To form a foundation of basic materials to contribute in improved mental health of one-person households, the purpose of this study is to investigate the association of interpersonal relationships and depression and to identify indirect effect of satisfaction with life. To this end, the study used structural equation modeling, employing data from the 2012 Korean General Social Survey(KGSS), a nationally representative survey and targeted 300 living alone people who is older than 20 years old. The findings are as follows: First, the quality of interpersonal relationships has a negative effect on depression and can relieve depression. It also revealed that one-person households are not isolated from relationships and they utilize not only kin relational resources but non-kin resources while forming a positive relationships. Second, the quality of interpersonal relationships effects one's life satisfaction which ultimately has an effect on depression. It verifies that, within interpersonal relationship and depression, there are indirect effect resulting from satisfaction with life. Based on the result of current study, practical intervention programs to improve life satisfaction and prevent depression were suggested.
The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of an academic tutoring program on interpersonal relationships, self- directed learning capability and academic self-efficacy. The research question posed in this study was whether an academic tutoring program would affect interpersonal relationships, self-directed learning capability and academic self-efficacy. To address the research question, a self-administered survey was conducted to gather data on 214 students who participated in an academic tutoring program during a semester from September 4 to November 10, 2017. The findings of the study were as follows: After their participation in the tutoring program, there was a little decrease in self-directed learning capability and personal learning orientation, and they made progress in interpersonal relationships and academic self-efficacy. By gender, there was the greatest improvement in interpersonal relationships as well after their participation in the tutoring program. By academic year and motivation for participation, they showed the best improvement in interpersonal relationships as well, followed by academic self-efficacy. In other words, it could be said that the parts which the tutoring program brought about the biggest change to and worked best on were interpersonal relationships and academic self-efficacy. In conclusion, the improvement of interpersonal relationships and academic self-efficacy could boost not only the school adjustment of students but their academic levels and then eventually prevent them from dropping out. Therefore this program seems to be one of outstanding learning programs that could make a contribution to the stable management and qualitative competitiveness of universities.
The study examined whether small group filial therapy for maladjusted young children and their mothers would improve children's interpersonal relationships. Two mother-child pairs participated in the program consisting 12 group parent education sessions by a therapist and 6 sessions of supervised play therapy. All 18 sessions ran 85-90 minutes once a week. Results showed positive changes on initiated interactions, co-play, emotional closeness and manifest joy in mother-child play interactions. Scores of playfulness rated by two trained observers during weekly group play time for the children showed improvement in terms of physical, social, and cognitive spontaneity, manifest joy and humor. Quality of children's interpersonal relationships in routine life of home and preschool was enhanced according to reports of mothers and preschool teachers.
The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationships of maternal attachment, social competence and interpersonal cognitive problem-solving skill. fifty-four children aged 5 and 6 years and their mothers were observed and videotaped in a strange situation. Children were interviewed in order to assess interpersonal cognitive problem solving skill. teachers rated children's social development using modified ISCE(Iowa Social Competency Scale : Preschool Forma). The results showed that there were significant relationships of maternal attachment, social competence and interpersonal cognitive problem-solving skill. children of the secure attachment to mothers were greater social activator, cooperative, alternative solution thought and consequential thought. In contrast, children of insecure attachment to mother were less social activator and cooperative, and more hypersensitive and apprehensive. Children's social competence was related to the interpersonal cognitive problem-solving skill.
Purpose: This study was conducted to identify factors associated with stroke patients' quality of life (QOL) and examine the mediating effects of interpersonal relations in the relationships of activities of daily living (ADL) and body image with QOL. Methods: In this study, 160 stroke patients were recruited from an outpatient clinic of a university hospital and rehabilitation clinic of a long-term care hospital. Participants completed a questionnaire which included sociodemographic characteristics, ADL, body image, interpersonal relation, and QOL. Descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, multiple regression analysis, and process macro mediation analysis were conducted using SPSS. Results: The mean scores were 91.01 (range 6~100) for ADL, 61.19 (range 40~79) for body image, 87.53 (range 29~123) for interpersonal relations, and 186.67 (range 71~243) for QOL. Multiple regression analyses showed that ADL, body image, interpersonal relations, and participation in group activities after stroke were significantly associated with QOL among stroke patients (p<.05). There were no mediating effects of interpersonal relations in the relationships of ADL and body image with QOL (p>.05). Conclusion: This study showed that there is a need for physical, psychological, and social recovery to improve the QOL of stroke patients.
