  • The development of AI technology has brought about a big change in our lives. The importance of AI and data education is also growing as AI's influence from life to society to the economy grows. In response, the OECD Education Research Report and various domestic information and curriculum studies deal with data literacy and present it as an essential competency. However, the definition of data literacy and the content and scope of the components vary among researchers. Thus, we analyze the semantic similarity of words through Word2Vec deep learning natural language processing methods along with the definitions of key data literacy studies and analysis of word frequency utilized in components, to present objective and comprehensive definition and components. It was revised and supplemented by expert review, and we defined data literacy as the 'basic ability of knowledge construction and communication to collect, analyze, and use data and process it as information for problem solving'. Furthermore we propose the components of each category of knowledge, skills, values and attitudes. We hope that the definition and components of data literacy derived from this study will serve as a good foundation for the systematization and education research of AI education related to students' future competency.

  • With the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, software(SW) education has become a necessity, not a choice of those who live in the digital age. Recently, many countries around the world have been actively promoting software education based on Computational Thinking(CT) for K-12 students, so software education in schools has bigger meaning as basic literacy education of future digital generation rather than coding skills. However, the integration of software education as a formal curriculum in schools is still ongoing in even other countries. Korea is also pursuing software education, but it is in the beginning stage. Therefore, we need to study the cases of other countries that have already started software education at the national level. In this paper, we first investigate the software education cases of three countries, e.g., UK, France and China with a respect of background & educational objective, development stage, and curriculum and we suggest education policies that software education can settle in Korea schools to foster a creative talented people.

  • Eisner emphasized the importance of problem-solving objectives and expressive objectives in addition to behavioral objectives, and communication through multiple modalities including linguistic, visual, aural, spatial, gestural modes. This study analyzes 'Libraries and Information Life,' a textbook developed for information literacy instruction, by dividing it into educational objectives types(behavioral, problem-solving, expressive) and multimodal modes(linguistic, visual, auditory, spatial, and gestural), and seeks to derive implications for setting educational objectives for information literacy instruction and developing textbooks. The textbook has four volumes for elementary low-grade, elementary high-grade, middle school, and high school levels. Educational objectives were extracted from the textbooks, and 3 librarian-teachers were engaged in the analysis of these objectives. The main findings and implications of this study are as follows. First, when looking at the types of educational objectives, the proportion of behavioral objectives was found to be excessively high, and there is a need to strengthen the proportion of problem-solving objectives and expressive objectives. Second, problem-solving objectives tend to overlap with behavioral objectives, indicating a need to develop problem-solving objectives with defined conditions and solution requirements. Third, expressive objectives concentrated in specific units need to be placed evenly in other units. Fourth, in the case of multi-modality mode, the proportion of the linguistic mode must be reduced, the proportion of the visual, auditory, spatial, and gestural modes must be increased, and it is necessary to set educational objectives with clear characteristics of each mode.

  • The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the inquiry tasks included in the elementary social studies with school library based instruction (SLBI) focused on the information literacy process and select teacher librarians' educational role under learning for social studies. For this purpose, national elementary curriculum of $4^{th}$, $5^{th}$ and $6^{th}$ social studies in the second term are analyzed. As results of analysis, the $4^{th}$ and $5^{th}$ students who take part in solving the inquiry tasks could compare and analyze illustrations, photographs and texts in their text books individually and present the results with speaking. The $6^{th}$ students could deal with their tasks using their experience, idea or information found from other resources and express the outcome orally according to the content of inquiry tasks. Therefore, teacher librarians could teach information literacy skills such as comparison, contrast, combination, distinction between opinions and facts, or prediction and inference of conclusion to the $4^{th}$ and $5^{th}$ elementary student. Teacher librarians can also participate in whole information literacy instruction for the $6^{th}$ students from building the solution strategies of tasks, collecting and using materials to completing and evaluating the results under the long term collaboration with the classroom teachers.
