In this paper, an electronic control unit is developed using 16bit microcomputer for automobile engine. This system incorporate AFS(Air Flow Sensor) of Hot Wire type, DIS(Direct Ignition System), ISC(Idle Speed Control) system, CAS(Cranke Angle Sensor) and other peripheral device. This system includes hardware and software to facilitate precision control of both fuel injection and ignition timing. Especially, this controller consists of position signal(180 teeth) and 4 REF signals. Present system has maximum $720^{\circ}CA$ delay. But this system has maximum $180^{\circ}CA$. Thus, this system is able to precision control both fuel injection and ignition timing.
Nowadays, the issue of congestion control in high-speed communication networks becomes critical in view of the bandwidth-delay products for efficient data flow. In particular, the fact that the congestion is often accompanied by the data flow from the high-speed link to low-speed link is important with respect to the stability of closed-loop congestion control. The Virtual-Connection Network (VCN) in Gigabit Ethernet networks is a packet-switching based network capable of implementing cell- based connection, link-by-link flow-controlled connection, and single- or multi-destination virtual connections. VCN described herein differ from the virtual channel in ATM literature in that VCN have link-by-link flow control and can be of multi-destination. VCNs support both connection-oriented and connectionless data link layer traffic. Therefore, the worst collision scenario in Ethernet CSMA/CD with virtual collision brings about end-to-end delay. Gigabit Ethernet networks based on CSMA/CD results in non-deterministic behavior because its media access rules are based on random probability. Hence, it is difficult to obtain any sound mathematical formulation for congestion control without employing random processes or fluid-flow models. In this paper, an analytical method for the design of a congestion control scheme is proposed based on Smith's principle to overcome instability accompanied with the increase of end-to-end delays as well as to avoid cell losses. To this end, mathematical analysis is provided such that the proposed control scheme guarantees the performance improvement with respect to bandwidth and latency for selected network links with different propagation delays. In addition, guaranteed bandwidth is to be implemented by allowing individual stations to burst several frames at a time without intervening round-trip idle time.

Controller for doubly-fed induction-type wind generation system should be designed with mechanical power on blade. The controller in this paper consists of upper level controller and lower level controller. The upper level controller determines operating modes according to mechanical input power and calculates proper reference values. There are 4 operating modes - minimum speed control, variable torque control, torque limit control and idle mode. The lower level controller performs current regulated PWM control of rotor-side converter and grid-side inverter. A wind turbine simulator is implemented using doubly-fed induction-type generator and DSP based back-to-back converter to verify the performance of designed controller experimentally.

In this paper, the effects of ethanol blended gasoline on emissions and their catalytic conversion efficiency characteristics were investigated in a multiple-point EFI gasoline engine, The results show that with the increase of ethanol concentration in the blended fuels, THC emissions were drastically reduced by up to thirty percent, And brake specific fuel consumption was increased, but brake specific energy consumption could be improved. However, unburned ethanol and acetaldehyde emissions increased. Pt/Rh based three-way catalysts were effective to reduce acetaldehyde emissions, but had low catalytic conversion efficiency for unburned ethanol. The effect of ethanol on CO and NOx emissions and their catalytic conversion efficiency had close relation to the engine's speed, load and air/fuel ratio. Furthermore fuels blended with thirty percent ethanol by volume could dramatically reduced THC CO and NOx emissions at idle speed.

In this paper, the adaptive nonlinear state observer is proposed to estimate the internal states and the nonlinearities of 4-cylinders 4-cycles spark ignition(SI) engines. The observed states and nonlinearities will be used to design the adaptive feedback linearization controller for reducing the fluctuation of idle speed. The simulation results are represented to show the validity of the proposed nonlinear observer-based adaptive controller.

Clutch torque control is the key to the ride comfort improvement of a vehicle equipped with AMT (automated manual transmission). For such control, the torque transfer starting point, known as the "kiss point," should be indicated or at least estimated to compensate for the clutch torque. The kiss point changes due to wear, high temperature, and fatigue; as such, it should be estimated while the vehicle is being driven. In this study, the method of kiss point active estimation for an AMT vehicle with a dry-type clutch was devised. The kiss point is learned while the engine is in an idle state and while the transmission is at a neutral gear position. It is determined when the input shaft of the transmission starts to rotate by slowly engaging the clutch. The noise of the shaft speed signal during the slow engagement process is filtered for accurate control. The kiss point estimation at various clutch engagement speeds was analyzed via a vehicle test.

Robust control for DC motor is needed according to the highest precision of industrial automation. However, when a motor control system with PID controller has an effect of load disturbance, it is very difficult to guarantee the robustness of control system. In this paper, PID-Self Tuning control method for motor control system as a compensation method solving this problem is presented. If the PID control system is stable in the sense that the error is inside the constraint set, the supervisory control is idle. If the error hits the boundary of the constraint, the supervisory controller begins operation to force the error back to the constraint set. We prove that the PID-Self Tuning control system is globally stable in the sense that the error is guaranteed to be within the tolerance limits specified by the system designer.
The purpose of this paper studies the failure cases including with system of liquefied phase injection in liquified petroleum gas vehicle. The first case, resulting with inspection the injector of LPG, it occasionally certified the injection damage phenomenon that the fuel efficiency(km/l) was decreased to 5% by carbon deposit with injector hole when the driver operates the vehicle. The second case, it certified the interference phenomenon of air flow with carbon deposit in ISA system control for idle speed of engine and throttle body suppling air into engine. As a result, the fuel efficiency was decreased 7%. The third case, the outer air during intake stroke was intermittently flowed in this gasket gap because of weaken adhesion power phenomenon for cylinder block by intake manifold gasket tearing. Consequentially, it certified the decrease for fuel efficiency to 3% by risen the amount of fuel injection as the air inflow quantity. These failure examples reduced the power performance of engine and the fuel efficiency of vehicle. It have to minimize of failure phenomenon preparing through quality management.

Robust control for DC motor is needed according to the highest precision of industrial automation. However, when a motor control system with PID controller has an effect of load disturbance, it is very difficult to guarantee the robustness of control system. In this paper, PID-Expert hybrid control method for motor control system as a compensation method solving this problem is presented. If PID control system is stable, the Expert controller is idle. if the error hits the boundary of the constraint, the Expert controller begins operation to force the error back to the constraint set. The disturbance effect decrease remarkably, robust speed control of DC motor using PID-Expert Hybrid controller is demonstrated by the simulation.
There is a tendency of using the resilient mounting system to control the structure born noise transimitted from a engine of which weight is comparatively light and of which speed is comparatively high. According to recent reports, the resilient mounting system is applied to control the vibration of a engine running up to 300 - 400 R.P.M.. Furthermore, the resilient system is also used to the ships such as marine exploring ships, fishing boats, and military vessels. It is not desirous to apply the results for the resilient mounting systems of automobile engines to the controls of the vibrations of marine engines. Marine engines are worked under the idle speed in port and are operated up to the maximum contineous revolution at sea(running up condition). And marine engines are usually worked in inevitable conditions such as a misfire and a cut-off cylinder operating condition. Concerning the above running conditions, a resilient mounting system should be designed in the case of marine engines. In this paper, we studied the effect of engine's misfire on the resilient mounting systems. And the influences of design parameters, such as dynamic characteristics and fitting angles of resilient rubber mountings, were also investigated respectively on the single and double resilient mounting systems.