This convergence research was conducted to understand the effect of university students' addiction to smartphones on self-efficacy, with lack of sleep and interpersonal relationships as the parameters. The subjects were students from three universities located in J province, and 263 questionnaires were used as the data for analysis. SPSS and AMOS were used for correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and path analysis. As a result, addiction to smartphones showed positive (+) correlation with lack of sleep, and negative (-) correlation with interpersonal relationships and sell-efficacy. In addition, the addiction to smartphones has an influence on self-efficacy with lack of sleep and interpersonal relationships as the parameters. Therefore, in order to increase the self-efficacy of unversity students, plans and measures should be prepared to manage and prevent addiction to smartphones and lack of sleep, and to improve interpersonal relationships.

PURPOSE: This study examined the impact of functional group cooking activities on the depression and interpersonal relationships of stroke patients with psychological impairments. METHODS: Ten stroke patients were divided into an experimental group and a control group and participated in this study from October 2015 to January 2016. The experimental group and control group each comprised five stroke patients. Traditional occupational therapy was given to the control group and the experimental group undertook the cooking activity. Depression changes were measured using the Beck depression inventory (BDI), and the interpersonal relationships were evaluated using the relationship change scale. RESULTS: The findings indicate that, first, there was a significant difference in the depression changes in both groups before and after the intervention. Second, after the intervention, the interpersonal relationships of the experimental group showed a higher mean change value and were significantly higher than the control (experimental: 22.4, control: 4, p < .05). In contrast, there was no change in the depression status between the two groups. CONCLUSION: Functional group cooking activities appear to be more effective in improving interpersonal relationships than traditional occupational therapy. However, to establish that functional group cooking activities are linked to improvements in the depression status and interpersonal relationships of the participants, further studies would be needed with more extensive group activities and larger sample sizes.
This study analyzed the moderating effect according to school levels in the structural relationship between stressful interpersonal relationships at work and rumination in teachers' depression. For this study, a research model was formed based on theoretical understandings and a literature review. The researchers surveyed 811 teachers at primary and secondary schools to measure scales of depression, rumination, and stress in interpersonal relationships at work. Primary education and secondary education were the grouping variables for the school levels, and the collected data was analyzed using multi-group structural equation modeling. Also, to affirm equivalence between the two models, the data was investigated using the constrained model of measurement equivalence. The research results verified the equivalence between the two models and the moderating effect by comparing the path coefficients of the two models on the assumption of equivalence constraint. As a result, the moderating effect according to school levels was revealed on the path from stressful interpersonal relationships at work to depression. Grounded on this analysis, stress in interpersonal relationships at work mediates the impact of rumination in teachers' depression. In addition, the research revealed that the moderating effects on stressful interpersonal relationships at work varied according to school level, and the moderating effect of stress in interpersonal relationships at work affected middle school teachers but not primary school teachers.

Data collected from 7 September to 18 September 2015 were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Result: The mean scores for the interpersonal relationship ($3.74{\pm}0.39$), stress ($3.21{\pm}0.54$), and satisfaction ($3.44{\pm}0.45$) in clinical practice were above average. Interpersonal relationships differed significantly according to year (F=3.12, p=.046), satisfaction with nursing as a major (F=15.84, p<.001), important of interpersonal relationships (F=4.76, p=.001), and academic achievement (F=3.80, p=.011). Stress in clinical practice differed significantly according to the year (F=8.05, p<.001), application motivation (F=4.55, p=.001) and satisfaction with nursing as a major (F=2.69, p=.046). Satisfaction in clinical practice differed significantly according to satisfaction with nursing as a major (F=3.24, p=.022), important of interpersonal relationships (F=3.01, p=.019), and academic achievements (F=5.24, p=.002). Significant correlations were observed between the interpersonal relationships and satisfaction in clinical practice (r=.24, p<.001). Interpersonal relationship (${\beta}=.21$, p<.001), academic achievements (${\beta}=.12$, p=.045) were factors influencing satisfaction in clinical practice. Conclusion: The interpersonal relationships need to be improved to increase nursing students' satisfaction with clinical practice
