The Effect of Media Image and Major Satisfaction on Nurse Image of Health and Non-health Students after COVID-19 (COVID-19 이후 보건계열과 비보건계열 대학생의 대중매체 이미지와 전공만족도가 간호사 이미지에 미치는 영향)

  • The study attempted to identify the factors affecting the image of nurses in health and non-health university students after COVID-19. The study was collected from November 15, 2021 to 2011 and 28th, 2021, from 133 health-related and 123 non-health-related students in four universities. This data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, correlation, and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS 22.0 program. As a result of the study, whether the nurse image according to general characteristics is in the first grade of health-related college students(t=2.82, p=.006) showed a statistically significant difference. The nurse image of college students showed a positive correlation with the mass media image and major satisfaction in both health and non-health fields. For health-related college students, the image of mass media, major satisfaction, and first grade influence the image of nurses (F=40.42, p<.001)In the case of university students in non-health departments, it was found that only the media image affects the nurse image. (F=20.13, p<.001). In order to improve the image of nurses, it is necessary to have continuous interest in contact with the media through new media and to approach it systematically.

Study on activities of some occupational health nurses in Kyungnam area (경남지역 일부 산업간호사의 업무수행에 관한 연구)

  • Authors purposed to observe activities of occupational health nurses and it's related factors, and to suggest the way that induct better occupational health nurses' activities with questionaire to 87 occupational health nurses who individually work as health manager in the plant. The questionaire included type of plant and number of workers, general characteristics, work conditions, activities, etc. Major findings are as follows. 1. 82.8% of occupational health nurses were third decade. 93.1% graduated junior college or college. And 82.8% were not married. 2. General work conditions: 40.2% were belonged to safety-health section, 98.85% were mere clerks. 60.9% worked less than weekly 44 hours, and an annual salary of 50.6 % was between 10 million and 14 million won. 3. Work condition related to health manager work: there was separated health care room in 94.3%, working period as health manager(occupational health nurse) was less than 5 years in 70.1%, 49.4% had the out-of-health manager work. In 87.4%, occupational physician was appointed, only 6.9% of them were full time, 52.9% of them worked little in the plants. The problems related to workers' health were discussed with industrial nurses in 88.5%. 4. Attitude for their work: 88.5% were thought that their work is important for workers' health care, 57.5% satisfied to work as health manager. In 51.7%, motive to being industrial nurse were the appropriate aptitude. 5. Activities: General medical care in 100% were carried out, in 97.7% works related to general health examination, in 100% works related to special health examination were carried. But works related to use of protective apparatus were carried out in 20.8%. 6. Factors related to level of activities: In cases who solved the health related problems by themselves, the level of activites was significantly higher than in others. In cases there were full time occupational physician, the level of activities was significantly lower. 7. Occupational health nurse's needs: 100% wanted regular education, 89.7% wanted the qualifying examination. As the results, author suggests that the right of self-control is given to occupational health nurses and the work of occupational physician is clearly defined for the induction of the better activities of occupational health nurses.

A Study on Satisfaction of New Nurse Orientation Program Applying CIPP Evaluation Model Focusing on Affiliated Hospitals of an Educational Foundation in South Korea. (CIPP평가모형을 적용한 신규 간호사 입문교육 만족도에 관한 연구: 일 학교법인 산하 대학병원을 중심으로)

  • This study was conducted to analyze new nurse satisfaction and factors of the new nurse orientation program and improve their effectiveness. The CIPP evaluation model was applied in this study to assess each module of the program systematically. The respondents of the survey were 452 of five affiliated hospitals of an educational foundation. The respondents' perceptions were 'Senior', 'Operating', 'Introduction', 'Unity', 'Usefulness', and 'Needs' (from highest to lowest). Multiple regression analysis indicated that 'Operating', 'Unity', 'Usefulness', and 'Hospital Introduction' had a significant impact on satisfaction. The results presented herein indicate that planners and operators should improve effectiveness of new nurse orientation programs by enhancing sense of unity, instilling confidence as a nurse, and increasing personal utilization of subjects.

Validity and Reliability of a Korean Version of Behavior Health Care Competency on Non-psychiatric Nurse (한국어판 비정신과 간호사의 행동건강간호역량 측정도구의 신뢰도 및 타당도)

  • This is a methodological study that verifies the validity and reliability by translating and modifying the Korean version of Behavior Health Care Competency (BHCC) tool. This study verified the content validity, construct validity, and reliability of 230 nurses working in general hospitals. The BHCC tool was analyzed using a total of 4 factors and 16 items. The tool had a high level of reliability and validity. The BHCC is a measurement tool considering the mental health care of non-psychiatric nurses, and it has meaning in that it establishes basic material so non-psychiatric nurses can manage the patient's physical and potential psychiatric problems effectively.

Financial Projection of the Nursing Fee Differentiation Policy Improvement Proposal in the National Health Insurance: Using a Break-even Analysis Model for the Optimal Nursing Fee (적정 간호인력 등급별 입원료 추정 모델을 이용한 간호관리료 차등제 정책개선 재정부담 추계)

  • Purpose: This study was done to propose an improvement in the Nursing Fee Differentiation Policy to alleviate polarization of nursing staffing level among hospitals and to rectify the confusion of legally mandated standards between the Korean Medical Law and National Health Insurance Act. Methods: The policy regulation was reconstructed related to nurse staffing standards and nurse-to-patients ratios. Data on nurse staffing grades were obtained from database of the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (HIRA) for the third quarter of 2010 for 44 tertiary hospitals, 274 general hospitals, and 1,262 hospitals. A break-even analysis was used to estimate financial burden of the revised policy improvement proposal. An industrial engineering method was used to calculate Nurse-to-Patients ratios per shift. Results: Twelve tertiary hospitals were downgraded. 74 general hospitals and 102 hospitals were upgraded after application of the regulation. Finances for total hospitalization expenditures changed from -3.55% to +3.14%. Conclusion: The results indicate that the proposed policy would decrease polarization between tertiary hospitals and small hospitals, and would not put a major strain on the finances of the Korean National Health Insurance. Therefore, it is suggested that government stake-holders and many interest groups consider this policy proposal and build a consensus.
