정부재정지원 사업 참여에 따른 대학 성과 차이 분석 연구 : 2018~2020년 공학교육혁신지원사업과 LINC사업을 중심으로 (A Study on the Differences of University Performance according to Participation in the Engineering Educational Innovation Support Project)

  • The purpose of this study is to objectively grasp the effect of the engineering education innovation support project among the national engineering-related financial support projects by dividing the groups according to the participation of support projects from 2018 to 2020 and dividing the university performance. As a result of the research the engineering education innovation support project has been consistently producing excellent results of field-based engineering education such as field-oriented industrial-educational collaboration capstone design, technology commercialization, and development and operation of corporate-linked education. It was found that the results showed that the dropout rate of college were lowered. In the future, it needs to be prepared as a place for new and free trials, innovations, and opportunities so that the engineering education innovation support projects can become the mother of other business groups.

Influence of Alkali and Silane Treatment on the Physico-Mechanical Properties of Grewia serrulata Fibres

  • Grewia serrulata fibres were chemically treated with 3%, 6%, and 9% NaOH for the duration of 4 h. Additionally, the NaOH-treated fibres were also treated with 3 - (trimethoxysilyl) propyl methacrylate (silane). Properties such as density and tensile strength of the treated fibres were compared against the untreated fibres. The highest density was obtained in the case of 9% NaOH + silane treated fibres, which was 26.47% higher than untreated fibres, implying effective removal of hemicellulose. Likewise, the highest tensile strength was also obtained in the case of 9% NaOH + silane treated fibres. The increment observed in the tensile strength of the natural fibres was related to the removal of impurities, hemicellulose, and stress-raisers as well as deposition over the fibre surface that smoothed it. These observations were further validated by estimating changes in chemical constituents due to chemical treatment along with characterization techniques such as scanning electron microscopy and thermogravimetric analysis.

  • This paper deals with the introduction of capstone design project by team activities in Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Korea Maritime University. This course is referred to as Creative Engineering Design for spring semester of 4th-year undergraduates. The course focuses on creative thinking and cooperative mind to students by learning engineering design skills, realizing their idea through design project and recognizing practicality of their systems. The intent of the course is to provide a true "capstone" experience, where students can combine their skills to achieve the successful completion of a project. This paper describes class process and evaluation method, and cooperative works with mentees and industrial mentors connected through Hanium network for IT mentoring activities.

텍스트 마이닝을 이용한 산업공학 연구기법의 분석 (An Analysis of the Research Methodologies and Techniques in the Industrial Engineering Using Text Mining)

  • We survey 3,857 journal articles published on the four domestic academic journals in the industrial engineering field during 1975~2012. Titles, abstracts, and keywords of the papers are searched by means of text mining technique to draw the information on the methodologies and techniques adopted in the papers, and then we aggregate and merge similar ones to obtain final 38 representative methodologies and techniques. Trends of these methodologies and techniques are studied by analyzing frequencies, clustering, and finding association rules among them. Results of the paper can shed a light to choose tools in the future education and research in the industrial engineering related area.

창의적 공학 설계 활동에서 팀 규모에 따른 팀 상호작용 분석 (Analysis on Team Interaction of Team size in Creative Engineering Design Activity)

  • This study is to analyze the team interaction in accordance with the team size. Thereby, it is to reveal the team size for the attainment of the effective team interaction and the specific goals to achieve the purpose of this study are as follows. Firstly, the frequency and percentage of team interaction in accordance with the team size are presented. Secondly, the statistical verification of the team interaction in the social emotional area is conducted. Thirdly, the statistical verification of the team interaction in the task area is conducted. In order to do this study, we explain the purpose of study, confidentiality, and withdrawal right were described and then 32 persons who agreed to participate were selected as the subjects for the study. After that, the autonomous organization of team was induced and a total of 8 teams were organized - 3 teams comprised of 3 members, 3 teams of 4 members, 1 team of 5 members, and 1 team of 6 members. Further, Bales' (1950) Interaction Process Analysis (IPA) was used in order to analyze the team interaction, and Mangold INTERACT was used as a coding program. The results of study are as follows. Firstly, the highest frequency of the team interaction showed up in the case of five or six members and the lowest in the case of 3 members. Secondly, a statistically significant difference in the social emotional (positive) area showed up in accordance with the team size and the team organizations of three or four members were effective. Thirdly, a statistically significant value in the answer area showed up in accordance with the team size and the team organizations of five or six members were effective.

  • This paper applied the Blue Print and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) to education service in order to raise the education service satisfaction. First, the Blue Print is deployed to come up with strategies to overcome the fail possibility point and waiting point. Next, in order to analyze the fail factors and alternative strategies, the Blue Print of education service is applied to FMEA. The results are as follows; first, the ommission from information document by web-mail or e-mail, Second, thing that selected in spite of company uneducated, thing that omitted despite the company is target, and the unsatisfaction of attendee about training contents. Third, the delay of counsel at the telephone reply, erroneous list of course name and attendee at HRD (Human Resource Development), omission of check whether attends or not. Except for unsatisfaction of attendee, all appears at the process that service delivered. And the unsatisfaction of attendee is about education contents. Both is the factor which have influence on the education service quality. The strategies to remove the failure mode are training and manual development on service and work, a thorough management and check of information system like as ERP (Enterprise Resoure Planning), HRD, education institution list DB (Data Base), on-line application system, a development of education program to offer best education that reflect the user needs and continuously changing environment.
