Consider the several methods of constructing interval for relative ration from two independent binomial samples. The special interests are gives in the cases of low rates and small samples. bias-corrected and accelerated bootstrap method is proposed to overcome are the non-efficiency of current methods based on asymptotic resuts. Simulation studies are presented to demonstrate the performance of the proposed method.

This paper is concerned with the design of robust state feedback controller for a class of linear time-delay systems with norm-bounded nonlinear uncertainties. Under the proposed delay-independent criterion, asymptotic stability for the system is investigated using the conventional Lyapunov method. Moreover, the robust controller can be obtained by solving the linear matrix inequality which is equivalent to the suggested conditions.

This paper describes the optimization of design variables of SLIM using finite element method and SUMT(Sequential Unconstrained Minimization Technique). Thrust is taken as an objective function in order to maximize thrust under constant current drive, and seven independent design variables and nine constraints are chosen. As a result, $\tau$/g(pole pitch/airgap) and $\tau$/$d_{AL}$(pole pitch/aluminum depth) of good criteria in SLIM design are determined.

In the earlier papers we analyzed the axisymmetric, nonstationary electrodynamics of the central black hole and a surrounding thin accretion disk in an active galactic nucleus. Based on those papers we analyze the axisymmetric, nonstationary black hole magnetosphere in this paper. We concentrate on deriving the ‘Grad-Shafranov equations’; both in the force-free and non-force-free cases. In the time-independent limit our equations naturally coincide with stationary equations as they should.

A computer program to calculate properties of nitrogen is developed. Procedures for the calculation is briefly discussed. The program calculates unknown thermodynamic properties fixing the state with two independent input properties. If input value by user is inappropriate, it displays an error message and replaces the input value with an appropriate one. In addition user can change units with easy. The program developed in this work can be utilized to calculate parameters required for the simulation and design of an equipment using nitrogen.

A 3-way VLIW multimedia signal processor capable of efficient repeated operations as well as both load/store and type transformations for various data types is presented. It is composed of a 32-bit execution unit that can execute two instructions in parallel, an independent load/store unit and a control unit. The processor is implemented with 0.6${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ gate array and the results are discussed.

The polymerization rate, chemical structure and optical properties of tetramethyldisiloxane(TMS) have been investigated. The rate of polymerization of TMS films increased nonlinearly with the discharge power. The refractive indices of thin films varied from 1.40 to 1.43 and they also increased with increasing discharge power. Also, the extinction coefficient was about 0.2 and is independent of photon energy.

This paper presents user adaptation methods to overcome limitations of a user-independent model and a user-dependent model in a Korean sign language recognition system. To adapt model parameters for unobserved states in hidden Markov models, we introduce new methods based on motion similarity and prediction from adaptation history so that we can achieve faster adaption and higher recognition rates comparing with previous methods.

This study compared cross-national Twitter use between Korea and Japan. The main exploratory variables were a) cultural traits and b) disclosure of geographic information. Twitter use was measured by the degree of reciprocity and the numbers of Tweets, followings, and followers. Data were collected using API-based software and analyzed with independent samples t-tests. Content analysis was conducted to validate the findings. The results indicate that Korean and Japanese users employ their own communication strategies reflecting their cultural orientation.
