Surface properties, including the texture and the luster, of cotton fibers and yarns thereof play an important role in textile technology. The convolutions and the cross-sectional shape of the cotton fiber affect the fabric texture and the luster accordingly. Mercerization of the cotton fabric affects the luster, strength, and other properties of the fabric. In this study, the effect of mercerization was examined on the luster of the cotton fabric, together with the effect of polishing treatment. One of the traditional methods determining the fabric luster is the use of glossmeter or goniometric glossmeter. The use of glossmeter gives successful results in determining the gloss of rather flat and continuous surface such as plastic sheet, painted surface, or paper products. Since the textile fabrics have diverse surface structures and textures, these could be regarded as having three-dimensional surface. Such complexity imposes some difficulties for differentiating subtle surface luster properties of diverse textile fabrics. The advancement in the area of imaging technologies has enabled the micro-scale analysis of the surface textures and the fabric luster recently. Using a CCD camera, the surface luster images were taken at various incident illumination conditions. Microscale analysis, including the blob analysis, of the images could differentiate the subtle luster properties present in a group of cotton fabric samples comprising mercerized cotton fabric, non-mercerized cotton fabric, polished cotton fabric, and a 'standard' cotton fabric. The glossmeter measurement gave satisfactory but limited differentiation among the samples, whose luster differences are easily recognizable with visual observation, except for the mercerized cotton fabric sample and the non-mercerized cotton fabric. The microscale analysis of the fabric luster could, therefore, help understand the nature of diverse textile fabric luster.
In this work, the high ${\kappa}$$Zr_xAl_{1-x}O_y$ films with a different Zr concentration have been deposited by atomic layer deposition, and the effect of Zr concentrations on the structure, chemical composition, surface morphology and dielectric properties of $Zr_xAl_{1-x}O_y$ films is analyzed by Atomic force microscopy, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and capacitance-frequency measurement. The effect of Zr concentrations of $Zr_xAl_{1-x}O_y$ gate insulator on the electrical property and stability under negative bias illumination stress (NBIS) or temperature stress (TS) of ZnSnO (ZTO) TFTs is firstly investigated. Under NBIS and TS, the much better stability of ZTO TFTs with $Zr_xAl_{1-x}O_y$ film as a gate insulator is due to the suppression of oxygen vacancy in ZTO channel layer and the decreased trap states originating from the Zr atom permeation at the $ZTO/Zr_xAl_{1-x}O_y$ interface. It provides a new strategy to fabricate the low consumption and high stability ZTO TFTs for application.
This paper reports design and demonstration of optical systems for reflective-type remote optical displacement sensors. Optical systems for light illumination sources and a position sensitive detector (PSD) for the displacement sensor were developed to sense displacement of bridges and instability of skyscrapers in a distance range from 10 m to 250 m to an accuracy better than a few mm. Performance of the optical systems was verified by composing a displacement sensor and by using it in measurement of displacement of a remote target with proper reflective optics depending on distance. The displacement sensor was composed of two LED light sources, each with collimating optics, and a two-dimensional PSD with telescope-type optics. Its displacement resolutions was measured to be 0.1 mm at a distance of 10 m and less than 3 mm at a distance of 250 m.

To keep pace with Industry 4.0, it is imperative for companies to redesign their working environments by adopting robotic automation systems. Automation lines are facilitating the latest cutting-edge technologies, such as 3D vision and industrial robots, to outdo competitors by reducing costs. Considering the nature of the manufacturing industry, a time-saving workflow and smooth linkwork between processes is vital. At Dellics, without any additional new installation in the automation lines, only a few improvements to the working process could raise productivity. Three requirements are the development of gripping technology by utilizing a 3D vision system for the recognition of the material shape and location, research on lighting projectors to target long distances and high illumination, and testing of algorithms/software to improve measurement accuracy and identify products. With some of the functional requisites mentioned above, improved robotic automation systems should provide an improved working environment to maximize overall production efficiency. In this article, the ways in which such a system can become the groundwork for establishing an unmanned working infrastructure are discussed.

