  • The concept of a intuitionistic fuzzy topology (IFT) was introduced by Coker 1997. The concept of a fuzzy retract was introduced by Rodabaugh in 1981. The aim of this paper is to introduce a new concepts of fuzzy continuity and fuzzy retracts in an intuitionistic fuzzy topological spaces and establish some of their properties. Also, the relations between these new concepts are discussed.

  • Using the Lukasiewicz 3-valued implication operator, the notion of an (${\alpha},{\beta}$)-intuitionistic fuzzy left (right) $h$-ideal of a hemiring is introduced, where ${\alpha},{\beta}{\in}\{{\in},q,{\in}{\wedge}q,{\in}{\vee}q\}$. We define intuitionistic fuzzy left (right) $h$-ideal with thresholds ($s,t$) of a hemiring R and investigate their various properties. We characterize intuitionistic fuzzy left (right) $h$-ideal with thresholds ($s,t$) and (${\alpha},{\beta}$)-intuitionistic fuzzy left (right) $h$-ideal of a hemiring R by its level sets. We establish that an intuitionistic fuzzy set A of a hemiring R is a (${\in},{\in}$) (or (${\in},{\in}{\vee}q$) or (${\in}{\wedge}q,{\in}$)-intuitionistic fuzzy left (right) $h$-ideal of R if and only if A is an intuitionistic fuzzy left (right) $h$-ideal with thresholds (0, 1) (or (0, 0.5) or (0.5, 1)) of R respectively. It is also shown that A is a (${\in},{\in}$) (or (${\in},{\in}{\vee}q$) or (${\in}{\wedge}q,{\in}$))-intuitionistic fuzzy left (right) $h$-ideal if and only if for any $p{\in}$ (0, 1] (or $p{\in}$ (0, 0.5] or $p{\in}$ (0.5, 1] ), $A_p$ is a fuzzy left (right) $h$-ideal. Finally, we prove that an intuitionistic fuzzy set A of a hemiring R is an intuitionistic fuzzy left (right) $h$-ideal with thresholds ($s,t$) of R if and only if for any $p{\in}(s,t]$, the cut set $A_p$ is a fuzzy left (right) $h$-ideal of R.

  • In this paper, we introduce the concepts of fuzzy (r,s)-preopen sets and fuzzy (r,s)-precontinuous mappings on intuitionistic fuzzy topological spaces in Sostak's sense and then we investigate some of their characteristic properties.

  • Fuzzy logic is introduced by Zadeh in 1965. It has been continuously developed by many mathematicians and knowledge engineers all over the world. A lot of papers concerning with the history of mathematics and the mathematical education related with fuzzy logic, but there is no paper concerning with Zadeh. In this article, we investigate his life and papers about fuzzy logic. We also compare two-valued logic, three-valued logic, fuzzy logic, intuisionistic logic and intuitionistic fuzzy sets. Finally we discuss about the expression of intuitionistic fuzzy sets.

  • Based on the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy hybrid geometric (IIFHG) operator and the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy weighted geometric (IIFWG) operator, we investigate the group decision making problems in which all the information provided by the decision-makers is presented as interval-valued in tuitionistic fuzzy decision matrices where each of the elements is characterized by interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers, and the information about attribute weights is partially known. Anumerical example is used to illustrate the applicability of the proposed approach.

  • In this paper, Atanassov's intuitionistic fuzzy set theory is used to handle the uncertainty of students' knowledgeon domain concepts in an E-learning system. Their knowledge on these domain concepts has been collected from tests that were conducted during their learning phase. Atanassov's intuitionistic fuzzy user model is proposed to deal with vagueness in the user's knowledge description in domain concepts. The user model uses Atanassov's intuitionistic fuzzy sets for knowledge representation and linguistic rules for updating the user model. The scores obtained by each student were collected in this model and the decision about the students' knowledge acquisition for each concept whether completely learned, completely known, partially known or completely unknown were placed into the information table. Finally, it has been found that the proposed scheme is more appropriate than the fuzzy scheme.

  • Multimodal medical image fusion is the process of retrieving valuable information from medical images. The primary goal of medical image fusion is to combine several images obtained from various sources into a distinct image suitable for improved diagnosis. Complexity in medical images is higher, and many soft computing methods are applied by researchers to process them. Intuitionistic fuzzy sets are more appropriate for medical images because the images have many uncertainties. In this paper, a new method, based on Sugeno's intuitionistic fuzzy set (SIFS), is proposed. First, medical images are converted into Sugeno's intuitionistic fuzzy image (SIFI). An exponential intuitionistic fuzzy entropy calculates the optimum values of membership, non-membership, and hesitation degree functions. Then, the two SIFIs are disintegrated into image blocks for calculating the count of blackness and whiteness of the blocks. Finally, the fused image is rebuilt from the recombination of SIFI image blocks. The efficiency of the use of SIFS in multimodal medical image fusion is demonstrated on several pairs of images and the results are compared with existing studies in recent literature.

  • The notion of generalized intuitionistic fuzzy sets (GIF sets) was introduced by Mondal and Samanta [J. Fuzzy Math. 10(4) (2002) 839-861]. By this notion, a notion of GIF filters is introduced and studied. Also a new notion of of Hausdorffness is defined on GIF filters and tlleir properties are studied to some extent.

  • We give a geometrical interpretation of the interval-valued fuzzy set. So, based on the geometrical background, we propose new distance measures between interval-valued fuzzy sets and compare these measures with distance measures proposed by Burillo and Bustince and Grzegorzewski, respectively. Furthermore, we extend three methods for measuring distances between interval-valued fuzzy sets to interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets.
