The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of the invention animations on the invention attitudes of elementary school students. This study was conducted with a pre-and-post test experimental design. The participants were 73 students from J elementary school in Daejeon. Among them, 36 students were the experiment group and 37 students were the comparison group. Watching invention animations were conducted in a classroom everyday for 24 times. Assessments of Invention Attitudes were administered to all the participants during the pre-test and post-test. To analyze the data, the analysis of covariance(ANCOVA) was adopted. The result of this study was as follows: The experimental group who watched invention animations showed significantly higher improvement in Invention Attitudes and sub-factors of Invention Attitudes(Attentional Attitude, Emotional Attitude, Cognitional Attitude) than the comparison group. In conclusion, watching invention animations had positive effect on the invention attitudes of elementary school students.
Education about invention in elementary schools has thus far be conducted mostly through special activities and talented activities rather than through normal curricula. However, with the implementation of the 2007 amended curricula, invention education was reflected as a normal subject unit in the practical subject (technology and home economics) curricula, thereby laying groundwork for invention education being able to be provided through normal subject classes. Thus, at the time when invention education has been reflected as a normal subject unit, it is meaningful to research the effects of elementary school students' experience in invention education on their invention attitudes. This study sought to research the effects of elementary school students' experience or non-experience in invention education on their invention attitudes, targeting those in regional talent private schools who did not take invention talent classes, those who received invention education, and those who did not receive invention education at all. The conclusion of this study is outlined as follows. First, students' experience in invention education proved to be positive in boosting their invention attitude, and continued invention education experience like with students in regional talent invention schools significantly boosted their invention attitudes. Second, considering that students' actual experience in invention education had positive effects on their invention attitudes, the reflection of invention education in the amended curricula was found to be very desirable in improving elementary students' attitudes about invention. Third, according to gender, male students' invention attitude level was found to be higher than that of female students, suggesting that male students more worked on computers, electronic (smart) devices and machines in daily life, leading them to further develop invention attitudes.
While the importance of needs and effectiveness of counseling for the gifted and talented has been actively studied, factors that practitioners and researchers have to consider in designing counseling programs less have been studied. The main aim of this study is to establish a foundation of counseling for the gifted and talented research by investigating factors which impede gifted youths' intentions toward counseling and by suggesting structural model which explains the relationships between the factors. The author(s) investigated the effects of parental emphasis on academics, personal emphasis on academics, attitudes toward seeking professional help, surrounding attitudes for consultation on gifted youths' intentions. The result shows that the effects of parental emphasis to academics on gifted youths' intentions toward counseling are mediated by attitudes toward seeking professional help and surrounding attitudes for consultation. Implications, limitations, and future research directions are discussed.

The purpose of this research is to investigate and analyze the attitudes and images of middle school students toward invention. This aims to provide basic data on qualitative improvement invention education. The results of this research are as follows: First, as for middle school students, the level of emotion and interest attitude toward invention is higher than elementary school students. The image of invention is positive but difficult (M=3.70). Second, as the overall attitude to invention according to gender of middle school students shows a consistent invention attitude, the attitude formation on invention during elementary school time is found to be important. The overall image of invention according to gender is shown to be significantly different (p<0.05). Third, the overall attitude on invention according to the grade of middle school students does not show a statistically significant difference (p>0.05). As for the ranking according to factors on attitude depending on grades, cognitive attitude is followed by emotional attitude, attitude of interest, and practical attitude. The overall image of invention according to the grade of middle school students does not show a statistically significant difference (p>0.05). This is determined as a result of the large pressure acting on the study from middle school. Finally, the acts of invention such as idea, creation, imagination, creativity are considered as important as the results of analysis of the words of the invention. Invention is analyzed to contribute to developing new products, providing convenience in life, social development, usefulness in real life, and alleviating inconvenience.

In this study, the effectiveness of the education program was analyzed through the invention education program using Hands-on Robots, the change of perception of invention and robots of primary and secondary students. The results of the study were as follows: there were many differences in robots that students recognized before and after education, and the change was noticeable in lower grades. In addition, perception of inventions included many robots after they were trained, compared to the fact that robots were not included before they were learned. There has also been a change in attitudes toward robots and their attitude toward inventions, which was more pronounced in the lower grades. By doing so, it can be analyzed that the invention education program using Hands-on robots is effective in giving elementary and secondary students a change in their perception of inventions and robots.
The main aim of this study is to find out whether an elementary school's science-invention program for gifted pupils has an effect on their attitude towards science-engineering sector or related careers for their future. For hypothesis testing, a class for gifted pupils of 6th grade in D elementary school, J elementary school is chosen. The experiment was implemented 12 times during the period. Major findings were as follows. In career maturity, there weren't statistically meaningful differences found between experimental and controlled group as a result of invention program. This result showed that the invention program is not appropriate to promote the career maturity. However, there were still some evidence of change in their attitudes to science-engineering. Based on the result, an invention program which fails to improve career maturity should be amended.
