This is to develop Intelligent Retrieval System which can automatically present early query's category terms(association terms connected with knowledge structure of relevant terminology) through learning function and it changes searching form automatically and runs it with association terms. For the reason, this theoretical study of Intelligent Automatic Indexing System abstracts expert's index term through learning and clustering algorism about automatic classification, text mining(categorization), and document category representation. It also demonstrates a good capacity in the aspects of expense, time, recall ratio, and precision ratio.

정보가전에 대한 연구가 현재 활발히 진행 중에 있고 정보가전이 실현 되었을 때 다양한 서비스와 연계가 가능하고, 사람들의 생활 환경에 많은 변화가 일어날 것으로 전망된다. 본 논문에서는 정보가전 기반의 건강관리 멀티 에이전트 시스템을 설계와 구현을 기술하였다. 홈 제어 네트워크로는 전력선 기반의 LonWorks를 이용하고, OSGI(Open Services Gateway Initiative)를 이용하여 LonWorks기반의 디바이스들을 제어한다. 멀티에이전트 시스템으로는 FIPA(The Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents) Specification을 따르고, 이 플랫폼 위에서 건강관리 에이전트, 가전제품관리 에이전트, 건강관리 Library, 요리 Library, 운동 Library를 구현하였다.

This paper consists of three chapters. Changes and objectives of library automation are discussed in chapter 1 and 2 respectively. The dominant trends in library automation which begun in 1960's can be described ; the 1960's was dominated by primitive local systems and the 1970's by online networks. And in the 1980's, there is a return to local system but with various options to networks. The major objectives of library automation are to improve speed of technical process, to get economic efficiency, and to provide better services. But the library planning automation should take account of experiences of the others that those objectives are not easily achieved. The impact of automation on a library is discussed in chapter 3. First, emphasis of libraries shifts from a collection orientation to an access orientation. Computer allowed to access not only to materials of their own library but also to those of others. Second, libraries should reconsider all their activities and services. Those must be reorganized by several principles such as rationalization, intelligent use of automation, and maximizing of human self-fulfillment. Third, change on organizational structure is anticipated. Flat organization in stead of existing hierarchy will provide rapid communication for problem - solving and intensify professionalism. Machine with proper capabilities and well programed software are prerequisites for library automation. But beyond these prerequisites, human factor should be stressed as well as mechanical factor. Therefore, understanding of changes due to automation, aggressive acceptance of trend, and su n.0, pport of organization are required in order to get successful results.

Information scientists need not to answer whether future libraries will be a digital library or not, but to answer how they are structured and served effectively to users currently. 'The library with walls' or 'the library as place' need to be existed in the future, but 'digital library without the wall' or 'virtual library' will need to be studied continuously. This study has tried to reveal the existing problems of digital libraries and their future environment after considering the ambiguous concepts of various types of electronic libraries and their efforts for library automation, and the changed information retrieval circumstances during the last 30 to 40 years through a qualitative document study. As a result, the major findings and suggestions are prepared. The library of the future will be a part of local and national cooperative systems, be filled with the intelligent use of old and new technologies, and be able to su n.0, pport both a place with extensive collections and convenient, easy, & free access to remote intellectual resources. Also, the information storage and retrieval (ISAR) to the future library system would easily provide users with any types of data retrieval system by anybody rather than by an expert or a specialist, so called 'A&E retrieval' in the coming 21th century. It will be highly possible that the future society changes to the information marketplace whose data may be recognized as an intangible assets.

The goal of this study was to evaluate vision, mission, strategies, and action plans from the long-term development plan for the B University's library, and specificity, measurability, achievability, relevance, and time-frame were measured and evaluated for each with SMART method. The results obtained through this study are as below : Firstly, SMART evaluation result for the B University's library was 3.80 for the vision, 3.97 for the mission, 3.74 for strategies, and 3.64 for action plans. Secondly, specificity of the long-term development plan for the B University's library was 4.06, measurability was 3.72, achievability was 3.68, relevance was 3.90, and time-frame was 3.58. Thirdly, the overall evaluation of the long-term development plan for the B University's library showed that among components from the development plan, the mission was the most superior while action plans had problems. Fourthly, in SMART evaluation factors, specificity was the most superior while time-frame had problems such that it should be supplemented in the future.
