  • This study is about the patent information analysis of relevant companies and technologies based on International Patent Classification (IPC) code. 902 patent applications in the field of electronic commerce(G06Q) by NAVER, the biggest internet company in Korea, are the subjects of this study. First, we investigated the number of applications and registrations per IPC code so that we could analyze the core technology areas and the status of patent application. In addition, we examined the convergence of technologies by investigating interconnections between main and sub categories of IPC codes. Lastly, we looked into the changes in patent technologies by investigating the status of application per IPC code in accordance with year. By analyzing the IPC code based patent information used in this study, we could further expect the trends of companies and technologies.

  • In this paper, the trend of technology and the business strategy on 'Hearing Aids' are investigated for the industry promotion of medical devices based on IT engineering from the 316 patents of 'Hearing Aids' registered in Korean Intellectual Property Office(KIPO). The classification of technology on 'Hearing Aids' is performed according to the IPC(International Patent Classification) code to and the core technology of 'Hearing Aids' As the results of classification of IPC code, the number of patents with IPC code 'H04R', 'H04B', 'H01M', and 'A61F' are 160, 46, 40, and 19 respectively. We found that the Digital technology and the Medical Transplants technology are come to the front of 'Hearing Aids' and the foreign 'Hearing Aids' companies are filed an application with the Korean Intellectual Property Office(KIPO) before their business.

  • With the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology, the patenting activities related to the fields of AI is increasing worldwide. In particular, a share of patent filed in China has exploded in recent years and overtakes the numbers in the US. In the present study, we focus our attention on the patenting activity of China and the US. We analyzed 6,281 and 13,664 patent applications in the US and China respectively between 2008 and 2018, and belonging to the "G06F(Electric Digital Data Processing)", "G06N(Computer Systems Based on Specific Computational Models)", "H04L(Transmission of Digital Information)" and nine more relevant technological classes, as indicated by the International Patent Classification(IPC). Our analysis contributes to: first, the understanding of patent application trends from foreign countries filed in the US and China, 2) patent application status by applicants category such as companies, universities and individuals, 3) the development direction and forecasting vacant technology of AI according to main IPC code. Through the analysis of this paper, we can suggest some implications for patent research related to artificial intelligence in Korea. Plus, by analyzing the most recent patent data, we can provide important information for future artificial intelligence technology research.

  • Patent and utility indicate international competitiveness in the knowledge-based society of the $21^{st}$century where both the quantity and quality of the nation's scientific intelligence and innovative technology represent key criteria to evaluate its strength. Thus, discerning the trends of patents is inevitable for further development. This research is centered on apprehending the technological current of the functional clothing of Korea, through an analysis of patents and utility models. The number of patent applications in Korea was low until the mid-1990s. However, it began to grow rapidly in the 2000s and the number of patents surpassed the number of utility starting in 2006. The technological level of invention in this field has been turned into a higher level. The IPC code with the strongest application was the field related to temperature controllable clothing (A41D 13/005), followed by surgeon or patient apparel related fields (A41D 13/12), and reflective or luminous safety devices (A41D 13/01).The main technological idea was to give functionality that could protect the human body from various hazards and represents the goal of various applied techniques. About 66% of domestic patent applications belong to individuals; however, the proportion of corporate or institutional applications(including universities) remains poor. Consequently, more systematic and long-term support for research on patents is required.

  • A technology is continuously developed in a rapidly changing global market. A company requires an appropriate R&D strategy for adapting to this environment. That is, the technologies owned by the company needs to be thoroughly analyzed to improve its competitiveness. Alternatively, technology classification using IPC codes is carried out recently in an objective and quantitative way. International Patent Classification, IPC is an internationally specified classification system, so it is helpful to conduct an objective and quantitative patent analysis of technology. In this study, all of the patents owned by company C are investigated and a matrix representing IPC codes of each patent is created. Then, a structured association map of the patents is made through association rules mining based on Confidence. The association map can be used to inspect the current situation of a company about patents. It also allows highly associated technologies to be clustered. Using the association map, this study analyzes the technologies of company C and how it changes with time. The strategy for future technologies is established based on the result.

  • Patents is a strong asset. Samsung and Apple's patent lawsuit is a prime example. So many countries reinforce the intellectual property and they lay the emphasis on the patent. Utilizing the patent information efficiently is basic to the patent analysis. Patent information will provide for new science and technology information sources, international code is classified according to the international patent system IPC, being easily accessible. In this paper, analysis of foreign and domestic patents for zeolite technologies analysis using IPC. The current of technology development in such countries as Korea, USA, Japan, China and EU was analyzed by classifying the patents for 1992 through 2011 according to registration country, assignee, calendar year and technology area.

  • Technologies related scan-to-BIM for BIM-based reverse engineering techniques are beginning to be actively introduced in the A.E.C. industry, and the scalability of the technology is growing considerably. This study uses patent analysis based on objective data to find the right direction for Korean Scan-to-BIM technology by identifying the trends in Korea, the United States, Europe, and Japan. This was done using the WIPSON patent search system to find previous research on patent analysis related to building technology, theoretical consideration of scan-to-BIM technology, and published patents. We collected information, verified the process, and extracted valid patents. We used the effective patent data to analyze the annual trend of patent applications, national trends, and technological trends through the International Patent Classification (IPC) code, the types of the top 20 major applicants, and family patent trends.
