As a simple and practicable method, an Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA) is often used as a tool to study the satisfaction of tourists in Tourism. The IPA has two dimensions to attribute importance and performance(or satisfaction as in satisfaction research), and generally uses an interviewee self-reported approach to acquire performance and importance data. Many scholars have pointed out that the traditional IPA cannot meet the premise of its establishment. Therefore, several revised IPA have been proposed. Among them, Deng's IPA is the most representative. There are not many contrastive analyses between the traditional IPA and revised IPA in academia. The lack of comparative study will make it difficult to judge the difference and effectiveness of different IPA techniques. Taking Gyeongju Yangdong Village as an example, this study investigated and researched the degree of satisfaction of Chinese tourists using the traditional IPA method and Deng's modified IPA method respectively, and then analysed the differences between the two methods and their causes. Based on the analysis results, the study put forward suggestions for the improvement of tourism management in Gyeongju Yangdong Village.

The program educational objectives(PEO) are defined as the competences and qualifications that the graduates should reach in 2~3 years after graduation. As indirect assessment this paper develops and presents a set of questions to evaluate how important the established PEOs are in the fields and how much the graduates achieves them. The survey was conducted and analyzed to evaluate the degree of importance and achievement of each PEO by using IPA(Importance-Performance Analysis) scheme.

The quality of service on urban roadways have been evaluated mainly based on such quantitative measures as travel speed and delay. However, in addition to the quantitative aspects, drivers traveling on urban roadways are subject to be influenced by qualitative measures such as aesthetic aspects of the roadway and other drivers' violation of traffic laws. Based on this notion, this study attempts to identify roadway service quality indices, considering both qualitative and quantitative aspects and evaluate the quality of service using the modified Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA), a technique often applied in the field of marketing. The modified IPA is proposed in this study as a way to evaluate the service quality, reflecting the relative performance between study areas and performance indices. A case study is implemented over the Gangnam and Gangbuk areas in Seoul, resulting in identifying the items needed to be improved for each study area.

The purpose of this study is to provide a suggestion to improve speciality and job performance of social work case management using importance-performance-analysis(IPA). A quantitative research design was used and data were collected from 209 social workers who are in charge of case manager job at Ulsan metropolitan area. Study participants were asked the recognition of importance-job competence and need for supervision-experience of social work case management job description on the NCS(9 competency units, 33 competency units). Descriptive analysis and IPA were performed. This study found the need for intensified job competence of 'building external operating systems' and 'development of resource linkage systems'. Also, it is necessary to provide intensive supervision for 'building an external and internal operating system.' Based on the results, future direction of intensified job performance for socla work case management was discussed.

This research has been carried out for assessing the competitiveness of the major Asian airports based on the quality of service provision. Five airports were selected for evaluation: Hong Kong, Singapore Changi, Tokyo Narita, Bangkok Don Muang, and Seoul Incheon International Airport. For evaluation of these selected airports, AHP and IPA techniques were applied. Five main factors were defined through a literature review of previous studies: concreteness, convenience, economic efficiency, respondency, and accessability. Hong Kong International Airport had the strongest airport in the Asian region, followed by Incheon International Airport. The least competitive airports were Bangkok and Tokyo Narita International Airport in regards to users' perception for the provision of services at the airport.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the difference between job importance awareness and actual job achievement of archivists of private universities through importance-performance analysis (IPA), and to analyze the difference between certified and noncertified archivists about the above two factors. To achieve the purpose, the detailed job activities were drawn through a review of laws, regulations, and policies. The detailed list of job activities was confirmed by a few current archivists, Using the confirmed list of detailed job activities, a survey was conducted for archivists of private universities. The collected data in the survey were analyzed using the IPA method. According to the study results, the two groups of archivists have a clear understanding of their jobs; however, environmental factors influence the actual achievement of the jobs.

When a human being grew older, followed by visually and perceptually impaired, and dementia, it jeopardizes safety and life unless supportive design is secured for a living environment. This supportive space is based on universal design concept which offers safe-oriented, and simple use by incorporating gender and physical/mental limitation. The study of purppose was to examine the appropriateness of barrier-free standard for seniors' living in apartment through IPA. Chi-square analysis found that satisfaction with BF space is lowered as aging is continued and for female group. Regression analysis indicated that sink was the prime predictor in satisfaction, and stair/elevator was the most important variable. IPA concluded that sink, bath, shower/locker and alert/egress were prime BF indexes to be improved among 14 elements, implying careful design in sanitation area for seniors.

The present study applied the IPA(Importance-Performance Analysis) to derive several practical alternatives for the improvement of Chuncheon Silver Orchestra program using IPA(importance-performance analysis). Most importantly, this work performed a comparative study using sample data collected from two groups of silver member(N=53) and program operator(N=32). A careful literature review leaded to the development of six types of evaluation sectors, including 'connection with the local community', 'budget operation', 'program operation', 'manpower operation', 'public relations strategy' as well as 'environment for program operation'. This work further devised twenty-two evaluation items. The results indicated that silver member group rated 'manpower operation' the highest in their both perceived importance and performance. Program operator group rated 'budget operation' and 'manpower operation' rated the highest in their perceived importance and performance, respectively. The results form IPA matrix analysis provides an important implication that much efforts and interests should be sustainably given from the perspective of the silver member group and the program operator group coupled with four types of IPA quadrant, accordingly.

이 연구는 IPA 기법을 적용하여 민간경비원들의 여가활동 집중개선 종목을 도출하고, 나아가 여가제약이 참가지수에 미치는 영향을 규명하는데 주된 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 2010년 서울 소재 6개소 민간경비업체를 대상으로 판단표집법을 적용하여 최종분석에 사용된 사례 수는 총 267명이다. 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 민간경비원들의 여가활동 참가 지수인 선호도와 참여도는 차이가 있다. 중점개선 여가활동은 헬스, 산책/조깅, 숙박관광, 당일여행 등이다. 둘째, 민간경비원들의 여가제약은 여가활동 참가지수에 영향을 미친다. 개인내적, 주변의식적, 대인적 제약이 클수록 선호하는 여가활동에 부적 영향을 미치는 반면, 구조적, 시간 경제적 제약을 극복하고 선호하는 여가활동에 정적 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 민간경비원들의 복지적처우개선에 집중적인 투자가 이루어져야 할 것이다.
