The aim of this study is to provide basic data for college life adaptation support measures at the college level by identifying college life adaptation status, the relevance of university life adaptation and the core competencies. In order to ahieve this aim there are three objectives. This study is a research study to understand the relationship between college life adaptation and core competencies of college students before and after the coronavirus. The subject of this study was 171 university students from Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Honam. Data was collected through an untact questionnaire, and data analysis was performed using the SPSSWIN 25.0 program for mean, descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, T-test, correlation, and regression analysis. As a result, first, the difficulty of "emotional adaptation" before the coronavirus was high, and the difficulty of "academic adaptation" was high after the coronavirus. Second, the core competencies of college students were highest in the order of 'interpersonal relationship competency', 'problem solving competency', and 'information communication competency'. Third, as a result of analysis of the relationship between core competency factors and adaptation to university life, difficulties in social adaptation were found both before and after the coronavirus. After the corona, difficulties in adapting to school and learning new skills appeared. In conclusion, in order for university students to adapt to university life in the post-corona era, university-level support is needed to reinforce interpersonal relations competencies in unrect situations, reinforce information and communication competencies to promote academic adaptation, and reinforce new skills acquisition competencies.
The purpose of this research is to investigate ways to improve science teacher education in order to subsequently develop students' key competencies. Since the OECD redefined key competencies as 'what people should know and be able to do in order to lead a successful life in a well-functioning society, many countries have emphasized competency-based curriculum. In this research, we collected and analyzed foreign and domestic classroom cases that have implemented competency-based curriculum in science teaching. Through open-ended interviews with the teachers and principals we explored ways to improve science teacher education to develop students' key competencies. According to the results, the competency-based curriculum necessitates a shift in teachers' roles including teachers as role models for their students, multifaceted roles of teachers, and teachers as researchers. In light of the teacher's community, teachers need to form a professional learning community, increase practice-based professional development opportunities, build the teacher's knowledge base, put various experts into the classroom, and build a partnership with the local community and other experts. In the conclusion section, we also discussed institutional and political supports necessary for the competency based education.

This study is intended to look into the effects of project leader's core competencies(intellectual ability, management ability, emotional ability) on the Critical success factors(job satisfaction, organizational commitment, group cohesion) of project by environmental variables of organization. The results of this study were summarized as follows. First, the intellectual ability, management ability and emotional ability had a significant effect on the job satisfaction, organizational commitment and group cohesion. Second, the functional organization and project organization had a partial effect on project leader's core competencies. But the individual-centered organization had no moderating effect. For the project organization, all intellectual ability, management ability and emotional ability had a moderating effect on the organizational commitment. Consequently, project leader's core competencies are mechanisms to improve the job satisfaction, organizational commitment and group cohesion, and they have a different moderating effect according to the type of organization.

The purpose of this study was to identify the factor Disaster Nursing Core Competencies in nursing college students. A descriptive correlation study design was used. The subjects were 144 university students of a university located in D and K city. The study used a Educational Needs on Disaster Nursing, Disaster Nursing Knowledge, Disaster Preparedness, Self-efficacy and Disaster Nursing Core Competencies. Data were collected from February 25 to March 15, 2019 and analyzed with t-test, pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple response analysis, stepwise multiple regression by using SPSS IBM 22.0 Program. The findings are follows: First, among the disaster nursing education methods, simulation based practice were the highest. Second, Disaster Nursing Core Competencies was positively correlated with Disaster Preparedness, self-efficacy and Disaster Knowledge. Third, the influencing factors in Disaster Nursing Core Competencies were Grade(β=0.343), Self-efficacy(β=0.329), Disaster Preparedness(β=0.282), Experience of practice in ER(β=0.159), adjusted R2=.532. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an Customized Disaster Program that can improve the Disaster Nursing Core Competencies of nursing college students based on the factors affecting the Disaster Nursing Core Competencies and Educational needs.