Today, the handicapped or old people require continuous care, but there are a lot of practical difficulties. In this paper, the system measuring health conditions of the handicapped or old people (pulse and temperature) is developed. If urgent health conditions occur, measurement values are delivered to doctors or close family members using SMS (Short Message Service) of cellular phone. In the developed system, Pulse rate is measured by sensing bloodstream using high luminance LED and CdS illumination sensors. Body temperature is also measured by contactless temperature sensor. Also, the measured values are transmitted to a server computer using Zigbee communications. Also, the measured values the average of measurements and the time are saved. The wireless healthcare system is designed to help the emergency for the handicapped and old people by using SMS.

The stochiometric mix of evaporating materials for the CuInSe$_2$ single crystal thin films was prepared from horizontal furnace. To obtain the single crystal thin films, CuInSe$_2$ mixed crystal was deposited on thoroughly etched semi-insulating GaAs(100) substrate by the Hot Wall Epitaxy (HWE) system. The source and substrate temperature were 62$0^{\circ}C$ and 41$0^{\circ}C$, respectively. The crystalline structure of single crystal thin films was investigated by the photoluminescence and double crystal X-ray diffraction (DCXD). The carrier density and mobility of CuInSe$_2$ single crystal thin films measured from Hall effect by van der Pauw method are 9.62$\times$10$^{16}$ cm$^{-3}$ , 296 $\textrm{cm}^2$/V.s at 293 K, respectively From the photocurrent spectrum by illumination of perpendicular light on the c-axis of the CuInSe$_2$ single crystal thin film, we have found that the values of spin orbit splitting ΔSo and the crystal field splitting ΔCr were 6.1 meV and 175.2 meV at 10 K, respectively. From the photoluminescence measurement on CuInSe$_2$ single crystal thin film, we observed free excition (Ex) existing only high quality crystal and neutral bound exiciton (D$^{\circ}$,X) having very strong peak intensity. Then, the full-width-at -half-maximum(FWHM) and binding energy of neutral donor bound excition were 7 meV and 5.9 meV, respectivity. By Haynes rule, an activation energy of impurity was 59 meV.

In the manufacturing process of the LQFP/TQFP (Low-profile Quad Flat Package/Thin Quad Flat Package), the requirement of a 3 dimensional inspection is increasing rapidly and a 3D inspection of the shape of a chip has become an important report of quality control. This study developed a 3 dimensional measurement system based on PMP (Phase Measuring Profilometry) for an inspection of the LQFP/TQFP chip and image processing algorithms. The defects of the LQFP/TQFP chip were classified according to the dimensions. The 2 dimensional optical system was designed by the dorm illumination to achieve constant light distribution, In the 3 dimensional optical system, PZT was used for moving 90 degree in phase. The problem of 2 ambiguity was solved from the measured moir? pattern using the ambiguity elimination algorithm that finds the point of ambiguity and refines the phase value. The proposed 3D measurement system was evaluated experimentally.
With the expanded use of radiation in modern medical practices, the most important issue in regards to efforts to reduce individual exposure dose is quality assurance. Therefore in order to study the present condition of quality assurance, the Gwangju Metropolitan City area was divided into five districts each containing ten hospitals. Four experiments were conducted: a reproducibility experiment for kVp, mA, and examination time (sec) intensity of illumination; half-value layer (HVL) measurement; and beam perpendicularity test matching experiment. The tube voltage reproducibility experiment for all fifty hospitals resulted in a 95.33% passing rate and mA and examination time both resulted in a 77.0% passing rate. The passing rate for intensity of illumination was 86.0% and 52.0% for HVL, which was the lowest passing rate of all four factors. For the beam perpendicularity test matching experiment, generally the central flux is matched to within $1.5^{\circ}$. Of all fifty hospitals 30.0% were beyond $3^{\circ}$. The results of the survey showed that 58% responded that they knew about quality assurance cycle. All fifty respondents stated that they have not received any training in regards to quality assurance at their current place of employment. Although quality assurance is making relative progress, the most urgent issue is awareness of the importance of quality assurance. Therefore, the implementation of professional training focusing on safety management and accurate quality assurance of radiation will reduce the exposure to radiation for radiologists and patients and higher quality imaging using less dosage will also be possible.
