Road transport allows all forms of land conditions to be met at less cost. Because of this function, despite numerous disadvantages, it becomes the most frequently used method of transport, especially in underdeveloped or developing countries. One of the most significant factors used in evaluating the atmosphere's air quality is the amount of CO2, increasing people's density in indoor spaces. The amount of CO2 indoors is, therefore, vital to determine. In this study, CO2 and temperature measurements made on nine different bus journey was made in Turkey. The minimum and maximum values were recorded as 555 ppm and 3000 ppm CO2, respectively, in the measurements. On all journeys, the average concentration is 1088.72 ppm. The minimum and maximum values were measured as 17.4℃ and 32.7℃ in the temperature measurements, and the average of all trips was calculated to be 25.76℃. In this study conducted before the Covid-19 pandemic, it was determined that the amount of CO2 increased with the density and insufficient ventilation in the buses. The risk of infection increases in places with high human density and low clean air. For situations such as pandemics, CO2 measurement is a rapid indicator of determining human density.
Recently, the use of Dwelling House has been expanded due to the rapid urbainzation and congestion of population in City. Indoor Air Quality in apartment houses was investigated by measuring pollutants such as $CO_2$ gas, dust concentration. In this study, the mesurements of indoor air environment were performed in Dwelling house in Seoul area to investigate indoor air environment and the relation of air contaminative and the response level. Indoor air contamination and living environment of the occupants have been compared & analyzed with practical investigation of IAQ in Seoul, Korea and Tokyo, Japan.

Carbon dioxide in atmosphere causes concrete carbonation which is the phenomenon, that is, the pH of concrete changes from 12-13 to 8.85-10. Even though the carbon dioxide concentration of indoor is higher than that of outdoor, the micro measurement has not carried out. The concentration of carbon dioxide was measured in three places. The data was used as boundary condition to FEM analysis for expectation of concrete carbonation depth. The affect of building finish materials to concrete carbonation was discussed.
The ventilation system is a key device to ensure both healthful indoor air quality (IAQ) and thermal comfort in buildings. The ventilation system should make the IAQ meet the standards such as ASHRAE 62. This study deals with a new approach to modeling the ventilation and IAQ requirement in residential buildings. In that approach, Elite software is used to calculate the air supply volume, and CONTAM model as a multi-zone and contaminant dispersal model is employed to estimate the contaminants' concentrations. Amongst various contaminants existing in the residential buildings, two main contaminates of carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) and carbon monoxide (CO) were considered. CO and $CO_2$ are generated mainly from combustion sources such as gas cooking and heating oven. In addition to the mentioned sources, $CO_2$ is generated from occupants' respirations. To show how that approach works, a sample house with the area of $80m^2$ located in Tehran was considered as an illustrative case study. The results showed that $CO_2$ concentration in the winter was higher than the acceptable level. Therefore, the air change rate (ACH) of 4.2 was required to lower the $CO_2$ concentration below the air quality threshold in the living room, and in the bedrooms, the rate of ventilation volume should be 11.2 ACH.
Together with the concern about the indoor air quality as sick house syndrome, the Ministry of Environment announced "Indoor Air Quality Control Law for the Multi Purpose Facility," which made the interests to be focused in the urgent understanding of current condition and preparation of measures about the indoor air pollution. The law was revised to obligatorily notify the amount of Formaldehyde and Volatile Organic Compounds in the case of newly constructed apartments with more than 100 houses. School also have its own indoor air quality guideline. Indoor air quality in school is very important because, children who very weak to indoor pollutants reside long time in there. The purpose of this paper is to to survey indoor air quality in school by field measurement. Field measurements were performed in 11 schools which were selected from 3 major cities(Incheon, Dae-jeon, chuncheon) in korea, Totally concentration of indoor pollutants were determined in 32 classroom. Target air pollutants were TVOC, formaldehyde, dust, CO, CO2. For the result of this investigation, Indoor air quality in classroom was very poor and it was found that some pollutants(TVOC, float bacteria) exceed the guideline.
The purpose of this research is to analyze characteristics and related factors of IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) in newly built wooden houses by measuring pre and post occupancy. The subjects were five wooden houses which were built with similar materials and completed from July to December 2013. Measuring factors were TVOC, HCHO, PM10, $CO_2$, CO, indoor temperature, and relative humidity. As the result of pre occupancy measuring, the houses that revealed the lowest TVOC concentration or HCHO concentration were satisfied with "the standard for newly built apartment houses". Therefore, IAQ by the wooden structures is considered to be in good condition. However, in cases of partial value exceeded the standard, the reason is analyzed to be the materials of molding, wrapping doors, built-in closet, or kitchen furniture, etc. rather than structure materials. Most PM10 concentration level showed slightly below "the standard for occupied multi-use facilities". Remaining of construction dust was considered to be the reason. As the result of post occupancy measuring, every value except of one subject's TVOC concentration was lower than pre occupancy, explaining the importance of natural ventilation.