The Korean construction industry has led the miraculous economic boost of Korea by providing solid domestic infrastructures such as highway, roads, and airports. It also played a critical role in global construction market and eaned more than 500 billions dollars in terms of their accumulated international orders. However, domestic construction market has significantly decreased in recent years due to the domestic political environments and global economic crisis. Therefore, the importance of international construction market cannot be more emphasized to the Korean construction market in order for the sustainable growth. There has been, however, little research in the area of identifying required competency elements for the Korean construction industry to stay successful in the global market. The main purpose of this study is to identify elements of core competency to increase global competitiveness for Korean construction industry. Core global construction competency elements were derived from the internal and external environmental analyses along with the extensive literature review, expert interviews and a survey. This study utilized the Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) and a gap analysis in providing insights on the status competitiveness of the Korean construction industry in terms of required global core competency elements. The analysis shows that project management and financial management are the main areas for improvements required to engineering contractors while construction contractors need to take a more balanced approach among technical, project management, and financial management in order to increase their global competencies.
The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of Interdisciplinary course for improving the competency of collegiate Interpersonal & Cooperative Skills, Resources-Information-Technology Processing & Application and Communication. The course proved to be effective based on the result for examination of difference between the experimental group of 43 students who took the interdisciplinary course and the control group of 44 students who did not take that course of the second semester of H university in 2015. The study applied the method of Paired-sample T-Test to investigate the difference of Interpersonal & Cooperative Skills, Resources-Information-Technology Processing & Application and Communication and their sub-skills between the two participant groups. As a result, Interdisciplinary course had an effect on improvement of Interpersonal & Cooperative Skills and it's sub skills; however, it had no effect on improvement of Resources-Information-Technology Processing & Application and Communication competency and their sub-skills. The results provide theoretical and practical implications for the interdisciplinary course and core competence of college students. They suggest that interdisciplinary course design should be more careful to improve students' competency on Resources-Information-Technology Processing & Application and Communication competency than before.
As the role of entrepreneurship has become more important for continuous business growth in a rapidly changing economic environment, numerous studies dealing with entrepreneurship are taking place. However, recent studies has concentrated mainly on business-oriented entrepreneurship which emphasizes corporate efficiency only. While in the era of fourth industrial revolution human resources are more important than corporate efficiency, the existing literature is largely focused on traditional entrepreneurship. Research on humane entrepreneurship has not been rigorous, and there are few studies involving small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) in particular. The purpose of this study is to fill in this void by investigating the effect of humane entrepreneurship on core competencies of SMEs and the effect of these core competencies on corporate performance. To examine SMEs core competencies and their performance from the perspective of humane entrepreneurship, this study set up traditional entrepreneurship and humane entrepreneurship as variables, and develop research model based on these variables. This study tests 5 different hypothesis using this model. A survey was conducted among CEOs and executives at SMEs in Seoul and Gyeonggido, South Korea from, June 26 to August 1, 2018. A total of 310 questionnaires were analyzed. The results show that both traditional and human entrepreneurship have a positive effect on the core competencies of SMEs, which are core competency factors, and that core competencies positively affect both non-financial performance and financial performance. Moreover, non-financial performance is found to have positive effect on financial performance. Given these findings, this study suggests that humane entrepreneurship is critical to SMEs and their performance, no less than traditional entrepreneurship. This study provides profound implications of necessity of raising humane entrepreneurship in environment of companies.
One of the keyword in every nation's recent educational policy is key competencies. Considering national competitiveness originating from educational competitiveness, educational policy has been driven to identify key competencies and realize them through school education. Within this context some countries have developed competencies-based curriculum and discussed ways to relate key competencies and subject matter areas. However, there have been few researches on how to reflect or integrate key competencies into subject matter areas. Because of this reason, the ways to incorporate and integrate key competencies into three subject areas including mathematics were investigated. The recent trends of curriculum, teaching and learning, and assessment of domestic and foreign cases were explored by the subject of one Korean international middle school, one British foreign school in Seoul, one French foreign school in Seoul, and four middle schools in New Zealand. To establish competencies-based school education, there should be intimate connection system among curriculum, teaching and learning, assessment, and teacher education. Through analysis of domestic and foreign cases, some conclusions regarding how these aspects have changed with the emphasis of key competencies were drawn. In this paper, through classroom observation and teacher interview, a case of the competencies-based mathematics lessons of one French foreign school was investigated. As a result, summaries and recommendations related to ways to improve subject teaching and teacher education in light of key competencies were presented. In these recommendations, the ways to reconstruct subject-based curriculum, the content-specific teaching and learning, and educational assessment were included.
This study analyzes the impact of core competencies of technology innovation startups-namely technological development capability, organizational management capability, and digital transformation capability-on financial performance through the mediation of innovativeness. Previous research has focused on the non-financial performance of startups, with a lack of studies examining financial performance, which is a crucial indicator of actual business success. Therefore, an online survey was conducted targeting domestic technology innovation startups, and data from 213 responses were used for the final analysis. The results of the structural equation modeling indicated that technological development capability, organizational management capability, and digital transformation capability positively influence innovativeness. Additionally, higher levels of innovativeness were associated with improved financial performance, and innovativeness was found to play a significant mediating role between core competencies and financial performance. These findings suggest which competencies technology innovation startups should focus on to achieve financial goals.

Mokpo National Maritime University's Maritime College operates education and training programs that allow students to adapt to the specifics of ships and the oceans. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of student satisfaction on core competencies and self-directed competency through the operation of socially customized education programs. We surveyed the leaders in industry-university cooperation+ education programs, and selected TALK+, an education program capable of statistical analysis, as the focus of our analysis. The TALK+ program connects people in charge of communication with those in charge of reflecting the peculiarities of maritime universities. Data were collected using satisfaction surveys that returned 259 results. These were analyzed using a 5-point Likert scale that showed a high level of satisfaction with an average of 4 points or more. The satisfaction level showed that there is positive correlation between satisfaction levels and core competency and self-directed competency. In addition, a linear regression analysis was performed, and the results showed that satisfaction has a statistically significant effect on the improvement of core competencies and self-directed competencies (p<0.001). Through this study, it was confirmed that efforts to improve the satisfaction level and develop various comparisons method and programs are necessary.
