  • A new method for solving the uncertain eigenvalue problems of the structures with interval parameters, interval finite element method based on the element, is presented in this paper. The calculations are done on the element basis, hence, the efforts are greatly reduced. In order to illustrate the accuracy of the method, a continuous beam system is given, the results obtained by it are compared with those obtained by Chen and Qiu (1994); in order to demonstrate that the proposed method provides safe bounds for the eigenfrequencies, an undamping spring-mass system, in which the exact interval bounds are known, is given, the results obtained by it are compared with those obtained by Qiu et al. (1999), where the exact interval bounds are given. The numerical results show that the proposed method is effective for estimating the eigenvalue bounds of structures with interval parameters.

  • We introduce nonnegative interval-valued set functions and nonnegative measurable interval-valued Junctions. Then the interval-valued Choquet integral determines a new nonnegative monotone interval-valued set function which is a generalized concept of monotone set function defined by Choquet integral in [17]. We also obtained absolutely continuity of them in [9]. In this paper, we investigate some characterizations of the monotone interval-valued set function defined by the interval-valued Choquet integral, and such as subadditivity, superadditivity, null-additivity, converse-null-additivity.

  • Confidence intervals for the population proportion in a double sampling scheme subject to false-positive misclassification are considered. The confidence intervals are obtained by applying Agresti and Coull's approach, so-called "adding two-failures and two successes". They are compared in terms of coverage probabilities and expected widths with the Wald interval and the confidence interval given by Boese et al. (2006). The latter one is a test-based confidence interval and is known to have good properties. It is shown that the Agresti and Coull's approach provides a relatively simple but effective confidence interval.

  • In this paper, we define signed interval-valued Choquet integrals which have numerous applications in mathematical economics, informatiom theory, expected utility theory, and risk analysis on interval-valued random variables, for examples: interval-valued random payments and interval-valued random profiles, etc. And we discuss axiomatic characterizations of them. Furthermore, we fine some condition that comonotonic additivity of symmetric Choquet integrals on interval-valued random payments is satisfied and give two examples related the main theorem.

  • We introduce the concepts of interval-valued fuzzy complete inner-unitary subsemigroups and interval-valued fuzzy group congruences on a semigroup. And we investigate some of their properties. Also, we prove that there is a one to one correspondence between the interval-valued fuzzy complete inner-unitary subsemigroups and the interval-valued fuzzy group congruences on a regular semigroups.

  • The purpose of this research aimed at performing the easy design. and also the easy on-the-job application or the maintenance interval determination methodology by presenting the determining model or the optimizing maintenance interval in TBM for the preventive maintenance or facility TBM(time-based maintenance) as the preventive maintenance requires the adequate determination or the maintenance interval. The maintenance interval or TBM shall be applied differently for the each interval such as He patrol inspection, maintenance, overhaul inspection. exchange. And it is based on the composition level of equipment. The already informed theories or interval determination methodology for the patrol inspection. repair. and overhaul inspection are difficult for adopting because or the several restriction problems in applying the maintenance schemes as the theory So, the model for determining the optimizing exchange interval or part, maintenance interval of auxiliary machine, unit equipment etc. was presented to apply in the maintenance easily and appropriately.

  • An iterative hybrid structural dynamic reliability prediction model has been developed under multiple-time interval loads with and without consideration of stochastic structural strength degradation. Firstly, multiple-time interval loads have been substituted by the equivalent interval load. The equivalent interval load and structural strength are assumed as random variables. For structural reliability problem with random and interval variables, the interval variables can be converted to uniformly distributed random variables. Secondly, structural reliability with interval and stochastic variables is computed iteratively using the first order second moment method according to the stress-strength interference theory. Finally, the proposed method is verified by three examples which show that the method is practicable, rational and gives accurate prediction.

  • This paper proposes a pattern classification method of interval vectors by interval neural networks. The proposed method can be applied to pattern classification where attribute values of each sample are given as interval numbers. First, an architecture of interval neural networks is proposed for dealing with interval input vectors. Next, a learning algorithm is derived from the cost function. a cost function is defined using the interval output from the interval neural network and the corresponding target output. Last, using numerical examples, the proposed approach is illustrated and compared with other approach based on the standard back-propagation neural networks.
