of Organizational Characteristic of Domiciliary Visit Care Center on Job Stress -with Focus on Seoul Metropolitan Government Care Worker- (방문요양센터 조직특성이 직무스트레스에 미치는 영향 -서울시 요양보호사 중심으로-)

  • The aim of this study is to look into the influential factors on the care-workers-perceived job stress level according as the elderly-perceived satisfaction varies depending on care workers' organizational characteristic & attitudes toward work, and there's necessity of reducing their job stress. Hereupon, this study, targeting the care workers at domiciliary visit care centers in Seoul district, analyzed the influential factors of organizational factors consisting of the sub-factors, such as job autonomy, compensation, education and development, members' interrelationship, etc. on the perception level of job stress. As a result of analysis, it was found that the shorter their working hours, the more their salary, the more guaranteed their job autonomy, and the better their interrelationship is, the care workers at a domiciliary visit care center had a positive perception of job stress. Accordingly, the operators of domiciliary visit care centers are requested to have a lot more concerns for diverse forms of improvements which can not only improve care workers' working conditions, such as daily working hours and a pay level but also promote a sense of fellowship between members; in addition, it is hoped that the operators should improve the organizational environment so that care workers can freely carry out their assigned business with a sense of responsibility rather than relying on control and regulation.

The Effect of Burnout in Non-profit Organization Worker's on Organizational Effectiveness -A Focus on the Healthy Family Support Center and Multicultural Family Support Center (비영리기관 종사자의 소진이 조직효과성에 미치는 영향 - 건강가정지원센터와 다문화가족지원센터를 중심으로)

  • This study focused on the Healthy Family Support Center and Multicultural Family Support Center, which supervise the main field of family resource management with institutional household factors. Our research objective was to present datas demonstrating an improvement in the organizational effectiveness of the Multicultural Family Support Center. The burn out average of employees working for the non-profit organization was 2.45, emotional burnout was 2.87, achievement was 2.43, and dehumanization was 2.06. The effectiveness average of the nonprofit organization was 3.56, profitability was 3.65, job satisfaction was 3.58, and organizational commitment was 3.45. The generic characters that caused burnout were age, information, and professionalism in research. The generic characters and burnout that affected the organizational effectiveness included a lack of accomplishment, and emotional exhaustion, and depersonalization, lack of information and professionalism, lack of external resources in that order. The purpose of this research was to determine the effects of burnout in order to prevent job changes and to provide basic data for the improvement of organizational effectiveness.

Stress and Coping of Manufacturing Male Workers (생산직 남성 근로자의 스트레스와 대처유형)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify stress and coping patterns of manufacturing male workers. Method: Data were collected from 215 manufacturing male workers and analyzed by SPSS WIN 12.0 Results: The total job stress score was 41.41 and the mean of the daily hassles score was 1.60. Related to the coping type, direct-active coping was the highest among four types of coping. Indirect-active coping was the second, followed by direct-passive coping and indirect-passive coping. Job stress score and daily hassles score were highly correlated by passive coping types. Conclusion: Occupational health management program including coping strategy is required to relieve workers' stress.

Influence of Job Stress and Depression on Suicide Ideation of Women-workers in Service Industries (서비스업 종사 직장여성의 직무 스트레스와 우울이 자살생각에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship of job stress, depression and to identify factors influencing suicide ideation of women-workers. Methods: The research was a cross-sectional, descriptive study. Data collection was done using self-report questionnaires with 348 women-workers who agreed to participate in the study. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ${\chi}^2$-test, logistic regression analysis by using SPSS/WIN 18.0. Results: The results showed, among the independent variables, drinking, job stress, depression are significant factors that influence women-workers' suicide ideation. Women-workers' depression is 3.05 times higher (p<.002), and job stress 1.03 times higher suicide ideation (p<.045), and drinking 2.15 times higher suicidal ideation (p<.006). Conclusion: The results indicate that suicide ideation is highly prevalent in women-workers, especially among people with depression and job stress. It is necessary to seek how to prevent and manage women-workers' suicide ideation considering features.

Factor Analysis and Intergroup Awareness Investigation of Workers' Safety in Logistic Center (물류센터 근로자의 안전인식에 대한 요인분석 및 집단간 인식 비교)

  • This study is to examine the workers' awareness of the safety in logistic centers. For that purpose, the exploratory factor analysis of workers' safety awareness in logistic centers was performed at first, and the 6 variables extracted from the factor analysis were then used to investigate the difference in intergroup awareness of the safety environment in the logistic centers. We administered a survey to 147 workers attending the logistic centers and collected data from them. The results of the study showed that the intergroup awareness of the safety environment turned out to be statistically different from each other in terms of working environment, safe behavior, work risk, safety knowledge and effort, risk justification and compromising attitudes. Experiences in industrial accidents influenced awareness of working environment, work risk and risk justification. The group who experienced accidents is more likely to feel risky and unsatisfied with working place, and their awareness toward risk justification was high as well. It was also observed that there exists awareness difference between manager group and worker group. The group who manages the working place showed more positive awareness of working environment, safe behavior, work risk, safety knowledge and effort, risk justification and compromising attitudes than the worker group. On the contrary, the worker group showed high recognition in risk of working place, and felt that they are willing to compromise on safety for increasing production. The scale of the logistic center produced negative influence on awareness of safety. The group in small logistic center showed the highest awareness in safety, whereas the group in large logistic center with more than 100 workers showed the highest awareness in risk. They are more likely to deviate from correct and safe work procedures due to over-familiarity with the job, as well. The findings suggest that there is a need for the safety management and education to change the workers' understanding and attitudes towards safety.

