Analysis of the Formation of Porosity and Segregation in $Al_2O_3/Al$ Composites by Squeeze Infiltration Method (가압함침법에 의한 $Al_2O_3/Al$ 복합재료의 기공 및 편석의 발생에 대한 분석연구)

  • The squeeze infiltration process is potentially of considerable industrial importance. The performance enhancements resulting from incorporation of short alumina fiber into aluminum are well documented. These are particularly significant for certain automobile components. Aluminum matrix composite automotive parts, such as diesel engine pistons or engine blocks are produced using squeeze casting apparatus or pressure die-casting apparatus. But the solidification process gets complicated with manufacturing parameters and the factors for porosity formation have not fully understood yet. In this study the formation of porosity during squeeze infiltration has been studied experimentally to achieve an improved understanding of the squeeze infiltration process for manufacture of short-fiber-reinforced components, particularly the mechanism of porosity formation. Al-based MMCs produced under a range of conditions were examined metallographically and the porosity characterised;a kind of matrix, an initial temperature of melt, and a volume fraction of reinforcement. The densimetry and the microscopic image analysis were done to measure the amount of porosity. A correlation between manufacturing parameters and defects was investigated through these.

The image of ideal woman and the preference of clothing in the situation of first impression formation (첫인상 형성 상황에서의 이상적 여성상과 의복스타일 선호도)

  • This study tried to investigate whether characteristics of the perceiver and image of ideal woman made differences in the important factors for the selection clothing and the preference of clothing. A poll of 650 men & women between the ages of 20-39 living in Daegu was taken for this study. Factor analysis, cluster analysis, frequency, ANOVA-test, t-test, and $\chi$$^2$-test were implemented with the SPSS-package. The characteristics of clothing types used in this study included: sexy, masculine, feminine, dramatic, elegant-classic, and casual. The results were as follows. 1. In the situation of first impression formation, the characteristics of the perceiver made differences in the selection of clothing types. Women took self-satisfaction and fashion factors to be more important than men, so did persons in their 20s than 30s. And the unmarried took self-satisfaction factor to be more important than the married. 2. Men and women had different images of the ideal woman. Under special situations of first impression formation, such as, formal blind dates on the condition of marriage and casual blind dates, there were differences in clothing preference.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of clothing type and hair style on men’s impression formation. The experimental design was 4×2×2×2 (clothing type×hair style×perceiver’s age×perceiver’s role) factorial design with between-subjects design. The stimuli of color photographs of male in his 20's model and semantic differential scale were used. The data were obtained from questionnaires completed by 881 men and women in the metropolitan area of Seoul. The SPSS package was used for data analysis which includes factor analysis, t-test, and Cronbach’s a to measure the reliability. This study showed the following results. Four factors were derived to account for the dimensions of impression formation. These were dignity, activity, individual character, and social intercourse. Men evaluated individual character factor higher than women did. Dignity factor was evaluated higher by students, while social intercourse factor was evaluated higher by office workers. The clothing type of shirts/pants was evaluated to be more active and more sociable than of jacket/pants. Men wanted to exhibit natty image and women did elegant image through clothes.

Reconstruction of Head Surface based on Cross Sectional Contours (단면 윤곽선을 기반으로 한 두부표변의 재구성)

  • In this paper, a new method of the 3D(dimensional) image reconstruction is proposed to build up the 3D image from 2D images using digital image processing techniques and computer graphics. First, the new feature extraction algorithm that doesn't need various input parameters and is not affected by threshold is adopted This new algorithm extracts feature points by eliminating some undesirable points on the ground of the connectivity. Second, as the cast function to reconstruct surfaces using extracted feature points, the minimum distance measure between two plane images has been adopted According to this measure, the surface formation algorithm doesn't need complex calculation and takes the form of triangle or trapezoid To investigate usefulness, this approach has been applied to a head CT image and compared with other methods. Experimental comparisons show that the suggested algorithm yields better performance on feature extraction than others. In contrast with the other methods, the complex calculation for surface formation in the proposed algorithm is not necessary.

A Study on the Characteristics of Landscape cognition and Image in Deagu City (대도시 경관인지 및 이미지 특성에 관한 연구 -대구시를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to focus on the townscape of Daegu based on the urban characteristics of the landscape cognition and images captured by citizens. The analysis was performed by the data obtained from questionnaires and interviews. This study methods were deals the cognition characteristics, landmark landscape, visual preference landscape, image and satisfaction. The results are summarized as follows: 1. The orders of cognition landscapes were estimated Apple> Weather> Texture> Mt.Palgong> Daegu Tower> Pretty Girl> Mt. Apsan> Dalsung Park> Conservative> Dongsung Road, etc. That is constructed Nonphysical elements(62.0%) and Physical elements(38.0%) 2. The orders of representative landscape(Landmark) in city were estimated Mt.Palgong> Daegu Tower> Gat Rock> Mt.Apsan> Dalsung Park, etc. As a whole middle and old people(over 30gen) preferenced as a history landscape or natural landscape, but youth people(10-20gen) preferenced as visible and interesting artifical places. 3. While the positive attitudes for the image of city were traditional(3.30), intimacy(3.58), and rest(2.90), the negative attitudes were unnewly(2.34), closing(2.37) and narrow(2.40). Also total satisfaction for that was estimated 5.51. 4. Psychological factors, related to the satisfaction of the image of city were composed of four factors, individuality character, pleasure character, amenity character, formation character. And the presumption formula of satisfaction was: Satisfaction = 5.477 + 0.752(Individuality) + 0.470(Pleasure) + 0.413(Amenity) + 0.241(Formation).

  • The relation between the paper formation analyzer by image process system and smoothness, compressibility uniform of ink absorption is studied. There results indicate that the paper with bad formation has higher apparent bulk than the paper with good formation. The bad formation of paper results in the nonuniform calendering and decrease of the compressibility. The bad formation of paper also results in deformation and omission of printing dots, which affects the reproduction of the printing images.

The Effect of Mass Media on Women's Clothing Image, Make-up Image and Hair Image (매스미디어가 여성의 의복과 메이크업 및 헤어이미지에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of mass media on women's clothing image, make-up image, and hair image. The subjects of the study were 306 women who lived in Gyeongnam area. Data were collected during June in 2009. Statistical analysis used in this study were frequency, F-test, t-test, Duncan test, factor analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. The results of this study were as follows. The mass media according to the demographic characteristic of women showed significant difference. Three factors of clothing image were titled as elegance, youth, and visibility. Three factors of make-up image were titled as modern, romanticism, and mediocrity. Four factors of hair image were titled as attraction, individuality, gentleness, and cuteness. The mass media resulted in correlation with the clothing image, make-up image, and hair image. The mass media had a influence on the clothing image, make-up image, and hair image. The study results are highly expected to be used as useful sources in one's image formation and a marketing plan.
