A significant number of all reported accidents in Korea involved education and training Based on the Labor Ministry data, statistics, show the education cause was directly involved in 38% of major accidents, Since safety managers have in charge of safety education at the factory, occupational safety curriculum must be studied to train safety manager effectively. In this study an analysis on relative importance of industrial safety curriculum for a good safety manager was performed by Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) The results showed that relative importance of industrial safety curriculum by AHP was safety management(w=0.240) ergonomics and system safety(w=0.201) construction safety(w=0.182) mechanic safety(w=0.139) electronic safety(w=0.134) and chemical safety(w=0.104) in order. The results could be used for industrial safety curriculum planning in university and safety organization such as Korea Occupational safety and Health Agency.

This study aims to suggest a classification system for integrated management and shared use of disaster and safety information, which is currently produced and managed separately in disaster-related organizations. The study conducted a survey with organizations in charge of disaster management to analyze existing disaster-related classification systems and developed the first draft of the classification system. Later, in-depth interviews were conducted with disaster experts and a review was made by library and information science professors for the final touch. As a facet classification system consisting of 7 facets, it will be effective in supporting disaster management tasks as well as representing the complex nature of disaster and safety information.

It is predicted the mass retirement of the post-war generation and the lack of young people according to reduces the recruitment. Therefore, industry fields are concerned by the low level of occupational safety and health from issued problem in a variety of industries; the charge of expanding business range/multi-functional, black box of technology, difficulty of systematic training, relative decrease in the skill of workers, loss of know-how in the field of information followed restricted site information. In response to these problems, it is necessary to establish the long-termly and actively based on for the adoption of a safety and health management techniques utilizing IT, which is digital assistant(tablet PC, PDA, etc.), RFID/USN/ICT, database systems, and etc. In this study, we developed and evaluated a worker's safety sensing apparatus using smart phone. The apparatus may be useful to prevent accidents in the construction industry as well as confined space work.

The use of the gas turbine for power supply is increasing recently. Accordingly, the operation and maintenance cost of the gas turbine is gradually increasing and the various efforts to cut the cost are needed. For an operation and maintenance cost saving of the gas turbine, reductions of the new purchasing charge and the reproduction repair cost of the hot gas parts are required through more effective operation and life management methods for the hot gas parts. The hot gas parts are the main parts of the gas turbine and they are replaced with the periodic. In this research, efficient operation and life management methods for the hot gas parts were presented with the cases. The methods were analyzed and verified based on real data and the cases for improving a lifetime were utilized in the field.

Because of not accepted on escape using elevators in fire emergency has some background. In the background elevator hoistway has turn into smoke spread route in fire. The escape that used an elevator was not able to make ends meet; of the big confusion is expected that cannot control the escape adequately, and do that elevator facilities breakdown possibility by the fire water, the escaper shut in car. Therefore ban on elevator service in fire time as a general rule. Recently, a few company promote super high-rise architecture in the country, a fire disaster prevention and human life safety measures preparation for PBD(A Performance Based Fire Protection Design) are studied concretely. And there is the escape example in fire time that used an elevator in the foreign country. You must promote it so that the escape measures that used enclosed stairway and an elevator in charge of a function of the mutual supplement. The result of this research can be used for establishing the standard and regulation for using elevators in fire emergency.

This study proposes a priority model for program directors in charge of Corporate Social Contribution to make the best decision. This empirical analysis aims to discover the most significant area among various programs of Corporate Social Contribution Activities. The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is used to test the priority model. The study attempts to demonstrate how the model helps providing better decision choices in corporate practices. A new type of capacitor named "Super Capacitor" has been developed, in which the properties of electric double layer formed at the interface of activated carbon electrode- liquid organic electrolyte is applied. This capacitor is small In size, light in weight, wide In temperature range(-25~$70^{\circ}C$), large in charge-discharge capability and good in voltage preservation. And this super capacitor is applied as a power back-up for electricity failure in volatile memory devices etc., a power source for a short time and a power source for operating actuators. At present the development of high power back-up types of the capacitor system and improvement of their characteristics are being actively conducted in order to find wider applications.lications.

Product Liability(P.L) is designed for system which charge with a compensation for demages that has nothing to do with whether manufacturer make a mistake or not in that case suffer heavy losses anyone of body or property by defect of product. Now and then, most people interest of safety of product and main countries already carry out Product Liability. This paper analyzes newly studied cases by defects, products, countries in Korea and some developed countries (USA and Japan mainly) in order to prepare for Product Liability, which will be enforced on July 1, 2002 in Korea. Before P.L. began to enforce, many cases have happened and resulted in sues. Therfore, each country have revised the current P.L. after many trials and errors. From this respect, the cases of other countries and Korea will be compared and analyzed.

Korea ship management industry originated from overseas seamen employment business since 1963 in the Republic of Korea. Recently, new trend of shipping business has developed in a separate way with ship's ownership and management, that is, cargo business which is in charge of shipowner and practical affairs for ship operation which is in charge of specialized ship management company. Ship Management Industry is being focused as a new development engine with the anticipation of continuous development over 10% a year leading a competitiveness and saving cost in the world market. Therefore, "Draft Ship Management Industry Development Act" was suggested by the shipping business group and academic scholars as a result of continuous research for a long time. This was also submitted to the national assembly for adoption as a national law. The purpose of this paper is to make a contribution to the development of Korea ship management industry through the consideration of each article of this draft Act implications and suggestion of legal and institutional improvements. The result of this study will ultimately contribute to the growth of the Korean ship management industry and enhance their business scope internationally. For the above mentioned purpose, I focus on nurturing and supporting Korea ship management industry, and accreditation of superior ship management industry, etc. within the scope of the submitted draft act.

The Risk assessment regulation(RAR) is one of the essential articles of the Occupational safety and health law for the construction industry along with safety and health management expense and safety organization regulation. However, arguments regarding the working time of the safety assessment documents, the person in charge of documentation, weakness in legislative enforcement etc. are ongoing. Thus this study aims to analyze the effectiveness of RAR for the guidance of enhancing the effectiveness of RAR. The findings are; 1) the effectiveness of RAR is recognized, however the indirect effectiveness ie, enforcement of safety activities, previewing of drawings etc. are bigger than the direct effectiveness of accident prevention, 2) to enhance the effectiveness of RAR site inspection procedure has to be utilized, 3) further research for identifying and getting rid of negative factors in RAR is recommended.
