In order to provide mobile hosts with multicast service in mobile communication environment, we proposed a multicast mechanism named HXcast++ which is an extended version of the existing Xcast++ with hierarchical architecture, We assured that mobile hosts could get multicast service through an optimal path regardless of their location by making DR(Designated Router) join a group on behalf of the mobile hosts, In this present research we introduced hierarchical architecture in order to reduce the maintenance cost resulting from frequent handoff. We also proposed a GMA (Group Management Agent) based group management mechanism which enables the mobile hosts to join the group without waiting for a new IGMP Membership Query. A fast handoff method with L2 Mobile Trigger was, in this work, employed in order to reduce the amount of the packet loss which occurs as a result of the handoff, We also managed to curtail the packet loss caused by the latency of the group join by using a buffering and forward mechanism.
With the recent rapid progress of Internet, the higher speed network is needed to support the exploration of ambient information from text-based to multimedia-based information. Also, demands for additional Layer 3 routing technique, such as Network Address Translator (NAT) and Firewall, are required to solve a limitation of a current Internet address space and to protect the interior network from the exterior network. However, current router-based algorithms do not provide mechanisms to solve the congestion and fairness problems, while supporting the multimedia services and satisfying the user requirements. In this paper, to solve these problems, a new active queue management, called MFRED (Multiple Fairness RED) algorithm, is proposed. This algorithm can efficiently reduce the congestion in a router or gateway based on the Layer 3 routing technique, such as NAT. This algorithm can improve the fairness among TCP-like flows and unresponsive flows. It also works well in fairly protecting congestion-sensitive flows, i.e. fragile TCP, from congestion-insensitive or congestion-causing flows, i.e. robust TCP.
The network-based IP mobility solution - Proxy MIPv6 provides a mobile node with local mobility support without requiring MIPv6 functionality of the mobile node by using two principle functional entities, LMA (Local Mobility Anchor) and MAG (Mobile Access Gateway) located in a Proxy MIPv6 domain. Yet, in case that a mobile node moves into a mobile network located in the domain, the mobile node can't receive the local mobility support any more because it can't communicate with the MAG. This paper proposes a scheme to support nested network mobility in a Proxy MIPv6 domain by adding MAG functionality to a mobile router in the mobile network and evaluates the performance of the proposed scheme. Performance analysis shows that the proposed scheme can increase the performance of handover delay, signaling costs, and packet loss ratio.

With the advent of high speed networking technology, computers connected to the high-speed networks tend to consume more of their CPU cycles to process data. So one of the solutions to improve the performance of the computers is to reduce the CPU cycles for processing the data. As the consumption of the CPU cycles is increased in proportion to the number of the packets per second to be processed, reducing the number of the packets per second by increasing the length of the packet is one of the solutions. In order to meet this requirement, two types of jumbo packets such as jumbograms and jumbo frames have already been standardized or being discussed. In case that the jumbograms and general packets are interleaved and scheduled together in a router, the jumbogrms may deteriorate the QoS of the general packets due to the transfer delay. They also frequently exhaust the memory with storing the huge length of the packets. This produces the congestion state easily in the router that results in the loss of the packets. In this paper, we analyze the problems in processing the jumbo packets and suggest a noble solution to overcome the problems.

