High Performance of Self Scheduled Linear Parameter Varying Control with Flux Observer of Induction Motor

  • This paper deals with a robust controller for an induction motor (IM) which is represented as a linear parameter varying systems. To do so linear matrix inequality (LMI) based approach and robust Lyapunov feedback are associated. This approach is related to the fact that the synthesis of a linear parameter varying (LPV) feedback controller for the inner loop take into account rotor resistance and mechanical speed as varying parameter. An LPV flux observer is also synthesized to estimate rotor flux providing reference to cited above regulator. The induction motor is described as a polytopic LPV system because of speed and rotor resistance affine dependence. Their values can be estimated on line during systems operations. The simulation and experimental results largely confirm the effectiveness of the proposed control.

  • We investigate the evolution of the initially tilted, self-gravitating disks in a live axisymmetric or triaxial halo. Our study shows how the axisymmetric and triaxiaility of the halo alters the evolution of the warp compared to the spherical case. We attribute the development of warps to the torque between a halo and disk and that between the inner and outer regions of the disk. We discuss if the triaxial halo can be responsible for the formation and maintenance of the warp phenomena even in the presence of dynamical friction between the disk and the halo.

Development of Nursing Workplace Spirituality Instrument: Confirmatory Factor Analysis (간호일터영성척도의 확인적 요인분석)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a nursing workplace spirituality instrument. Methods: Using 44 preliminary items which were developed in a former study, a survey was done with 469 nurses working in 2 city general hospitals. Data were collected from September 19 to October 10, 2014 and were analyzed using statistical packages SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. Results: The finalized Nursing Workplace Spirituality instrument consisted of 32 items and 6 sub factors: meaning of nursing, relationship with colleagues, transcendency through nursing service, inner self, interaction between the workplace environments, and harmony between individual and organization. A seven-point Likert scale was employed, and achieving a higher score in a particular factor and sum of all scores indicated high factor and Nursing Workplace Spirituality. Conclusion: Findings indicate that with this instrument, it is possible to understand nursing organization's workplace spirituality. Therefore this instrument is recommended for use in hospitals.

  • We utilized a 2-D PDR code developed by Lee et al. (2014) to explore the observed OH line fluxes toward embedded protostars. This 2-D PDR code combines self-consistently the FUV radiative transfer, gas-energetics, chemistry, and line radiative transfer. We modeled two sources, GSS30-IRS1 and Elias29, which show conspicuous line emission in the Herschel/PACS wavelength range. The physical and chemical structure for a given embedded source was derived by fitting the PACS CO line fluxes. After exploring various parameter spaces, we conclude that IR-pumping effect either by the central IR source and dust in-situ is insignificant for OH emission, unlike previous studies. We here present a possible solution for the observed OH fluxes, which require a high OH abundance and temperature at the inner-part of the UV heated cavity wall.

  • In this paper, we described the basic elements(flowabiligy, fillingability, elapsed time, pumpability, no-vibrating effects, and etc.) required for the application and quality control of the super flowing concrete(SFC) in Top Down site. Also, manufactured sand and fly ash were used for investigating characteristics of SFC through various experiments(mix design, optimum mix condition) before placing the concrete in site. As a result of this project, the developed SFC shown high flowability and self-fillingability in the joint good enough for the requirement. Futhermore, inner uniformity of the no-vibrated concrete was verified by testing reformed space. Therefore, quality control and compressive strength(360kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$) can be secured by using SFC even without vibrating.

  • This paper proposes an interleaved five-level boost converter based on a switched-capacitor network. The operating principle of the converter under the CCM mode is analyzed. A high voltage gain, low component stress, small input current ripple, and self-balancing function for the capacitor voltages in the switched-capacitor networks are achieved. In addition, a three-loop control strategy including an outer voltage loop, an inner current loop and a voltage-balance loop has been researched to achieve good performances and voltage-balance effect. An experimental study has been done to verify the correctness and feasibility of the proposed converter and control strategy.

  • In order to design an effective foot surface which can provide adequate friction for a self-propelled medical microrobot moving inside the small intestine, frictional mechanisms between the small intestine inner wall and the foot surface of the robot must be understood. In this paper, mechanical interlocking effect was considered to design the surface of the foot that can generate the desired frictional force. The concept of the design was derived from the hookworm that lives inside the small intestine. Hookwarms are known to adhere to the small intestine wall by interlocking with villi on the surface of the small intestine. The interlocking mechanism was considered as the main frictional mechanism for the design of the microrobot foot surface in this work. 2 mm and 6 mm diameter solid and hollow cylindrical shaped foot specimens were designed and tested to assess the frictional force between the specimens and the porcine small intestine specimen.

Structure and Physical Conditions in MHD Jets from Young Stars

  • We have constructed the foundations to a series of theoretical diagnostic methods to probe the jet phenomenon in young stars as observed at various optical forbidden lines. We calculate and model in a self-consistent manner the physical and radiative processes which arise within an inner disk-wind driven magneto centrifugally from the circumstellar accretion disk of a young sun-like star. Comparing with real data taken at high angular resolution, our approach will provide the basis of systematic diagnostics for jets and their related young stellar objects, to attest the emission mechanisms of such phenomena. This work can help bring first-principle theoretical predictions to confront actual multi-wavelength observations, and will bridge the link between many very sophiscated numerical simulations and observational data. Analysis methods discussed here are immediately applicable to new high-resolution data obtained with HST and Adaptic Optics.

  • The superconducting transmission cable is one of interesting part in power application using high temperature superconducting wire. One important parameter in HTS cable design is transport current sharing because it is related with current transmission capacity and loss. In this paper, we calculate self inductances of each layer and mutual inductances between two layers from magnetic field energy, and current sharing of each layer for 4-layer cable using the electric circuit model which contain inductance and resistance (by joint and AC loss). Also, transport current losses which are calculated by monoblock model and Norris equation are compared. As a results, outer layer has always larger transport current than inner layer, and current capacity of each layer is largely influenced by resistance per unit cable length. As a conclusion, for high current uniformity and low AC loss, we have to decrease inductances themselves or those differences.

The Analysis of Home Management by the Life Style Types among Housewives (생활양식유형에 따른 가정관리행동의 분석 -서울지역 아파트 거주 주부를 중심으로-)

  • This study aimed at providing basis data to understand homemanagement by patterning of the life styles of housewives and by analysing the disposition of homemanagement behavior and characterstics of the behavior pattern to the difference of the life style patterns of housewives. The result can be summarized as follows: 1. By utilizing factor analysis and cluster analysis, the life style types of housewives were classified into 4 types, namely, self-fulness type (28.4%), negative stagnation type (22.7%), fashion-convenience type (23.3%), innovation-urging type (25.6%). 2. The life style types of housewives which were classified, differed significantly according to all of the demographic variables except family size variable. 3. The disposition of homemanagement behavior which were classified into inner-directed type and other-directed type, differed significantly according to the husband's age variable. 4. The patterns of homemanagement behavior which were classified into market pattern and service pattern, differed significantly according to the all of the demographic variables. 5. The disposition and the pattern of homemanagement behavior differed significantly according to the life style types of housewives.
