  • An analysis method is suggested and experimentally studied in order to solve a vibration problem of a flexible structure while it is moving. In this method, substructure synthesis method, modal analysis method and Newmark's integral method were used. Total deformation of a structure was composed of quasistatic component and dynamic component. Rigid body modes were considered in calculation of dynamic component. Combining those two component, deformation behavior and a real structural model of a transfer feeder showed good agreements with computational results.

  • In this paper, hardware design and implementation of digital controller for the High Precision Digital Power Supply (HPDPS) based on Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) is presented. Developed digital controller is composed of high resolution Digital Pulse Width Modulation (DPWM) and high resolution analog to digital converter circuit with anti-aliasing filter. And Digital Signal Processor (DSP) has the capability of a few micro-second calculation time for one feedback loop. 32-bit DSP and DPWM with 150[ps] step resolution is used to implement the HPDPS. Also 18-bit 2 mega sample per second ADC board is adopted for the developed digital controller. Also, hardware structure of the developed digital controller and experimental results of the first prototype board for HPDPS is described.

  • In order to predict the noise of the spur gear system, a simplified model of spur system including the housing is studied. The spur gear is modeled as a single degree of freedom system. The shaft-housing system is modeled as a clamped circular plate connected with a beam. The moment components of the beam excited by the spur gear mesh force are considered in the calculation of plate vibration and radiated noise. The out-of-displacements of the clamped circular plate due to the r-direction moment and ${\theta}$-direction moment are calculated. Radiated noise from the plate in the air is also calculated using Rayleigh integral. Using the numerical example, the numerical validation of the analytical procedure on the noise prediction are given.

  • In this study, the Norbury-Fraenkel family of vortex rings is analyzed using a contour dynamics method for the stream function, which significantly reduces the numerical burden in the calculation. The stream function is formulated as the integral along the contour of the vorticity core. The integration over the logarithmic-singular segment is evaluated analytically, and the positions of the nodal points of the contour are calculated directly. The shapes of the cores and the dividing stream surfaces are found based on the mean core radius. Compared with other studies, the proposed method is verified and found to be more efficient.

  • In this paper, we improve pre-processing method using markers and propose accurate lattice extraction of elemental image array using minimal markers to correct distortion. We propose a method that almost equal performance of existing method and be more simple calculation. For our method, we did computational experiments and compared with reconstructed images.

  • In this paper a new RSA public-key cryptosystem which expands conventional RSA pubilc-key cryptosystem is suggested. The number of multiplication times is increased by expanding the modulus parameters p, q which are the foundation of ciphering. As a result tha amount of calculation which required in cryptoanalysis is increased, and we could improve strength of RSA public-key cryptography through a proof based on integral number theory.

  • An equation is presented to calculate wave height due to shoaling, refraction and bottom friction. The equation in an integral form is evaluated by two different methods: A numerical method and an analytical method based on approximation. Both methods are used to calculate wave height and show very good agreement between their results. As shown in the figure of wave height variation vs. relative water depth, an increase of incident angle leads to a decrease in wave height. For the case of normal incident wave, the present equation can be reduced, under some assumptions, to the existing equation of Bretschneider and Reid (1954).

  • This Paper Presents an effective and simple procedure for the simulation of the motion of the solid-liquid interfacial boundary and the transient temperature field during phase change process. To accomplish this purpose, an iterative implicit solution algorithm has been developed by employing the dual reciprocity boundary element method. The dual reciprocity boundary element approach provided in this paper is much simpler than the usual boundary element method applying a reciprocity principle and an available technique for dealing with domain integral of boundary element formulation simultaneously. The effectiveness of the present analysis method have been illustrated through comparisons of the calculation results of an example with its semi-analytical or other numerical solutions where available.

  • The added resistance of a ship advancing in waves can be split into the resistance due to the radiation wave and the resistance due to the diffraction wave. In this study, the former has been calculated by a method based on Maruo's formula. The latter must be calculated by other methods. Ship motion is calculated by the usual strip method. The amplitude of two dimensional far-field waves is calculated using the improved Green integral equation. The present numerical method can be used for the estimation of the added resistance due to the radiation wave since the present numerical result is much smaller than other existing numerical results considered to be overestimated.

  • The apparent soil resistivity is used for estimating multilayer soil parameters, such as, layer's depth and soil resistivity. The soil parameters are estimated by continuously revising those parameters until the error between the measured and calculated apparent soil resistivity reaches to allowable level. The equation for calculating the apparent soil resistivity is complicated and time consumed, because it is composed of an infinite integral which includes a zero order Bessel's function of the first kind. In this paper, a fast algorithm for calculating the apparent soil resistivity of horizontal multilayer earth structure is proposed using exponential sampling method.
