Design of ISM-band Folded Dipole Active Integrated Antenna (ISM 대역용 접힌 다이폴 능동 집적 안테나의 설계)

  • This paper examines the design, implementation characteristics of a folded dipole active integrated antenna. Our goal was to minimize the physical size of RF circuit and its insertion loss, and to make the high frequency tuning easier by directly integrating the ISM(Industrial Scientific & Medical) band power amplifier and antenna. Non-linear model has been used for highly accurate simulation of the power amplifier. The maximum power level was found by using the Load pull method before an impedance matching was achieved. It is found that the total power-added efficiency(PAE) including the driving amplifier was 31.5% and that the transmit power was 13.7 dBm. We also found that the proposed scheme with the smaller antenna as compared with the existing dipole antenna has 23.7 dB total gain including the antenna gain. The suppression of the second harmonic signal to the fundamental signal with respect to the fundamental signal was found to be more than 30 dBc.

  • The antenna miniaturization technique involves the increment of the electrical length of the resonator the variation of the physical appearance of the antenna. The most typical method of size reduction is designing helical antenna, meander antenna, and fractal antenna. Size reduction using fractal antenna is proposed in this paper. Fractal koch curve has been etched in microstrip patch antenna to downsize the antenna at ISM (Industrial Scientific and Medical) frequency band of 2.45 GHz koch curve microstrip patch antenna ha FR4 epoxy substrate with dielectric constant 4.7, loss tangent equal to 0.02 and dielectric high of 1.6 mm. The designed antenna is fabricated using etching process. The fabricated antenna has return loss of 2.45 GHz, VSWR of 1.1492, and impedance is matched to $46{\Omega}$.

  • In this paper, we realized a transceiver system for short distance communication with a commercial RF module working in ISM band. Also we measured system performance by transmitting baseband data in a building and then we compared the demodulated data bits with stored data bits in a PC connected with demodulator. The RF module In the experiments works only in the bandwidth of 424MHz-429MHz. The signal level degrades as the distance between transmitter and receiver increases. We measured the signal level and bit error and present the measured results with various locations in the building. And it is concluded that the measured data may be used in the design of short distance network in a building.

  • 본 논문에서는 WRC-12 의제 8.1.1과 관련하여 ISM 기기로부터 전파통신 서비스의 영향을 파악할 목적으로 CISPR 통계적인 전파혼신 모형과 CISPR 11의 방사 기준치를 수신전력 관점에서 분석하였고, 산업공단에 설치된 열처리용 ISM 기기와 병원의 MRI로부터 복사되는 전파세기의 필드 측정치를 제시하였다. 본 논문의 분석결과에 따르면, 2.3GHz 주파수 대역에 적용되는 CISPR 11의 방사 첨두치 $110dB{\mu}V/m@3m$와 가중치 $60dB{\mu}V/m@3m$는 와이브로 보호를 위하여 재검토할 필요가 있다.

  • The major drawback of the classical microstrip patch antennas Is their narrow band characteristic from 1% to 5%. In this paper, to improve this drawback, we designed the antenna with stacked structure having one drive patch connected with feed line and four identical radiation patches. Resonance is achieved by adjust ing coupling area between one drive patch and four identical radiation patches and changing the size of drive patch or radial ion patches. Used substrate is FR4(${\epsilon}_r$=4.6 and t=1.6mm) and designed center frequency is 2.45GHz. The designed antenna has a wide bandwidth of 380Mhz form 2.333GHz to 2.713GHz(about 15.5%) including ISM band from 2.4GHz to 2.4835GHz.

  • This paper analyzed interference impact between wireless headset and Wireless Fidelity which get a high possibility of simultaneously operating in the Industry Science Medical(ISM) bands. Analysis methods of Minimum Coupling Loss(MCL) and Monte Carlo(MC) were applied by using the characters and parameters referenced to Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers(IEEE) 802.11b. The protection distance between interferer (WiFi transmitter) and victim (Wireless headset receiver) was calculated through the MCL. The protection distance was obtained for the case of single interferer, and the maximum allowable number of multiple interferers was computed according to the cell radius of a victim system to meet 5 % below of interference probability by using a statistical analysis based on the MC method. The analysis results are expected to be used as a guideline to coexist the wireless headset and low power devices in the ISM band.

A Multi-Band Antenna on Automobile-Glass Using Flexible PCB (유연성 기판을 이용한 자동차 유리 부착용 다중 대역 안테나)

  • In this paper, we propose a multi-band monopole antenna with a band-notching U-slot, which is fabricated inside the flexible polymide film substrate. The U-shaped slot located on the patch-shaped monopole antenna provides band-notch at 2.7 GHz, but also helps to improve return loss at adjacent frequency bands. The performance of the antenna attached on an automobile-glass has been simulated and measured. The fabricated antenna provides more than 10 dB return loss for ISM band(2.4~2.483 GHz) and WAVE band(5.85~5.925 GHz), 2.8~5.7 dBi maximum gain, and good radiation patterns.

Analysis TVWS Propagation Environment for Indoor M2M Service (실내 M2M 서비스를 위한 TVWS 전파 환경 분석)

  • In this paper, the propagation characteristics for ISM(Industrial Scientific and Medical) and TVWS(TV White Space) in indoor building environment are analyzed in comparison with theoretical and experimental results, the excellent propagation characteristics of the TVWS is confirmed. To this end, signals which have center frequencies of 503 MHz and 2.4 GHz are generated in building propagation environment. Through that, received power strength is measured according to the location and measured path loss is analyzed. Theoretical path loss is calculated using Hata, Extended Hata, Extended Hata SRD, ITU-R P.1238 and reliability for channel model in indoor environment is analyzed.

  • Combline 구조를 가진 마이크로 스트립 라인 또는 스트립 라인 필터를 내장한 기능형 PCB를 제작하였다. 저 비용 구현 및 이동성과 휴대성을 강조하기 위해 기존의 세라믹 대신 FR4와 에폭시를 유전체로 사용하는 저가형 다층 회로 기판의 도체 층에 집적화 하였다. Combline의 각 끝단에 커패시터를 부하함으로써 전기적 길이를 확장하였고 전체적인 크기를 감소시킴으로서 적당한 필터 특성을 얻을 수 있었다. 구현된 Embedded PCB는 마이크로파 대역에서 사용 가능하며 특히 Bluetooth 나 Wireless LAN과 같은 ISM 대역을 사용하는 무선통신소자로서 사용 가능하다.
