  • The value of platform companies is rapidly increasing, exerting significant influence across industries. Identifying and fostering promising platform companies is crucial for enhancing national competitiveness. Consequently, tailored evaluation standards are necessary for such companies. This study derived investment decision factors specific to platform companies and compared the importance of each factor using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) analysis. Key factors included platform characteristics, finance, entrepreneur (team), market, and product/service attributes. The findings revealed that platform characteristics were deemed the most crucial factor for investors. Specifically, factors such as platform size, ease of value fixation, core participant group, and data value were identified as pertinent for evaluating platform companies. Moreover, analysis distinguished between investors with prior platform investment experience and those without. Significantly, investors with platform investment experience placed greater emphasis on the value of data secured by platform Furthermore, it was observed that investors prioritized future value and growth potential over current value when investing in platform. Notably, founder/team characteristics, typically highly regarded in previous studies, ranked lower in importance in this study, highlighting a shift in focus. The discrepancy between this study's results and prior research on investment decision factors is attributed to the specificity of the questions posed. By focusing on investment decision factors for platform startups rather than generic startup inquiries, investor responses aligned more closely with platform-focused considerations. Given the burgeoning venture investment landscape, there's a growing need for detailed research on startups within specific sectors like IT, travel, and biotech. This approach can replace extensive research covering all startup types to identify investment decision factors suited to the characteristics of each individual industry.

  • Purpose: The purpose of research is to explore the factors influencing the intention to adopt altcoin investments, based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology. Through this, it seeks to elucidate the key factors impacting altcoin investment adoption, and provide a comprehensive understanding of the crypto-currency market and investor behavior. Methods: This study analyzed factors affecting altcoin investment intentions using frequency and descriptive analyses, and verified socio-demographic differences with t-tests and ANOVA. Exploratory factor and correlation analyses were conducted for research tool validity and relationship assessment among variables. Hypotheses were tested through regression analysis, integrating control, independent, and moderating variables, along with interaction terms, to establish the model and examine moderating effects. Results: As a result, it is revealed that higher age and experience in crypto-currency investment are associated with intention to invest. Among the independent variables, performance expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, and personal innovativeness have positive effects to investment intention to invest, while effort expectancy had a negative effect. The moderating variable, perceived risk, also negatively affected the intention to invest. Notably, significant moderating effects of perceived risk were observed in the relationships between investment intention and both performance expectancy and personal innovativeness. Conclusion: This study provides empirical verification into consumers' intentions to invest in altcoins, offering insights into investors' behavior and decision-making processes based on a practical understanding of altcoin investment acceptance.

  • To get legitimacy of a security investment, the analysis of ROI about the security investment is required. In this paper, we suggest a practical quantitative model with considering factors that do decision-making of optimized security investment difficult. This model makes use of the value of a residual risk to decide the best information security solution and considers a corelation of response techniques of the information security solution against each threat to do exact decision-making.

  • It is difficult to justify an IT investment unless the investment is expected to have a direct impact on a corporation's performance under rapidly changing business environment. It is important to demonstrate the benefit of the investment through a pre-investment assessment process to induce the executive's decision. This paper presents a methodology to assess the investment by analyzing cost and benefit of the investment. This methodology shows tangible cost as well as hidden cost by analyzing total cost of ownership. The methodology also produces ROI by performing cost benefit analysis including financial and non-financial factors. This paper suggests a systematic way to support If investment decision marking process by evaluating the investment objectively.

  • Accelerators that invest in early startups, as well as nursery and overall management, have recently emerged as "key players" in the startup ecosystem. This can be proved by the case where the number of domestic accelerators registered in the Korean Ministry of SMEs and Startups has recently reached 208. Accelerators provide the necessary education for early-stage companies, including guidance for a certain period of time, and support startups in ways such as demo days to attract subsequent investment after the seed investment. There is not much research in academia about what factors impact on these accelerators when making investment decisions at the time of seed investment. In this study, we checked the meaning and function of the accelerator and tried to analyze what factors affect on accelerators when making a decision to invest in startups. The research method is based on a literature survey of previous studies on investment decision-making factors of venture capital and angel investors, and a lens model and judgment analysis method through empirical research targeting 43 accelerator investment decision-makers. Empirical analysis shows that accelerators have three of the key factors to consider when choosing the first startup to invest and educate; entrepreneurs' entrepreneurial traits, their product and service expertise and a potential return on success. This will provide an opportunity for early startups to gain strategic access to accelerators when they need money or need a structured educational program. Also, the results obtained through this research will be a kind of guideline for startups to attract accelerators' investment. The significance of this study is that discriminatory evidence was presented on the accelerator determinants of investment, and it would be highly suggestive to startups and related public institutions.

  • The main purpose of this research is to analyze the changes in investment motivation by year through time series and cross-sectional analysis of the factors and investment decisions of Korean manufacturing companies. According to the investment pattern for Asean from the 1980s to the 19th, the first expansion period was 82 to 86, the average increase in overseas investment for securing foreign raw materials due to the second oil shock, and the second expansion period was a gradual increase in exports to the U.S. in 1987 to 1996. During the first stagnation period, direct investment in Asean stagnated in the aftermath of the 1998-05 Asian crisis, and in the third expansion period, part of the production facilities invested in China were relocated to Asean, increasing Asean's investment to become Korea's largest manufacturing investment in 17. Korea's proportion of investment in Asean surpassed that of mass investment since 10 years ago, and the proportion of investment in manufacturing sector has been transferred from China to Asean, and after 17 years, it has served as an overseas production base connecting China. As such, The main purpose of the research will be to extract the determinant factors and key factors for overseas direct investment and investment patterns in conjunction with global manufacturing companies' production base relocation and investment trends through empirical analysis. This research paper gave basic reference to the motivation and determinant of investment 16 years ago, and analyzed the changes in investment motivation by year and content through empirical analysis, contributing some reasonable purpose to the decision of companies and policy makers interested in overseas direct investment.
