  • Partial discharge testing are rapidly becoming the most powerful tool to assess the condition of high voltage generator and motor stator windings. Recently, on-line monitoring scheme with trending technique is widely applied in insulation diagnosis. This paper describes the on-line partial discharge detecting techniques in the high voltage motor stator windings. Also, on-line monitoring system for an insulation diagnosis are proposed.

  • Recently many research activities on the diagnosis of stator winding insulation of high-voltage motors have been reported. Most of them utilize a trend analysis of partial discharges. In this paper, a novel on-line monitoring system for an insulation diagnosis is proposed. This system displays magnitude and phase angle distribution of partial discharge. The partial discharge activities can be interpreted more precisely by these techniques.

  • This paper is purpose to understand the insulation properties of the high voltage motor stator winding according to the different dryness conditions. we carried out the three times insulation diagnosis test for the same motor stator winding. the first test object is the contaminated winding, second is the washed-out, and natural dried during the 24 hours, and the last is the heating dried in 110$^{\circ}C$ during the 48 hours. the insulation diagnosis tests are consist of the megger, the polarization index, the AC current test, the dissipation factor test and the partial discharge test, we analyzed and made a comparison of the three cases test result.

  • This paper introduces a on-line monitoring system for insulation diagnosis of high-voltage motor stator windings. This system monitors the insulation condition of the stator winding with sensor, coupling capacitor. Partial discharge (PD) signals are able to be continuously measured and digitalized with a Peak-hold A/D converter to build the database of the high-voltage motor's insulation condition. This system can communicate with the central monitoring system via RS-485 This paper introduces an economic solution for data acquisition of partial discharges.

  • Electric Power cable is the apparatus that receives electric power from the Korea Electric Power Corporation and supplies electric power to electric train and annex facilities of each railway station. With substantial ripple effect during power blackout accidents, such power blackout accidents must be coped with by discriminating the status of insulation deterioration of electric power cable in advance. Discrimination of insulation deterioration of the electric power cable is normally executed while the power is disconnected and it is very difficult to discover, at early stage, the insulation deterioration of the power cable in operational state since the duration of inspection is limited. This research aims to consider method of diagnosing the insulation deterioration of electric power cable in On-Line state rather than diagnosis in Off-Line state in order to secure reliability of power supply by reducing duration of power blackout (accidental blackout and blackout during works) and by seeking reduction in equipment and manpower used in diagnosis of deterioration through prevention of the accident itself prior to occurrence through early restoration of accident due to insulation deterioration of the electric power cable and assessment of performance of the cable under operation.

  • The solid insulation system of stator windings in high voltage rotational machines is usually aging in accordance with long time operation. The partial discharge test have been known to check whether insulation deterioration exist or not, and the PD test can effectively diagnose a solid insulation condition regardless of during operation(on-line) or not(off-line). The on-line PD measurement have proven to be a successful technique in monitoring stator insulation condition nowadays. This paper describes the characteristics of comparing the on-line PD measurement data using PDMS-HG(Partial Discharge Monitoring System for Hydro-electric Generator) installed in field with the off-line diagnosis measurement data(insulation resistance, winding resistance, PI, ${\Delta}tan{\delta}$ and PD) on hydro generator(13[kV]) stator windings. These results make good use of managing rotational machines through evaluating the solid insulation condition of stator windings.

  • Insulation aging diagnosis system provides early warning regarding electrical equipment defect. Early warning is very important in that it can avoid great losses resulting from unexpected shutdown of the production line. Since relations of insulation aging and partial discharge dynamics are non-linear, it is very difficult to provide early warning in an electrical equipment. In this paper, we propose the design method of insulation aging diagnosis system that use a magnetic wave and acoustic signal to diagnoses an electrical equipment. Proposed system measures the partial discharge on-line from DAS(Data Acquisition System) and acquires 2D Patterns from analyzing it. For fettering the noise contained in sensor signals we used ICA algorithms. Using this data design of the neuro-fuzzy model that diagnoses an electrical equipment is investigated. Validity of the new method is asserted by numerical simulation.

  • In this paper, a novel high-voltage motor monitoring system (HVMMS) is proposed. This system monitors the insulation condition of the stator winding by on-line measurements of partial discharge (PD). Sensor, EMC (Epoxy-Mica Coupler) is used for PD measurement PD signals are continuously measured and digitized with a peak-hold A/D converter to build the database of the high-voltage motor's insulation condition. Also, this system can communicate with the central monitoring system via RS-485. This helps more efficient operation and maintenance of the generator.

  • The water leak in water-cooled generator stator windings can generate the serious accidents such as insulation breakdown and it brings a generator to the unexpected sudden outage. Accordingly, it is important to diagnose the water absorption of them for the effective operation of power plant. Especially, the capacitance value which is measured for diagnosis is very small so the special diagnosis methods like stochastic theory are needed. KEPRI developed the water absorption test equipment and diagnosis technology for them. The developed diagnosis technology is applied to the real system and the results of water absorption test for stator windings are agreed to them of water leak test.

  • Partial discharge on organic insulation surfaces are an important sauce of aging. Furthermore the modern PD measurement technigues are rapid developed as quality control and diagnostic tests to determine the fitness for use of HV equipment employing sol id electrical insulation. This paper deals with theory of conventional PD measurement and new tendency of technical development on PD measurements und evaluations. Finally the Measuring system used for diagnosing the surface aging on the organic insulation at High Voltage Laboratory of Technical University of Darmstadt in Germany is presented.