The current focus of domestic car industry is moving from technological development to reducing greenhouse gas. This study investigates and measures the HVAC system and indoor air condition of highway buses, which is conducted to develop a HVAC system using natural energy in the future. The measurements show that thermal balance is not fulfilled because heating sources are randomly placed, and relative humidity is in the 20 percent range both in HVAC and non-HVAC systems, which is far below 40%, or the highest thermal comfort level. CO2 concentration was found to be an average of 1500 ppm, but not more than 2522 ppm with 15 persons on board, and with 29 persons on board, an average of 2053 ppm, but not more than 3066 ppm, both of which far exceed allowed CO2 concentration level, or 1000 ppm. Generally, highway buses drop by rest stops and open doors for 15 to 20 minutes for getting in fresh air. But its air improvement effect is temporary, and it exacerbates indoor air condition.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the concentration of indoor air pollutants at 63 elementary schools, 41 middle schools and 51 high schools in Ulsan from the beginning of May to the end of December, 2008. To assess the indoor air quality of the various classrooms, the 8 indoor air pollutants such as $CO_2$, CO, $NO_2$, $O_3$, $PM_{10}$, TVOCs, HCHO and TBC were measured and analyzed. The mean concentrations of $PM_{10}$ and TBC in the elementary schools were significantly higher than those of middle and high schools (p < 0.01). For the HCHO, the multi-use practice rooms showed an average 1.5 times higher than general classrooms. In schools located in urban areas, the concentrations of CO, $O_3$, $PM_{10}$, HCHO and TBC were lower than in the vicinity of industrial complexes. The exceeding rate of the school air quality maintenance limits in the 6 air pollutants by law were 6.7%, 3.5%, 1.7%, 18.2%, 13.0% and 18.4% for $CO_2$, $NO_2$, $O_3$, $PM_{10}$, HCHO and TBC, respectively. Based on these results $PM_{10}$ and TBC have to be in the order of priority of need to improve the classroom air quality in elementary school of Ulsan.
This is a basic study to improve air quality of school classrooms in winter time. The purposes are to check indoor thermal and air environment in school classrooms during winter and to analyze influencing factors on indoor environment. The measurements of students' physical elements with questionnaire surveys were carried out in a total of 6 classrooms. As a result, this research shows that the temperature of one classroom was below indoor thermal standard level, three classrooms had lack of heat, and two classrooms are heated much, which induce relatively low humidity. All of 6 classrooms had lack of ventilation, being high level of $CO_2$ concentration and 2 classrooms are in condition of high PM10 concentration. The majority of students(76%) answered that the cause of their 'heated space syndrome' is because of the lack of ventilation. Students' opening windows for ventilations is hardly carried out at normal times, except that indoor temperature is over standard. That is, we can suggest one of solutions, which is to enable students to operate heating and ventilating system by themselves according to students' physical condition.
Higher concentrations of ammonia ($NH_3$) and carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) in animal barns can negatively affect production and health of animals and workers. This paper focuses on measurements of summer concentrations of ammonia ($NH_3$) and carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) in a naturally ventilated laying henhouse located at an egg production facility in Bursa region, western Turkey. Also, indoor and ambient environmental conditions such as temperature and relative humidity were measured simultaneously with pollutant gas concentrations. The average $NH_3$ concentrations during summer of 2013 was 8.05 ppm for exhaust and 5.42 ppm for inlet while average $CO_2$ concentration was 732 ppm for exhaust and 625 ppm for inlet throughout summer. The overall minimum, average and maximum values and humidity were obtained as $16.8^{\circ}C$, $24.72^{\circ}C$, and $34.71^{\circ}C$ for indoor temperature and 33.64%, 63.71%, and 86.18% for relative humidity. The lowest exhaust concentrations for $NH_3$ and $CO_2$ were 6.98 ppm and 609 ppm, respectively. They were measured in early morning at the maximum diurnal ventilation rate in July 2013 and August 2013. The highest concentrations were 10.58 ppm for $NH_3$ and 904 ppm for $CO_2$ recorded in the afternoon when the ventilation rate was the lowest in June 2013.