  • In this paper, I show the factors which have an effect on the emotional exhaustion and turnover intention in call center workers who perform emotional labor using telephone without direct confronting with clients. I empirically show that emotional exhaustion decreases job satisfaction and increases turnover intention. Therefore the emotional exhaustion is the important managing factor for efficient management of call center. To weaken emotional exhaustion, it is necessary to decrease time pressure in call center work. To weaken turnover intention, it is important to strengthen superior support. This study makes a contribution in providing the fact that emotional exhaustion is an important managing factor in administration of call center worker.

The Effects of the Psychological Capital on the Job Performance of Social Workers in Welfare Center for the Disabled (장애인복지관 사회복지사의 심리적 자본이 직무수행에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the relationship between psychological capital and job performance of social workers at welfare centers for the disabled. For that purpose, a self-reported questionnaire survey was conducted on 900 social workers at welfare center for the disabled nationwide, and a total of 864 copies of data were used for the final analysis. As a result of the main analysis, first, there was a positive(+) correlation between self-efficacy, hope, optimism, resilience which are the sub-elements of psychological capital, and contextuality and task performance, which are the sub-elements of job performance. Second, among the sub-elements of psychological capital, self-efficacy and hope showed statistically significant positive(+) effects on task performance. Third, it was found that optimism as well as self-efficacy and hope had a statistically significant positive(+) effect on contextual performance. Based on those findings, this study suggested practical and policy alternatives to improve the job performance of social workers at welfare centers for the disabled.

A Study on the Care Worker's Working Condition and Wage with Public Data of the NHIC (공공데이터를 활용한 요양보호사 근로실태 및 임금 분석)

  • In December 2014, the study analyzed the wage level of Long-term Care Facilities reported by the National Health Insurance Organization Database. From 2008 to 2014, 1,231.357 people in Korea were acquired qualification for care worker. This study tries to the wage of 1,221,085 care workers. We found out that 91.3% of all are women, and 41% out of care worker qualification were between 50-59 years old. And only 14.8% were employed as care workers. About 73.2% of the nursing care workers had less than 3 years of service at the current job, and their wages were 129.2 million won per month for Nursing Home and 6,421 won per hour for the home care center. In order to investigate care workers, it needs to distinguish between Nursing Home and home care center, and it was also confirmed that wage increases was not reached. In addition, we can question the effect of improvement allowance for better working condition, and suggest fundamental problems for care workers' wage and status.

The Study on the effects of Job Stress of Female Caregivers in Home-based Elderly Welfare Center on Turnover Intention: Self-elasticity as a controlling variable (재가노인복지센터 여성 요양보호사의 직무스트레스가 이직의도에 미치는 영향: 자아탄력성을 조절변인으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to understand the effect of job stress of female caregivers working in home-based elderly welfare centers on turnover intentions and to understand the moderating effect of self-elasticity in these relationships. The subject of the study was a self-written questionnaire survey of 170 nursing care workers at 28 home-based elderly welfare centers in Seoul, and 150 copies were collected and 133 people were finally analyzed excluding 17 unscrupulous responses. As a result of the study, first, the average value of turnover intention was high in the group with low experience of female caregivers at home-based elderly welfare centers and the group without religion. Second, the higher the job stress of nursing care workers, the higher the intention of turnover. Third, there was a moderating effect of self-elasticity between the job stress and the of turnover of nursing care workers. Therefore, it was necessary to consider measures to prevent job stress of nursing caregivers and improve self-resilience.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find empirical studies the causal relationship among positive defining representation, negative defining representation, surface acting, deep acting, dissatisfaction of job, and intention of job transfer. Methods: The collected data through the survey by customer satisfaction team of "A" company call center. Results: The result of this study is that emotion and behavior norm influence on deep act of expressing both positive impacts of the employees. Conclusion: Feelings of corporate representation norm is psychologically of employees that because it affects even also must facilitate the surface acts and internal acts of employees and job dissatisfaction at the same time due to emotional dissonance and emotional exhaustion and turnover are hidden on the back emotion norms in the contact department, it should be aware of the need to address the emotional problems. Companies need to develop a variety of programs with attention to addressing the emotional difficulties experienced by workers.
