The effects of oxygen annealing on the carbon content in MgO thin films were investigated, MgO thin films were deposited on Si(100) substrate at different temperatures of 400 to $700^{\circ}C$ and different deposition rates of 3.4 to 11.6$\AA$/min. Using rf magnetron sputtering method. Carbon content change on the surface of MgO thin films with the oxygen annealing at different temperatures was investigated using various method. The carbon content decreased as the annealing temperature increased. $Pb(Zr_{0.53}Ti_{0.47})O_3$(PZT) thin films were deposited on the MgO/Si(100) substrates. The effects of carbon content on the phase formation and the electrical properties of PZT thin films were also investigated.
The effects of welding conditions of gas metal arc welding on the elements loss of solid wire, oxygen content and impact toughness of weld metals were studied. Deoxidizing elements loss was increased with increase of arc voltage in both short-circuit transfer mode and globular transfer mode. It is believed that increase of arc voltage results in increase of reaction time between elements in the droplet and surrounding gas at the end of wire and in the arc column. Based on the thermodynamic equilibrium model, the oxygen content of weld metal can be predicted with the content of silicon and manganese as following : [%O] = $K([%Si][%Mn])^{-0.25}$, K = -15518/T+6.01. The equilibrium temperature was dependent on shielding gas, and it was 187$0^{\circ}C$ for $CO_2$ gas and 180$0^{\circ}C$ for 20%$CO_2$-80%Ar gas. The oxygen content of weld metal which shows maximum impact toughness was varied with deoxidizing alloy system of wires, 0.041 wt% for Si-Mn type wire and 0.026 wt% for Si-Mn-Ti type wire.
Indium tin oxide (ITO) films were deposited on glass substrates at $300^{\circ}C$ in oxygen/argon mixtures by RF-enhanced DC-magnetron sputtering and were compared to those by conventional DC magnetron sputtering. The RF enhancement was performed using a coil above an ITO target. X-ray diffraction measurements revealed that RF-enhanced plasma affected the preferred orientation and the crystallinity of the films. The resistivity of the films prepared by RF-enhanced DC-magnetron sputtering was almost constant at oxygen content lower than 0.3% and then increased sharply with increasing oxygen content. However the resistivity of the films by conventional sputtering has little dependence on the oxygen content. Those results can be explained on the basis of the incorporation of oxygen into the ITO films due to the RF enhancement.
Effect of cyclohexanone treatment on the activities oxygen free radical and cyclohexanone metabolizing enzyme in acute liver damaged rats, was investigated. Acute liver damage was induced in rats with pretreatment of 50% $CCl_4$ in olive oil(0.1ml/100g body wt) intraperitoneally 3 times every other day. Cyclohexanone(1.56g/kg body wt, i.p.) was administered to the animals 24 hours after the last Pretreatment of CC1$_4$. Rats were sacrificed at 4 hours after injection of cyclohexanone. On the basis of liver weight/body weight(%), serum levels alanine aminotransferase activity and hepatic protein content, cyclohexanone treatment to acute liver damaged animals led to the more enhanced liver damage. On the other hand, injection of cyclohexanone to the rats led to the increased activities of hepatic cytochrome P-450 dependent aniline hydroxylase and xanthine oxidase. Furthermore, by treatment of cyclohexanone to the acute liver damaged rats hepatic xanthine oxidase activity was more increased than the $CCl_4$ treated rats. In case of oxygen free radical scavenging system, the hepatic glutathione content and the activities of hepatic glutathione S-transferase, catalase, superoxide dismutase were generally increased by injection of cyclohexanone to rats, and the hepatic glutathione content, catalase and alcohol dehydrogenase activities were more decreased in liver damaged rats by the treatment of cyclohexanone. In conclusion, the cyclohexanone treatment to acute liver damaged rats led to enhancement of liver damage that may be due to oxygen free radical together with cyclohexanone.
Chemical looping combustion (CLC) is a promising carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology whose efficiency and cost primarily relies on the oxygen carrier materials used. In this paper, gadolinium-doped ceria (GDC, Ce0.9Gd0.1O1.95) was added as a promoter to improve the oxygen transfer rate of MgMnO3-δ oxygen carrier materials. Increasing GDC content significantly increased the oxygen transfer rate of MgMnO3-δ-GDC composites for the reduction reaction due to an increase in the surface adsorption of CH4 via oxygen vacancies formed on the surface of the GDC. On the other hand, the oxygen transfer rate for the oxidation reaction decreased linearly with increasing GDC content due to the oxygen storage ability of GDC. Adsorbed oxygen molecules preferentially insert themselves into oxygen vacancies of the GDC lattice rather than reacting with (Mg,Mn)O to form MgMnO3-δ during the oxidation reaction.

