Measurement and Analysis of Transient Voltage for an Inverter-fed Induction Motor (인버터 구동 유도전동기에서 과도전압의 측정과 분석)

  • Induction motors are widely used as a source of driving force in electric vehicles and pulse width modulation (PWM) inverters are applied to their operation. The issue is that insulation of inverter-fed induction motors (IFMs) are more stressed than in line-powered motors by transient voltages. This paper dealt with experimental results on transient voltage produced by the PWM operation of an induction motor. The peak and the dv/dt of transient voltage depending on the length of power feeding cable and operating frequency were investigated. In the experiment, transient voltages up to 3.3PU of the rated-inverter voltage were recorded for the cable length of 50m. As the cable length is increased, the peak voltage appeared at the motor terminals increases. This phenomenon can be explained by the reflection and the transmission of travelling wave. Consequently, special care for the cable length between the motor and the inverter should be taken in the use of IFM to ensure the full life of insulation system.

  • This paper was described about principle and form of proposed circuit made use of soft switching technology ZVS(Zero Voltages Switching) and ZCS(Zero Current Switching) to reduce turn on and off loss at switching. Also, the analysis of the proposed circuit is described generally by using normalized parameter and basic operating principle and driving characteristics have been evaluated as to switching frequency and load p arameter. Based on the characteristics value, a method of circuit design is proposed. In addition, Pspice's simulation and experimental waveforms are compared with theoretical ones. The experimental results shows that the proposed Inverter can be used practically such as power source system for induction cooker etc.

  • This paper describes a output power control of magnetron for microwave oven. Magnetron is used extensively in household microwave oven and industrial microwave heating devices it is operated by 3000[V]~5000[V] dc high voltage. Power supply for driving magnetron is consisted of a bridge rectifier. HB(half bridge) inverter, full wave rectifier and gate drive circuit. In proposed system. we confirm that line input power can be controlled extensively and linearly to 24.56[%] by change of duty ratio of inverter through a experiment.

  • This paper presents an electric scooter development using blushless DC motor. In recent scooters was to develop for sport leisure and short transportation. Most of scooter are used petroleum gas. This gas scooter has disadvantage to pollute the air. Some of scooters have developed by DC motor which require a brush. However brushless motors have higher maximum speed and greater capacity, save maintenance labour and produce less noise. There is also greater freedom in planing the usage of brushless motors. In this paper we develop an electric scooter driving BLDC motor for design smart system and control speed of scooter with current reference signal to apply voltage to motor by means of three phase inverter. Using accelerator device we generate current reference to control speed and send the current to a MICOM by A/D converter. This MICOM produces the voltage signal and hall sensors signal and PWM controller drive three phase inverter to minimize error between the reference and an actual current.

  • A series of tests were performed to verify the transient characteristics of heat pump in heating and cooling mode when operating speed was varied over the 30 to 102Hz. One of the major issues that has not been addressed so far is transient characteristics during speed modulation. The model for cycle simulation has been developed to predict the cycle performance under conditions of decreasing drive frequency and the results of the theoretical study were compared with the results of the experimental study. The simulated results were in good agreement with the experimental result within 10%. The transient cycle migration of the liquid state refrigerant causes significant dynamic change in system. Thus, the migration of refrigerant was the most important factor whenever do experimental results analysis or develop simulation model.

  • In this study, we developed the inverter system to control Induction motor for the vertically circulation parking facility. In the case of calling a pallet, a car parking space, we basically stoned conventional system's problems, pallet is uncontrollable to the fixed position and braking system was worn by forcer braking with remaining speed. Also, by appling to converter controller, added to power regenerative control function, we confirmed the reduce of power supply capacity and the energy saving effect according to increasing operation frequency. The validity of this system is verified by 55kw induction motor driving system. Via this study, the proposed system shows the efficient use of parking facility and good operation characteristics by implementing position and speed control effectively on condition of load and shows energy saying effect by power factor control for the vertically circulation parking facility operation.

  • The purpose of this study is developing a converter which is able to convert a 300[KW] power, and is a DC power supply output a 1500[V] DC voltage for inverter driving. The power converter is driven by two converter serisely and keep a high power factor of power source. This system is haven all the characteristic of voltage source converter by having a processing ability of regenerating power. The two converters controls a PWM modulation and output voltage using a only one 16 bit DSP processor.

  • In this paper, the control algorithm of DC source device for inverter starting is proposed and the control method for compensating unbalance system source on operating time in the voltage type PWM converter with driving and regenerative faculty is suggested. The maintaining way of balancing condition for converter of AC source is used the compensating unbalanced status by current control loop. Because it is possible that the unbalanced System control is used to leakage transformer not equaled reactance by each phase in rectifier system, the proposed H/W and control algorithm of rectifier system is contributed to minimize of device and rising efficiency.
