This paper presents the state feedback control design for discrete time nonlinear systems where there exists a time delay in input. It is shown that under some boundedness condition, the time delay nonlinear systems can be transformed into the time delay linear systems with time varying parameters. Sufficient conditions for existence of stabilizing state feedback controller are characterized by linear matrix inequalities. Finally, an illustrative example is given in order to show the effectiveness of our design method.
In this paper, we present some properties on receding horizon $H_{\infty}$ control for nonlinear discrete-time systems. First, we propose the nonlinear inequality condition on the terminal cost for nonlinear discrete-time systems. Under this condition, noninceasing monotonicity of the saddle point value of the finite horizon dynamic game is shown to be guaranteed. We show that the derived condition on the terminal cost ensures the closed-loop internal stability. The proposed receding horizon $H_{\infty}$ control guarantees the infinite horizon $H_{\infty}$ norm bound of the closed-loop systems. Also, using this cost monotonicity condition, we can guarantee the asymptotic infinite horizon optimality of the receding horizon value function. With the additional condition, the global result and the input-to-state stable property of the receding horizon value function are also given. Finally, we derive the stability margin for the saddle point value based receding horizon controller. The proposed result has a larger stability region than the existing inverse optimality based results.
This paper presents a method for propagating fuzzy concepts through fuzzy IF-THEN-ELSE rules. A fuzzy IF-THEN-ELSE rule consists of a set of fuzzy condition and conclusion pairs. These pairs assumed to contain informations about a fuzzy mapping from fuzzy concepts of condition parts to the fuzzy concepts of conclusion parts. Conventionally, vectors are used to define fuzzy concepts and matrices are used to define a fuzzy mapping between fuzzy conditions and conclusions. This approach, however, does not satisfy the existing condition property, i.e., when a fuzzy input data exactly matches to a fuzzy condition, fuzzy output data should be mapped to a corresponding fuzzy conclusion. Alternatively, we propose a parameterized approach in which every fuzzy concept is described by a parameterized standard function, including fuzzy conditions and fuzzy conclusions. A fuzzy IF-THEN-ELSE rule takes the parameterized fuzzy concept as an input, and produces a standard function with new parameters as an output. New parameters are determined by a parameterwise interpolation. That is, each output parameters are determined by interpolating parameters of the same class contained in fuzzy conclusions. Obviously, the proposed scheme always satisfies the existing condition property.
A study was conducted for the effects of input energy on fume formation ratios based on electrode(FFR$_{electrode}(g/kg_{electrode})),\;deposited\;metal(FFR_{weld}(g/kg_{weld}))\;and\;slag(FFR_{slag}(g/kg_{slag}))\;at\;CO_2$ flux cored arc welding on stainless steel. Experiments were run in well designed welding fume box. Six types of flux cored wires were used and three levels of current and voltages were given. The measured values of $FFR_{electrode},\;FFR_{weld},\;FFR_{slag}\;are\;7.90{\pm}1.47\;g/kg_{electrode},\;9.18{\pm}1.65\;g/kg_{\electrode},\;71.8{\pm}24.2\;g/kg_{slag}$ respectively. Fume formation ratios are not increased dramatically by input energy because of simultaneous increasing of melted electrodes, deposited metal and slag. The results indicate that the test of fume formation ratios in the research on production of low fume welding wire can be run at the fixed condition of input energy rather than various condition.
This paper describes the use of residual and parameter identification methods for fault detection in an air handling unit. Faults can be detected by comparing expected condition with the measured faulty data using residuals. Faults can also be detected by examining unmeasurable parameter changes in a model of a controlled system using a system identification technique. In this study, AutoRegressive Moving Average with seXtrnal input(ARMAX) and AutoRegressive with eXternal input(ARX) models with both single-input/single-input and multi-input/single-input structures are examined. Model parameters are determined using the Kalman filter recursive identification method. Regression equations are calculated from normal experimental data and are used to compute expected operating variables. These approaches are tested using experimental data from a laboratory's variable-air-volume air-handling-unit.
In the present study the tensile test was carried out for steel sheets to offer the database for the material characteristics at various temperature condition. The results are constructed with tensile strength total elongation Lankford vale and the flow curve and these can be employed usefully into the analyzing program as input data for the sheet metal forming processes at warm condition.
Numerical air quality forecasting suffers from the large uncertainties of input data including emissions, boundary conditions, earth surface properties. Data assimilation has been widely used in the field of weather forecasting as a way to reduce the forecasting errors stemming from the uncertainties of input data. The present study aims at evaluating the effect of input data on the air quality forecasting results in Korea when data assimilation was invoked to generate the initial concentrations. The forecasting time was set to 36 hour and the emissions and initial conditions were chosen as tested input parameters. The air quality forecast model for Korea consisting of WRF and CMAQ was implemented for the test and the chosen test period ranged from November $2^{nd}$ to December $1^{st}$ of 2014. Halving the emission in China reduces the forecasted peak value of $PM_{10}$ and $SO_2$ in Seoul as much as 30% and 35% respectively due to the transport from China for the no-data assimilation case. As data assimilation was applied, halving the emissions in China has a negligible effect on air pollutant concentrations including $PM_{10}$ and $SO_2$ in Seoul. The emissions in Korea still maintain an effect on the forecasted air pollutant concentrations even after the data assimilation is applied. These emission sensitivity tests along with the initial condition sensitivity tests demonstrated that initial concentrations generated by data assimilation using field observation may minimize propagation of errors due to emission uncertainties in China. And the initial concentrations in China is more important than those in Korea for long-range transported air pollutants such as $PM_{10}$ and $SO_2$. And accurate estimation of the emissions in Korea are still necessary for further improvement of air quality forecasting in Korea even after the data assimilation is applied.

This paper presents a DC-DC buck converter with a Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) that can compensates for power efficiency degradation over a wide input range. Its switching frequency is kept at 2 MHz and the delay difference between the High side driver and the Low side driver can be minimized with respect to Process, Voltage and Temperature (PVT) variations by adopting the PLL. The operation mode of the proposed DC-DC buck converter is automatically changed to Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) or PWM frequency modes according to the load condition (heavy load or light load) while supporting a maximum load current of up to 1.2 A. The PWM frequency mode is used to extend the CCM region under the light load condition for the PWM operation. As a result, high efficiency can be achieved under the light load condition by the PWM frequency mode and the delay compensation with the PLL. The proposed DC-DC buck converter is fabricated with a $0.18{\mu}m$ BCD process, and the die area is $3.96mm^2$. It is implemented to have over a 90 % efficiency at an output voltage of 5 V when the input range is between 8 V and 20 V. As a result, the variation in the power efficiency is less than 1 % and the maximum efficiency of the proposed DC-DC buck converter with the PLL is 95.4 %.
