  • This study proposes the accurate economic effect (employment inducement coefficient, hiring inducement coefficient, index of the sensitivity of dispersion, index of the power of dispersion, and ratio of value added) of Korea software industry by analyzing the inter-industry relation using the modified inter-industry table. Some previous studies related to the inter-industry analysis were reviewed and the key problems were identified. First, in the current inter-industry table publishedby the Bank of Korea, the output of software industry includes not only the output of pure software industry (package software and IT services) but also the output of non-software industry due to the misclassification of the industry. This causes the output to become bigger than the actual output of the software industry. Second, during rewriting the inter-industry table, the output is changing. The inter-industry table is the table in the form of rows and columns, which records the transactions of goods and services among industries which are required to continue the activities of each industry. Accordingly, if only an output of a specific industry is changed, the reliability of the table would be degraded because the table is prepared based on the relations with other industries. This possibly causes the economic effect coefficient to degrade reliability, over or under estimated. This study tries to correct these problems to get the more accurate economic effect of the software industry. First, to get the output of the pure software section only, the data from the Korea Electronics Association(KEA) was used in the inter-industry table. Second, to prevent the difference in the outputs during rewriting the inter-industry table, the difference between the output in the current inter-industry table and the output from KEA data was identified and then it was defined as the non-software section output for the analysis. The following results were obtained: The pure software section's economic effect coefficient was lower than the coefficient of non-software section. It comes from differenceof data to Bank of Korea and KEA. This study hasa signification from accurate economic effect of Korea software industry.

  • This study proposes the accurate labor inducement coefficient (employment inducement coefficient/hiring inducement coefficient) of Korea software industry by analyzing the inter-industry relation using the modified inter-industry table. To rewrite the inter-industry table of Korea, some previous studies related to the inter-industry analysis were reviewed and the key problems were identified. First, in the current inter-industry table published by the Bank of Korea, the output of software industry includes not only the pure software related output but also the output of non-software section due to the misclassification of the industry. This causes the output to become bigger than the actual output of software industry. Therefore, if the inter-industry table is not modified, the labor inducement coefficient would be overestimated too much. This possibly causes the labor inducement coefficient to be over or underestimated. This study tries to correct these problems to get the more accurate labor inducement coefficient of the software industry. First, to get the output of the pure software section only, the data from the Korea Electronics Association (KEA) was used in the inter-industry table. Second, to prevent the difference in the outputs during rewriting the inter-industry table, the difference between the output in the current inter-industry table and the output from KEA data was identified and then it was defined as the non-software section output for the analysis. The followings are the labor inducement coefficient obtained when the output is divided into the pure software section (package software, and IT service) and non-software section. As of 2011, the employment inducement coefficients of pure software section, package software section and IT service of Korea were 8.616, 13.998, and 7.773 respectively while the labor inducement coefficients of pure software section, package software section and IT service of Korea were 7.979, 13.332, and 7.083, respectively.

  • Research on technology security has been limited to technology leakage prevention. Companies recognize technology security as an investment. so It is a passive situation for recruitment and equipment installation. Therefore, the amount of damage caused by the technology leakage is regarded as profit, The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of technology security on the domestic economy by using the inter-industry relations table. The inter-industry relations table was created by Vasily Leontiyev. In 1960, the Bank of Korea made it for the first time in Korea. Korea introduced the ISMS in 2001 and conducted a study on the technology security economy. Through this study, we hope that technology security will be recognized as income, not investment.

  • This study aims to identify the impact of the logistics industry on the Korean national economy. To do this, we used a MRIO table provided by the Bank of Korea which includes inter and intra regional relationship of the production and consumption for 6 areas - the Seoul Metropolitan, Gangwon, Chungcheong, Jeonra, Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam area, but an original MRIO table was recomposed of 29 sectors focused on logistics industry for the purpose of this study. we analyzed producing-inducing effects, supply-shortage effects and inter-industry linkage effects based on logistics industry by region and industry. As a result, the logistics industry has more supply-shortage effect rather than production-inducing effect and has a higher ripple effect on the automotive in Gyeongnam area and petrochemical industry in Jeonra area. In particular, the ripple effect of th Metropolitan logistic industry was far smaller than that of other areas, because the Seoul Metropolitan industry was identified as the primary and middle demand industry.

  • In this study, we attempt to examine the economic impacts of the CCS marine geological storage demonstration project in Korea using Input-Output analysis utilizing the inter-industry relation table issued in 2013. In particular, this study defines the $CO_2$ ocean storage industry and then added the inter-industry relation table and treated the $CO_2$ ocean storage industry as exogenous. In addition, this study assumed two scenarios based on the means of $CO_2$ transport, which are pipe and ship. After defining the industry and scenarios, this study investigates the production-inducing effect, value added inducing effect, and employment-inducing effect of the industries associated with the $CO_2$ ocean storage industry based on a demand-driven model. The results pertaining to the scenarios are estimated as follows: total production-inducing effects, value added inducing effects, and employment-inducing effects are calculated as 1.9044 won, 1.2487 won and 16.7224 people/billion won, respectively. In addition, compared to other industries, the indirect economic impacts of the $CO_2$ ocean storage industry are ranked high: the rankings of production-inducing effects, value added inducing effects, and employment-inducing effects are fourth, second, and fifth, respectively.

  • The VHTR (Very High Temperature gas-cooled nuclear Reactor) has been considered as a major heat source and the most safe generation IV type reactor for mass hydrogen production to prepare for the hydrogen economy era. The VHTR satisfies goals for the GIF (Generation IV International Forum) policy such as sustainablility, economics, reliability and proliferation resistance and physical protection, and safety. As a part of a VHTR economic analysis, we have studied the VHTR construction cost and operation and maintenance cost. However, it is somewhat difficult to expect the ripple effect on the whole industry due to the lack of information about Inter-industries relationship. In many case, the ripple effect are based on experts' knowledge or uncertain qualitative assumptions. As a result, we propose quantitative analysis techniques for ripple effects such as the production inducement effect, added value inducement effect, and employment inducement effect for VHTR 600MWt${\times}$4 modules construction and operation ripple effect based on NOAK (Nth Of A Kind). Because inducement effect values have been published annually, we predict inducement effect's relation function and estimated values including production inducement effect value, added value inducement effect value, and employment inducement effect value using time series and estimated values are verified with published inducement effects' value. This paper presents a new method for the ripple effect and preliminary ripple effect consequence using a time series analysis and inter-industry table. This ripple effect analysis techniques can be applied to effect expectation analysis as well as other type reactor's ripple effect analysis including VHTR for process heat.

  • Competitiveness of a nation can be explained by the concept of national innovation systems(NIS). As components of NIS, industry clusters become the issue in analysing innovative activity of an economy. Innovative clusters can be identified by the innovation survey or other economic activity data. Input-output Table was used widely as a tool for quantitative analysis, This paper classifies seven clusters in Korean industry based on inter-industries trade of intermediary goods and services, Maximizing procedure method is used in analysing input-output table. Identified clusters are Textiles/chemicals, Construction/Material, Instrument/Equipment, Automobile, Services, Energy, and Agriculture/Food cluster, Among these clusters, some different characteristics in R&D portfolios are detected. R&D investment characteristics of each cluster give us significant implications in understanding innovative dynamics of Korean industry.
