Background: This study investigatedthe factors influencing the degree of education in the Department of Dental Hygiene at K University on the degree of education required for a convergence major related to the medical device industry. Methods: For 5 days from December 5, 2023, 257 students of the Department of Dental Hygiene at a university in Wonju Citywere surveyed, and an online survey was conducted. General characteristics, school satisfaction, satisfaction with majors, perceptions of multi-majors in universities, and the degree of demand for a convergence major related to the medical device industry were examined. Since normality was not satisfied, non-parametric analysis was performed. To confirm the differences in convergence major related to medical device industry education needs according to general characteristics, the Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis test were performed. Post-hoc analysis was performed, and the median, minimum, and maximum values were presented. Multiple regression analysis was performed to confirm the effect on the demand for a convergence major related to the medical device industry, and the statistical significance probability was set at 0.05. Results: As a result of examining the factors affecting the demand for a convergence major related to the medical device industry, it was found that the more experience one has in completing a double major in college (p<0.05) and the higher the degree of satisfaction with the major (p<0.05), the statistically significant need for an interdisciplinary major was higher(p<0.05).

This study aimed to investigate major satisfaction and career maturity according to the values of college students majoring in food management and culinary arts. To do this, frequency analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression were conducted and analyzed using SPSS18.0 program. Analysis results indicate that the values of the college students majoring in dining and culinary education have effects on major satisfaction and career maturity. In particular, pragmatic value is a very important factor in increasing major satisfaction and career maturity, and social recognition and curriculum factors are very significant for students to make career decisions. Therefore, in order to enhance college students' major satisfaction and career maturity, it's necessary to teach sound values so that they can build self-esteem value. Also, it's essential to organize subject contents and curriculums in which theory and practice are allocated properly so that students can be interested in their majors and have new experience as well as the community's right recognition for college students majoring in dinning and culinary education and their active interest as the study suggests.

The purpose of this study would like to investigate the effect of major satisfaction on the career decision commitment for students in department of radiological science. Using the structured questionnaire we perform the self-report survey for 218 students. As a result, the degree of major satisfaction for students is found to be mid-range, and the degree of career decision commitment for ones is lowest in the first graders and the highest in the fourth graders. A notable point is that the degree of major satisfaction seems to have a significant influence on career decision commitment. Especially, it was found that major of pride is the most influential factor in career decision commitment. From this study, finally, it seems that a method to improve the career decision commitment is needed because the degree of career decision commitment of students is assessed to be fairly lowered at a level of non-commitment.

Existing simple statistics-based recommendation systems rely solely on students' course enrollment history data, making it difficult to identify classes that match students' preferences. To address this issue, this study proposes a personalized major subject recommendation system based on deep reinforcement learning (DRL). This system gauges the similarity between students based on structured data, such as the student's department, grade level, and course history. Based on this information, it recommends the most suitable major subjects by comprehensively considering information about each available major subject and evaluations of the student's courses. We confirmed that this DRL-based recommendation system provides useful insights for university students while selecting their major subjects, and our simulation results indicate that it outperforms conventional statistics-based recommendation systems by approximately 20%. In light of these results, we propose a new system that offers personalized subject recommendations by incorporating students' course evaluations. This system is expected to assist students significantly in finding major subjects that align with their preferences and academic goals.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of career maturity of college students on the pursuit of professionalism in the department of Library and Information Science. For this purpose, 128 students in their twenties were surveyed and the influence of variables was verified by multiple regression analysis and hierarchical regression analysis. As a result, it was analyzed that the career maturity of the students majoring in literature and information science had little effect on the pursuit of professionalism. However, satisfaction with the professor-student relationship had a significant effect on the recognition of students' pursuit of professionalism by enhancing career maturity. Therefore, in order to pursue professionalism in the preparation of the career path of the librarianship major, it is important that the professor's career guidance and smooth communication are important.