The purpose of this study was to examine the nutrition knowledge and attitude of the elderly for developing nutrition education program. The nutrition knowledge test was consisted of nutrition, nutrients, weight control, food safety, and shopping tips by developing the table of specifications. The nutrition attitude test was comprised of seventeen questions for invention, self-efficacy, control, and outcome expectation. A total of 140 elderly living at home responded to both nutrition knowledge and attitude test. According to the results of nutrition knowledge test, the mean was 13.3 at the maximum 18 points and 51.4% respondents got more than 14 points. Significant differences were found with age (p<0.05, $x^2$=21.46), charge of income (p<0.05, $x^2$=8.86) and monthly expenses(p<0.05, $x^2$=22.95). The results of nutrition attitude test showed that the mean value of 40.89 points at the maximum 51 points and 58.6% of respondents rated more than 40.89 points. In exploring the relationship between the demographic variables(sex, age, educational level, and monthly expenses) and for attitude concepts, a significant correlation was found. Correlation among the knowledge for nutrition, nutrients, and the attitudes for nutrition was significant(p<0.05).
Pointing out the reality of criticism done mostly on Carlyle s original structure and rhetoric in his Sartor Resartus, this research paper focuses on Carlyle s dualistic philosophy revealed in the work, limiting its focus mostly to the dualistic theme of descendentalism and transcendentalism. The essence of Caryle s descendentalism is his irony and satire on human civilization, not for criticism itself, like other satirists, but rather out of his deep, secret humanism behind his mask. Roughly the two objects of his social criticism in the contemporary, descendentalisitc world, are mechanism and materialism in a variety of new ideologies. To diagnose the Zeitgeist and disillusion man living in contemporary civilization, Carlyle in this work uses a very original metaphor, the clothes-symbol. According to Carlyle, human history and progress can be said to be originated from man s adventitious invention of clothes that was not for biological need or social decency, but for decoration, the instinct of which implies man s innate vanity and desire. Interestingly enough here, however, Carlyle uses the same metaphor of clothes for his vision of transcendence, the world of Everlasting Yea. Man is also God s apparel and Matter is that of Spirit. Carlyle s Everlasting Yea world stresses especially the two attitudes, belief in God and love of man, which have been recently jeopardized in the socalled descendentalistic world. But Carlyle s transcendental and religious vision in Sartor Resartus is, as critics also have agreed, a unique and mysterious vision as something different from orthodox Christianity or other Victorian ideologies, as more like an amalgamation among Calvinism, Romanticism, Platonism and German Idealism. All in all, reading Sartor Resartus is still a valuable experience of an idiosyncratically original vision along with his warning against dehumanizing forces lurking in the name of civilization and with his ultimate eulogy on man, proving descendentalism as just part of transcendentalism, although the reader from time to time can be embarrassed by his male-centered, politically conservative, and individual-oriented dynamism.
This study has its purpose of researching on the relevant variables which affect the attitude toward engineering science and brain dominance for the department of engineering students. The results of this study are as follows: First, the department of engineering students' attitude toward engineering science has shown the order of cognitive element (3.73), definitional element (3.05) and behavioral element (2.86), and in the actual context it is considered that it is necessary to establish a teaching-learning strategy which can reinforce the behavioral elements such as experiments and practices as well as can improve engineering-related cognitive ability. Second, the attitudes toward engineering science according to their brain dominance thinking (Type A: analyst, Type B: Administrator, Type C: Cooperator, and Type D: Jointer) have no significant difference, but the students of Type A who have the characteristics of 7 analyzing thinking have shown high academic accomplishment. Based on these results of study, it is necessary to make a change of the current teaching-learning stratery in accordance with the types of thinking of the students from the teaching-learning perspective. In particular, in order to develop the weak dominance properties and thinking type of individual learners, the change in teacher's recognition that the teacher's teaching-learning strategy and practice is important has to take precedence.
Taking the concept of 'Invention of Tradition' by Hobsbawm, this paper examines the change of perspectives on the past and the attitudes toward connecting the past and the contemporary in the 19th century restoration of religious buildings in England. The Anglican society in the early 19th century argued that the catholic theology and rituals should be revived in their practice, which has formed the Oxford Movement. Such aspiration has stimulated to the society to execute its religious practice in a proper space, which has resulted in the Cambridge Camden Society in the middle of the century. Their publications on church buildings and arrangement had much affected to the restoration of many churches to rip off the previous Georgian furnitures and features of the fabric into Gothic, the style of middle age. The perspective on the past for anti-restoration movement in the late 19th century has moved into the one to respect all historical layers of previous spirit imprinted in the church buildings. Inspired by Ruskin and formulated by Morris, SPAB's Manifesto has reflected that the spirit of the first builder can not be reproduced or copied by the contemporaries, and therefore a daily maintenance is the best practice to extend the life of spirit rather than restoration. In addition the material remains is no longer belong to the religious entity but should be regarded as national heritage. By examining the change of perspectives on the past between the early and middle of 19th century and the late 19th century, this paper has argued that the various factors such as social, economic, political, art and commercial factors should be examined together in the understanding of conservation history.
