Purpose : The objective of this research is to explore the correlation between personality and degree of job-satisfaction among nursing profession in order to provide effective guide for HR management and nursing care. Method : The research has been conducted on hundred sixty four nurses working in C university hospital in Seoul, from February 23 to March 7 of 2002, through survey. For the experimental tools, I have used Young-Hwan Kim's MMPI(1988) personality test and Slavitt's job-satisfaction test(1978) which were improved by Eun-Seuk Lee(1988). The acquired data are analyzed through SPSS program using descriptive statistical method, t-test, One way ANOVA and Pearson Correlation coefficient analysis. Results : Most survey score were within normal range of personality measurement and Masculinity-Femininity scored high compare with the rest. Overall job-satisfaction score showed fairly high level of 3.01; in the order of high score, 3.43 for reciprocal action, 3.41 for job requirement, 3.20 for autonomy, 3.15 for professional status, 2.96 for doctor-nurse relationship, 2.54 for administration and 2.38 for compensation. Analysis based of social demographics showed that the degree of paranoia depends on the age, marriage, nursing experience, education, professional status and salary. Also, marriage had significant influence on the score of hysteria, psychopathic deviation, paranoia, psychasthenia, schizophrenia and masculinity-femininity. Test score showed that, based on the general characteristic of nursing profession, job-satisfaction depends on the age and professional status. The relationship between personality and job-satisfaction showed that depression score and social introversion score have statistically significant negative correlation with job-satisfaction. Conclusion : this research revealed that depression and social introversion are characteristics identified to have significant influence over job-satisfaction of nurses, among many characteristics.
This study analyzes the effect of job crafting behavior on career satisfaction and job satisfaction that allows active participants to perform their jobs in a work environment where autonomy and delegation are emphasized, and how the degree of person-job fit plays a role in the relationship between the three variables. The results of an empirical analysis of 360 employees of domestic companies are as follows. First, job crafting was found to have a positive (+) effect on career satisfaction and job satisfaction, respectively, confirming the importance of job crafting in a situation where the work environment changes rapidly. Second, job crafting was found to have a positive (+) effect on desire-supply fit and ability-demand fit, respectively, which are components of person-job fit. This means that person-job fit can be improved through task, cognitive, and relationship crafting. Third, it was found that desire-supply fit and ability-demand fit had a positive (+) effect on career satisfaction and job satisfaction. This means that the higher the person-job fit the more satisfied the career and job. Finally, desire-supply fit has a partial mediating effect in the relationship between job crafting, career satisfaction, and job satisfaction and ability-demand fit has a partial mediating effect in the relationship between job crafting, job satisfaction. In summarizing the above research results, this study suggested in a changing organizational environment that it is necessary to provide individual active work performance (job crafting) opportunities for career satisfaction and job satisfaction, and that it is important to create an organization's support environment to enhance person-job fit.

Purpose: This study examined the association of job satisfaction and job stress with the self regulation of nurses. Method: This research was descriptive in its design and used a self-administered questionnaire. The study subjects were 173 nurses who worked in the three university teaching hospitals. The instruments used in the study were self-regulation scale, job satisfaction scale and job stress scale. The data were analyzed by ANOVA, t-test, Pearson Correlation Coefficient, and multiple regression. Results: The mean score of self regulation, job satisfaction and job stress were 4.58, 1.90 and 3.31, respectively. The degree of error and confidence in decision making of the study subjects was associated with the extent of job satisfaction and job stress. Conclusion: Self regulation made an influence in a statistically significant way on nurses' job satisfaction and job stress. Therefore, we need to develop strategies to enhance the self regulation of nurses to improve their job satisfaction and job stress in a positive way.

Understanding the satisfaction and dissatisfaction of employees has been deemed important for smooth and efficient food service management. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between the dishwashing employees' job satisfaction and the operational and managerial factors in hospital foodservice systems. A survey of twenty conventional hospital food service systems was undertaken and detailed information was collected from 280 dishwashing employees through mailed questionnaires. Dishwashing employees' satisfaction was evaluated by measuring their job attitudes towards four aspects of their job using the modified Job Description Index (JDI). Descriptive analysis and Pearson product moment correlation analysis were used to analyze the data. The dishwashing workers were found to be more satisfied with their interpersonal relations with co-workers than with work content, pay or promotional opportunities. The demographic variables including education, type of employment and work experience were significantly related to job satisfaction. The significant factors of the family strengths in the husband were relied on the person who moved, meeting cycle of conjugal, conjugal periods, self-esteem and the degree of coping strategy, whereas for the wife they were the educational degree, religion, kind of job, commuting periods, the person who moved, meeting cycle of conjugal, self-esteem and the degree of coping strategy. 3) There was a close correlation between the marital satisfaction and family strengths in the husband and wife of commuting couples.
The purpose of this study was to measure the job aspiration and examine the relationship between that and job satisfaction for wage-earners using the fourth Korean Working Conditions Survey(KWCS). We use the stochastic frontier model for measuring the job aspiration and testing its effect on the job satisfaction. Fstochastic frontier model is introduced to explain that each company potentially produces less than it might due to a degree of job aspiration, measured by decomposing the residuals. In this model framework, it can be regard that the upper bound of the job satisfaction is the ideal frontier, and the bias between the ideal condition and the reality is the job aspiration. If this concept is applicable to the job aspiration, we can measure this bias and investigate a relationship with the job satisfaction. We find that there exists the job aspiration, and it is significantly negatively correlated with the job satisfaction. This result supports that if job aspiration increases, job satisfaction level decreases.
