  • The purpose of this study was to explore the features of virtual currency, which has become a hot topic recently. The characteristics of virtual currency were examined in terms of the effect on consumer acceptance. Therefore, when using the accepted model of the technology, the derived results should be analyzed by SEM. The research results showed that versatility and reliability affect the ease of use and safety is not have an effect. The utility did not have a direct effect on the attitudes and satisfaction, and the ease of use directly affects the ease of use, attitude and satisfaction. Finally, satisfaction with the attitude had a positive impact on the time of use. Effective strategies to manage the effect of the virtual currency will be possible to formulate from the results of this study.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a conceptual model for the tourism application of the block chain consensus construct and to test the intention of technology acceptance of potential consumers. First, we have tried to investigate the security, reliability, functionality was derived. Secondary, structural validation of the proposed model confirmed the factors influencing the acceptance of block chain technology in terms of consumers. Based on this, we apply the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology to evaluate. Individual innovation and block-chain technology have a strong causal relationship with the proposed block chain acceptance intentions based on the Hybrid Block Chain Consensus system, which shows strong innovation and strong cognitive status. In addition, the factors directly affecting the acceptance of block-chain are the benefits expected from the block chain, the technical infrastructure required to use the service, the perceived benefits available. The influence of the surrounding environment on the adoption of technology and ease of use on new technology did not affect the acceptance intention significantly.

  • The benefits of information technology cannot be obtained unless potential users utilize it for their work. This led to a lot of research works on computer system acceptance. But most of the works address the early stage of system introduction, leaving the learning effect on system acceptance unexplored. In this longitudinal study, two groups of novice and experienced users have been empirically investigated and compared for their acceptance of computer system and for the learning effect of actual usage. A research model based on the technology acceptance theory has been proposed and applied to the two groups. The result shows that the factor job relevance gets more important and the effect of user training on system acceptance diminishes as time passes. This finding may help introducing computer systems which can be easily accepted by users over the whole life cycle period of computer systems.

  • The adoption of technology has always been of interest to academicians and practitioners of the field of Management Information System. This is so because without proper and adequate adoption, technology-no matter how beneficial or advanced it may be-will be of little value to users. Numerous researches, such as the researches of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) or the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), had been conducted to understand the human nature in association with the adoption or rejection of technologies that have bombarded the users. The coming of smart technologies (i.e., smart phones and devices), however, seems to have fundamentally changed the environment for adoption. The ubiquity combined with mobility of technology, especially when it comes to mobile apps, seem to make the old PC era of two-stage-pre and post-adoption models obsolete. A new model of adoption that identifies the determinants of technology acceptance and continuance is needed for the smart age. To this end, this paper undertakes an empirical study, by analyzing 229 users of Social Networking Service (SNS) mobile apps, to identify the role of user experience on the multi-stage adoption of technology, and provides results that User Experience (UX) plays the crucial role of bridging the separate stages of pre and post adoption of technologies. The paper concludes by providing practical implications of the new model as it relates to mobile apps and technologies, and recommendations for further studies to get a better understanding of technology adoption in the smart age.

  • The purpose of this study, we examined the influencing factors of acceptance of new information systems and attitude formation in 279 local government officials who were exposed to the use of new information technology, and examined the moderating role of technostress and absorptive capacity. As a result, technostress negatively affected attitudes by moderating perceived ease of use, and absorptive capacity generated a positive effect that further increased perceived usefulness. Technostress and absorptive capacity have both direct and moderating effects on attitudes. It suggests that management of technostress and absorptive capacity, which affects the formation of attitudes toward information technology acceptance, becomes more important for local government officials who need to accept new information technology through Top-Down decision making. In particular, we discussed ways to reduce technostress in order to prevent cognitive dissonance about determinants of technology acceptance.

  • Information systems that are not used cannot be useful. In order to increase user acceptance, it is necessary to understand why people accept or reject information systems. Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) is one of the most influential research models for studying determinants how users accept information systems. Recently, Knowledge Management Systems(KMS) have become important components of corporate systems as the foundation of industrialized economics has shifted from natural resources to knowledge assets. This paper applies TAM to investigate users' acceptance of KMS in public administration institutions. It sampled 182 users who had experience in using KMS. Many empirical researches have suggested that TAM can be integrated with other organizational theories to improve its predictive and explanatory ower. We extended the basic TAM by the integration of appraisal and reward satisfaction theory. There are many external variables that influence the perception and the belief of system users. We introduced two external variables(job characteristics, IT self-efficacy) and one additional perception variable, perceived appraisal and reward(PAR) in the basic TAM model. The LISREL model analysis is used for finding out the causality among variables and testing the model fitness. As result, The IT self-efficacy influences to the perceived ease of use(PEOU) and the PAR, and the PEOU influences directly to the perceived usefulness(PU), the PAR, and the attitude toward KMS. The KMS participation intention(PI) was influenced by the PAR and the attitude directly, andbythePEOUindirectly. Finally, this paper suggests some guidelines for the adoption of KMS in public sectors on the basis of the study results.

  • Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) has been a basis model for testing technology use. Post researches of TAM have been conducted with the updating the TAM by adding new independent variables in order to increase the explanatory power of the model. However, the problem is that different independent variables have to be required to keep the explanatory power whenever adopting particular technology. This might reduce the generality of the research model. Thus in order to increase the generality of the model, this study reviewed the previous researches and collected the independent variables used, and regrouped them into three basic independent constructs. New research model was designed with three basic independent constructs with three constructs selected for the involuntary information technology usage environment. Finally, this study concluded that new technology acceptance model could be used to explain the use of new technology without any adding new particular independent variables.

  • Being able to adopt new information technologies into an organization is very important and critical in the rapid changing, competitive environment. In this research, existing papers related to the information technology acceptance of the 1990s have been studied and analyzed, and the components that affect the use of groupware have been studied by setting up an evaluation model to find the emotional status of the individuals that use groupware. Based upon the survey of 218 groupware users, this study utilized path analysis with LISREL8.12. The major results are as follows: First, perceived usefulness was influenced by training, perceived ease of use. Second, training, groupware self-efficacy, organizational support were determinants of ease of use. Third, training, task ambiguity, task interdependence, organizational support influenced subjective norm. Forth, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, subjective norm had positive effects on present usage.

  • Despite many numbers of studies in Technology Acceptance Model(TAM), the social influence construct has not been recognized, nor handled clearly. This study includes the social influence construct in TAM and tests the robustness of the model for different information systems contexts: office automation(spreadsheet) and Internet(WWW) usage. Study findings include that 1) social influence has a direct impact on the usage of spreadsheet, but not on Internet(WWW) usage, and 2) social influence has a stronger indirect impact on IS use through perceived ease of use than through perceived usefulness(for both Internet and spreadsheet).

  • Despite the fact that virtual communities on the Internet have been growing at an exponential rate in recent years, little research has been done on the characteristics of virtual communities. In order to better understand and manage the activities of virtual communities, a theoretical model is proposed in this paper. The objective of this paper is to clarify the factors as they are related to the Technology Acceptance Model. In particular the relationship among identities, trust, and other factors are hypothesized. Using the Technology Acceptance Model, this research showed that the importance of identity and trust in virtual communities. The members of virtual communities interact continuously and share an identity. According to the identity type, different ways of stimulating the members are necessary in order to facilitate participation in activities of virtual communities. The virtual communities of a more utilitarian identity are more sensitive to trust in members than trust in the service provider, and members of a more utilitarian identity are inclined to exchange information with each other.
