  • In this paper, it is studied the electrostatic discharge In Insulating oil for the purpose of the technical control of the streaming electrification resulted from the interface between an insulating liquid and a solid. The streaming current increases exponentially with flow rate and In region of lower than 50[$^{\circ}C$]but decreases at higher than the same temperature. The phenomena of electrostatic discharge appear at an interface between measuring tank and insulating oil when the seven sheets of gauzes are inserted in electrification apparatus. And those of partial or surface discharge are shown when eight sheets are inserted.

  • A quantitative analytical method of highly concentrated PCB is established in the research. With the quantitative analytical method PCB of insulating oil was examined. The following conclusions are derived from this research. 1. The recovery ratio was 95.7% with the quantitative analytical method, which indicates it can be used for the analysis of PCB. 2. PCB concentration of insulation oil in waste condenser was found to be 21.2% thru 13.85% , which was highly concentrated. 3. PCB insulation oil in waste condenser was same as PCB-42.

  • Starting from the distribution transformer, the insulation oil for the oil immersed power transformer is being used to convert the vegetable oil from the existing mineral oil. Vegetable oil is better in temperature characteristics and insulation performance, is not toxic, and has better biodegradable characteristic than that of mineral oil. In order to investigate the corona inception voltage and dieclectic charateristics of the two insulating oils, three oil immersed transformers using mineral oil and vegetable oil were made and thermal cyclic aged. In this paper, the changes in the corona discharge inception voltage, chemical and electrical properties of the two sampled insulating oils from the transformers had been studied.

  • As demand of electric power are growing and transmission line limited owing to enlargement of the downtown area The eonfidence of underground transmission cable which shows gradual growth are high. It is found whether insulating ability is good or not. In this paper, The exper iment result is shown that the fall of insulating ability and take preventive measure through the analysis of tans, water content, dielectric breakdown voltage, total acid number, volume resistivity , and gas in the oil in an accordance with the characteristic change of oil used very much for insulating oil of cable.

  • Radiation induced current of the insulating oil used for X-ray tube housing was investigated in this paper. The X-ray induced current increased in proportion to the X-ray intensity and X-ray wave length and was greatly affected by the temperature of the insulating oil and the gap length` however, the current was not varied by the amount of the X-ray absorbed. The results suggest that one must consider the following problems as important factors for X-ray machine design and normal operation: cooling system of the X-ray tube housing, X-ray intensity, increasing temperature due to continuous operation, years used, and oil exchange and management.

  • This paper shows results on the application of optical fiber sensors(OFS) for locations of ultrasonic signals in silicon insulating oil. The OFS system based on the principle of Sagnac interferometry has been designed and established for this work. The hollowed cylindrical mandrel wound by single mode optical fiber was used as a sensing component and ultrasonic signals which simulate the partial discharge In the oil have been generated by PZT actuator operated with function generator. The experimental results shows that the OFS has a excellent performance for the PD location with resolutions less than 1$^{\circ}C$ error range in the miniature insulating oil tank.

  • In past, transformer connection study was concentrated on efficiency improvement and life time broadening. But environmental side began to become important recently. In existing, quick transaction of mineral oil used to insulation oil of transformer is possibility to be difficult and causes environmental pollution in case of was outpoured and there is worry of fire occurrence. Accordingly, nonflammable performance becomes many interest in excellent vegetable oil because ignition point is high than mineral oil and environment friendly material. But, vegetable oil is cooling of transformer and insulation problem of insulating paper for cause of insulation oil special quality. Therefore, in this paper, special quality of vegetable oil that there are being a lot of mineral oil and the latest interest examined about problem and consideration item to be solved to analyzed comparison and applies vegetable oil to transformer for electric power.

  • Countercurrent oxidation process (COP) was developed and evaluated for treatment of highly concentrated PCB containing insulating oil. The PCB content in insulating oil taken from Haksanmetal company was found to be 1,512 ppm. The COP utilizes a self-sustained flame which propagates itself in a direction counter to the oxygen flow. The flame removes PCBs adsorbed in activated carbon and, at the same time, regenerates activated carbon. The flame temperature was determined from both mass loss of activated carbon and the relative ratio of CO and $CO_2$ exhausted during COP, and showed that its temperature lied in the range of $650-850^{\circ}C$. Removal efficiency of PCBs was achieved above 99.99% for 5% of insulating oil loaded activated carbon with 1 COP in weight ratio. Also, the same removal efficiency was acquired for 60% of insulating oil loaded activated carbon with three consecutive COP. In addition, specific surface area of activated carbon during COP was recovered to almost similar value of virgin activated carbon. It proved that the COP was much effective in removing high concentration of PCBs in insulating oil easily and affordably.

  • This study was measured the radiation-induced current - X-ray dose, dose rate, X-ray quality, time, temperature, electric field characteristics and the dependence of gap length in insulating oil under of D.C. Voltage before, during and after X-ray irradiation. The obtained results can be summarized as following. 1. The radiation - induced current is more the dependence of X-ray quality (tube voltage) than quantity (tube current), the dependence of quantity is appeared at the high than low X-.ay tube voltage. 2. The dependence of dose rate is appeared at the more dose rate, and ${\triangle}\;=\;0.64{\sim}0.74$. 3. The higher temperature of insulating oil and X-ray tube voltage (X-ray quality) is increased, at the low electric field, the more radiation-induced current. 4. $G_{eq}-G_{o}(={\triangle}G)$ is increased at the low than high temperature, high than low X-ray quality. 5. The dependence of temperature is appeared before than during X-ray irradiation. 6. The RIC saturation region is appeared at the high than low insulating oil temperature during (1000 V/cm above) than before (4000 V/cm above) X-ray irradiation.