In this study, the effect of scrap ratio on the mechanical properties of Zr alloys was studied. Oxygen content in the ingot cake increased rapidly with increasing fraction of scrap, which can be attributed to the surface oxide of scrap including small pieces of turning, chips, etc. Iron content did not increase much with the increasing addition of scrap, suggesting scrap materials was well reserved in the iron-free container. As-cast structure of Zr alloy with the scrap:sponge ratio displayed plate/or needle ${\alpha}$ phase and no appreciable change of the cast structure was observed with change of scrap fraction. The strength increases with increasing fraction of scrap, which can be attributed to the increase of oxygen content. The ductility decreased slightly with increase of scrap fraction. Dislocation-oxygen interaction is known to increase the strength at the expense of ductility. Ingot cake with intentionally added $Fe_2O_3$ exhibited the drastic decrease of the formability, even exhibited the brittle fracture behavior during rolling. The oxidation resistance, however, increased with the increase of scrap fraction because of high oxygen content, which may prevent more penetration and diffusion of oxygen into matrix.

We synthesized molybdenum thin films deposited by RF magnetron sputtering and physicochemical analysis was performed. The physical and chemical properties of these films were examined with X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The obtained film at the oxygen ratio of 0% showed crystallinity of cubic Mo(110) phase. After the oxygen ratio increased more than 5% in the sputter gas, the molybdenum films were formed as an amorphous phase. The thickness of the Mo thin film was drastically decreased from 1000 nm to ca 70 nm after introduction of oxygen in the sputter gas confirmed by spectroscopic ellipsometer (SE) and scanning electron spectroscopy (SEM). The calculated band gap of the film deduced from SE data increased from 3.17 to 3.63 eV by addition of oxygen in the sputter gas. The roughness of the Mo film was examined with atomic force microscopy (AFM) and it was dramatically decreased by introducing of oxygen during sputtering. XPS results revealed that the ratio of metallic Mo species in the film decreased by the contents of Mo(VI) species increased at the ratio of oxygen increased in the sputter gas and fully oxidized at low content of oxygen in the sputter gas.
Oxygen behaviors in CZ-silicon wafer, grown by the Lucky Advanced Materials Inc. that is a pioneer of silicon material industries in Korea, were investigated to simulate effects on the device performance of oxygen, neglecting the effect of other impurity content, defects and thermal history. Silicon wafers were annealed through simulated 16K SRAM thermal cycle. As initial oxygen concentration increased up to 16.7ppma the amount of oxygen precipitation increased up to 10.6ppma and the bulk microdefect density increased up to $10.3{\times}10^3/mm^2$, but the depth of the denuded zone decreased to $5.0{\mu}m$

The effects of milling time in argon and hydrogen atmospheres on the hydrogen sorption speed of a getter alloy, $Zr_{57}V_{36}Fe_{7}$, was studied. The hydrogen sorption speed of milled alloys was evaluated at room temperature. In argon, as the oxygen content increased with milling time, the hydrogen sorption speed decreased accordingly. In hydrogen, on the other hand, the oxygen content decreased at first with milling time but started increasing after 5 hrs of milling time. Similar to the case of argon, however, the hydrogen sorption speed changed exactly in the opposite direction with the oxygen content, exhibiting the maximum rate at 5 hrs. These results suggest that in both atmospheres the hydrogen sorption speeds are inversely related with the oxygen contents.
Microalgae Nannochloropsis oculata (N. oculta) and Chlorella vulgaris (C. vulgaris) are important sources for biodisel because of the high content of neutral lipids. Stable nano bubble is maintained for a long time and therefore it is possible for use in biotechnology. In this study, effects of nano bubble oxygen or hydrogen water on the microalgae growth were characterized. The cell growth in nano bubble water was similar to that of control, and the total lipid content was rather low. But, chlorophyll content of N. oculata grown in nanno bubble oxygen and hydrogen water increased 54% and 30%, and increased 59%, 39% in C. vulgaris. Carotenoid content also increased 21%, 25% in N. oculata and 49%, 29% in C. vulgaris grown in nano bubble oxygen and hydrogen water. From these results, nano bubble water seems to enhance the photosynthetic capacity of microalgae.