Nowadays, the multihomed host equipped with multiple network interfaces has been interested research in next generation wireless network, because the mobile users expect that they can be able to access services not only anywhere, at any time and from any network but also simultaneously. This paper addresses the mobility simulation model of the multihomed node for supporting MIPv4 and MIPv6 function in an interworking of Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) and IEEE 802.11 WLAN. The multihomed node with two air interfaces has been developed based on WiMAX and WLAN workstation node model in simulation software. The main point of the developed model is to support both MIPv4 and MIPv6 function, and provide network selection policy for the multihomed node between WiMAX and WLAN network. Based on the received Router Advertisement along with the interface number, we can manage the access interfaces in ordered list to make handover decision while the multihomed node is moving. In the end of this paper, the simulation scenarios and results are shown for testing MIPv4 and MIPv6 function.
A Wi-Fi signal network (WSN) system is introduced in this paper. This system consists of several data-transmitting sensor modules and a data-receiving server. Each sensor module and the server contain a unique intranet IP address. A piezoelectric accelerometer with a bandwidth of 12 kHz, a 24-bit analog-digital converter with a sampling rate of 15.625 kS/s, a 32-bit microprocessor unit, and a 1-Mbps Wi-Fi module are used in the data-transmitting sensor module. A 300-Mbps router and a PC are used in the server. The system is verified using an accelerometer calibrator. The voltage output from the sensor is converted into 24-bit digital data and transmitted via the Wi-Fi module. These data are received by a Wi-Fi router connected to a PC. The input frequencies of the accelerometer calibrator (320 Hz, 640 Hz, and 1280 Hz) are used in the data transfer verification. The received data are compared to the data retrieved directly from the analog-to-digital converter used in the sensor module. The comparison shows that the developed system represents the original data considerably well. Theoretically, the system can acquire vibration signals from 600 sensor modules at an accelerometer bandwidth of 15.625 kHz. However, delay exists owing to software processes, multiplexing between sensor modules, and the use of non-real time operating system. Hence, it is recommended that this system may be used to acquire vibration signals with up to 10 kHz, which is approximately 70% of the theoretical maximum speed of the system. The system can be upgraded using parts with higher performance

NEMO basic support is a solution that provides network mobility in the Internet topology. Yet, when multiple mobile networks are nested, this basic solution suffers ken pinball-routing and a severe routing overhead. Therefore, several solutions for route optimization in a nested mobile network have already been suggested by the IETF NEMO WG. However, the current paper proposes Regional Information-based Route Optimization (RIRO) in which mobile routers maintain a Nested Router List (NRL) to obtain next-hop information, and packets are transmitted with a new routing header called an RIRO Routing Header (RIRO-RH). We showed that RIRO had the minimum packet overhead that remained constant, irrespective of how deep the mobile network was nested, in comparison with two earlier proposed schemes - Reverse Routing Header (RRH) and Bi-directional tunnel between HA and Top-Level mobile router (BHT).

The Fast Handover in Hierarchical Mobile IPv6(F-HMIPv6) scheme provides a seamless handover in mobile IP networks effectively. However, there is a problem that the mobile node can lose its connectivity to the previous access router because of a sudden degradation of the link quality during fast handover procedure. Additionally, in many cases, the mobile node does not have enough time to exchange messages during the fast handover procedure, especially in case of movement with high speed during handover. In this paper, we propose a modification to F-HMIPv6 that significantly reduces the time to exchange messages during fast handover procedure and thereby increases the probability which the F-HMIPv6 can perform the fast handover in predictive mode.

Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) is the network-based mobility management protocol that network supports the mobility of mobile node (MN) on behalf of the MN. In PMIPv6, a multi-homed MN can connect to the PMIPv6 domain by using only one interface even though it has multiple interfaces. It would be efficient when such a multi-homed MN connects to the PMIPv6 domain by using all of its interfaces. If such a multi-homed MN utilizes all of its interfaces, flow mobility can be provided that the MN handovers one or more flows from one interface to another without re-establishing session. In this paper, we propose the flow-based mobility management protocol by considering the intention of the user. The Router Advertisement (RA) message is used in order for the PMIPv6 domain to inform that the MN can utilize the flow mobility. The proposed mechanism is evaluated by analyzing signaling overhead and handover latency, and the numerical results show that the performance is affected by mobility speed of the MN and the failure probability of the wireless link.

In this article, we present a QoS-guaranteed IP mobility management scheme of Internet service for fast moving vehicles with multiple wireless network interfaces. The idea of the proposed mechanism consists of two things. One is that new wireless connections are established to available wireless channels whenever the measured data rate at the vehicle equipped with mobile gateway drops below to the required data rate of the user requirement. The other is that parallel distribution packet tunnels between an access router and the mobile gateway are dynamically constructed using multiple wireless network interfaces in order to guarantee the required data rate during the mobile gateway's movement. By doing these methods, the required data rate of the mobile gateway can be preserved while eliminating the possible delay and packet loss during handover operation, thus resulting in the guaranteed QoS. The architecture of the IETF standard HMIPv6 has been extended to realize the proposed scheme, and detailed algorithms for the extension of HMIPv6 has been designed. Finally, simulation has been done for performance evaluation, and the simulation results show that the proposed mechanism demonstrates guaranteed QoS during the handover with regard to the handover delay, packet loss and throughput.