Although it is not necessary to have much mathematical knowledge in Major Courses of Animal Resources curriculums in agricultural high school, the function of mathematics class has a much effect on Major Courses. Therefore, we extracted the mathematics contents included in Major Courses of Animal Resources curriculums in agricultural high school, and also evaluated students' understanding according to the description method in textbooks of Major Courses. Furthermore, we analyzed students' preference about the description method in textbooks related to the Major Courses. As a result, it turns out that the level of mathematics contents of Animal Resources major curriculums does not break bounds of middle school level. Furthermore, many students are not able to solve the middle school level of problems. It is also shown that the most preferred description method in textbooks of Animal Resources major curriculums is the sentence-equation mixed type. In this study, we propose to reconstruct the mathematics contents with basic knowledge needed to complete the Major Courses in order that students can complete them more easily, and furthermore, to choose the description method in textbooks of Major Courses as sentence-equation mixed type and detailed explanation about terms should be included into the bargain.

This study intends to present a desirable vision so that students can focus on their studies and adapt to the dental hygiene major education perceived by dental hygiene students in un-contact lecturess situations by preparing measures to increase student satisfaction with the dental hygiene department. Data collection was conducted using a self-reported questionnaire from students in the dental hygiene department at universities in Seoul, Chungcheong, and Gangwon from June 20 to August 19, 2021. Variables according to the general characteristics of the subjects were analyzed using t-test and one-way ANOVA, and the post hoc test was verified by Tukey. The correlation between variables was Pearson's correlation, and the factors affecting dental hygiene and students' major satisfaction were multiple regression. The self-directed learning ability of dental hygiene students was 3.57 points, learning immersion was 3.02 points, and major satisfaction was 3.54 points. Dental hygiene students were found to have higher major satisfaction with higher grades, higher college life satisfaction, and higher learning immersion and self-directed learning ability. Therefore, it was found that systematic program development and application is necessary to improve major satisfaction in difficult circumstances due to COVID-19.

The programming language is a core education area of software that is becoming increasingly important in the age of the fourth industrial revolution, but it requires mathematical knowledge and logical thinking skills, so that many local private university and college students with low basic skills are having difficulties learning it. This problem occasionally causes SW-major students to lose interest and confidence in their majors during the introductory course of programming languages; making them change their majors, or give up their studies. In this study, we designed an instructional model using Scratch for educating C-language which is a typical programming introductory language. To do this, we analyzed the concepts that can be trained by Scratch among the programming concepts supported by C-language, and developed the examples of Scratch for exercising the concepts. In addition, we designed an instructional model, by which the programming concepts are first learned through Scratch and then C-language is taught, and conducted an experiment on the SW-major freshman students of a local private university to verify the effectiveness of the model. In the situation where SW education is becoming common, we expect that this study will help programming language education of security IT students.

This study examines university students' awareness and preparedness for anticipated social problems of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and deteremines if there exist differences between gender, major fields of study and school years of students. Based on surveys with 122 university students in Seoul, students majoring in technology-engineering showed more positive outlook than students majoring in humanity-social science. Female students and humanity-social science students showed higher levels of concerns with social problems than male and technology-engineering students. More than three out of five students anticipated that they will experience the influence of the Fourth Industrial Revolution within the next five years. Two out of five students assessed their preparedness to be inadequate. Given the overarching social influence, it is necessary to develop convergent education of technology and social science that raises students' understanding and preparedness without differences in major fields of study and gender for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between major satisfaction, depression, self esteem and life stress among college dental hygiene students. This study targeted 227 dental hygiene student in one school. Data were analyzed using descriptive analyses, t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and Hierarchical multiple regression with the SPSS WIN 21. program. The results of this study were as follows: The average score of major satisfaction was 3.65±.59, the score of depression was 1.74±.43, the score of self esteem was 3.59±.70, the score of life stress was 1.50±.33. Life stress was negatively related to major satisfaction and self esteem, and positively related to depression. The factors influencing the life stress of dental hygiene students were grade, economic status, major satisfaction, depression. Overall, to decrease life stress among dental hygiene student, it is necessary to develop educational method and program that can prevent and mitigate depression and can increase major satisfaction.
