The INM simulation program is used to estimate the condition of the exposed area to the noise near a military airport in Korea. $WECPNL_k$, the evaluation unit of korean airport noise, is different from the ICAO $WECPNL_I$ that is used in the simulation program. Therefore, it is inappropriate to compare these units each other directly. This study presents method of comparison between them by using $LA_{MAX}$. The aircraft events are classified into three classes, as departure, overfly and approach. In result, the measurement and simulation seemed to be similar at departure and approach pattern. However, overfly pattern had higher errors between measurement and simulation. Finally, it is necessary to examine the method to determine flight events and duration for the $WECPNL_k$ application.

Since the reports of CMR(colossal magnetoresistance) effects in some single crystal R-P phase $La_{1+x}Sr_{2-x}Mn_2O_7$, considerable researches have been carried out to find optimum composition and to understand the role of dimensionality in the CMR mechanism of this system. In this study, layered perovskite $Ln_xCa_{1-x}MnO_{4}$ (x=0.5, Ln=Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd) phases were synthesized by solid state reaction and their structures were refined by Rietveld method. Electrical and magnetic properties were measured between room temperature and liquid helium temperature and compared with those of two dimensional $La_{1.4}Sr_{1.6}Mn_2O_7$ phase.

Le propos de la presente consideration est de deceler Ie probleme du costume au niveau de probleme de l'art pur qui, comme dit Hegel, repond a un besoin primitif qui consiste a exterioriser et a concretiser les representations et les idees nees dans I'esprit humain. II va de soi que c'est une sorte de problemes appartenants a la theorie generale du costume. Mais il nous semble que chez nous on a neglige d'analyser les elements du costume sous l'angle de cette exteriorisation de l'idee esthetique que nous avons essay de souligner. Nous avons pris cette fois, pour un modele de ce sujet, les costumes sous Justinien (527-565) de l'Empire byzantin.

Langasite(La3Ga5SiO14) is a new piezoelectric material which is similar to quartz, LN(LiNbO3) and LT(LiTaO3) in its acoustic behavior. In this study, pure Langasite and Langasite family groups were synthesized by the solid state reactions in air. For the synthesis process, diffusion species were investigated and sintered body of synthesized powders were studied on dielectric property according to surface microstructures.

Adaptive responses to diverse microbial pathogens might be limited in relatively few types. Host cell responses to pathogens are believed to be patterned or stereotyped along with species or class. We tried to compose the host response to Mycoplasma in terms of cellular gene expression. Although gene expression profile of two host HeLa and 293 cells were quite different each other, 30 genes were differentially expressed by mycoplasma infection in both of HeLa and 293 cells. Six of them (PR48, MADH4, MKPX, CRK, RBM7, NEK3) were related to cell cycle or proliferation. Another category of genes like IL1 HY1, KLRF1, TNFSF14, GBP1 were host defense to elicit immune responses. With this set of genes, we establish the prediction model for mycoplasma contamination.

The aim of the study was analyzed effect of the interaction with contents (IC), learning satisfaction (LS) and learning achievement (LA) through evaluation of the self-directed learning ability (SDLA) and immersion in learning (IL) for online learning application in the radiation therapy. A total of fifty university students who completed the radiation therapy course were be surveyed. There was significant positive correlation with the IC and the intention to continue using (ICU) in SDLA, and IC, LS, LA, and ICU in LC. The online learning application could be increase the satisfaction and achievement of radiation therapy learning.

The present investigation has been performed to elucidate the effect of pretreatment with low dose of ultraviolet radiation (UV), ethyl methansulfonate (EMS), and bleomycin (BLM) on cell survival and lectin-binding glycoconjugates of plasma membrane in HeLa cells treated with mutagen. The percentage of survival of cells pretreated with 1 mM EMS following treatment with 10 mM EMS was higher than that of cells treated with 10 mM EMS alone. Wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) staining intensity of cells pretreated with 1 mM EMS and subsequently treated with 10 mM EMS was stronger than that of cells treated with 10 mM EMS alone. But, succinylated wheat germ agglutinin (sWGA) staining intensity of cells pretreated with 1 mM EMS and subsequently treated with 10 mM EMS was similar to that of cells treated with 10 mM EMS alone. These results suggest that the acquired resistance to EMS is related to the glycoconjugates containing sialic acid of plasma membrane involved in multidrug resistance or adaptive response in HeLa cells.

This study was carried out to select the lactic acid bacteria producing ${\beta}-galactosidase$ (lactase) and investigate the properties of the ${\beta}-galactosidase$. About 100 strains of lactic acid bacteria showing blue colony on the MRS agar medium containing X-gal were isolated from several kinds of Kimchi. Among them, 2 strains were selected as potential ${\beta}-galactosidase$ producers. The selected strains, ET-1 and LA-12, were identified as Lactobacillus fermentum and L. acidophilus, respectively by the analysis of 16S rDNA sequences. They showed relatively high ${\beta}-galactosidase$ activity and cellular viability. Their ${\beta}-galactosidase$ showed the highest activity at $55^{\circ}C$. And the optimum pHs of the enzymes produced by ET-1 and LA-12 were pH 5.5 and pH 7.0, respectively. They were also highly resistant to artificial gastric juice and bile. Two selected strains showed little change of viable cell number for 3 hr incubation in artificial gastric juice, and maintained the viable cell number at $10^8CFU/ml$ for 24 hr in 0.3% oxgall after incubation for 2 hours in artificial gastric juice. Based on these results, ET-1 and LA-12 are expected to be applied in dairy industry.

This paper studies relationship between typhoon and El Ni$\tilde{n}$o La Ni$\tilde{n}$a events by using 25 years meteorological data of KMA and JMA. The results are listed below. Annual mean number of typhoon's occurrence in El Ni$\tilde{n}$o event year is 23.9, and that in La Ni$\tilde{n}$a event year is 24.9. The number of typhoon's occurrence decreases in El Ni$\tilde{n}$o event year. Mean central minimum pressure and mean maximum wind speed in El Ni$\tilde{n}$o event year are 959.3hPa and 35.8m/s, and those in La Ni$\tilde{n}$a event year are 965.5hPa and 33.7m/s respectively. Intension of typhoon is stronger in El Ni$\tilde{n}$o event year than La Ni$\tilde{n}$a event year. To be more specific mean central minimum pressure is lower 6.2hPa and mean maximum wind speed is stronger 2.1m/s. This result is closely connected with sea area of typhoon's occurrence. Typhoons in El Ni$\tilde{n}$o event year are more likely to occur in east of 150E and south of 10N, but those in La Ni$\tilde{n}$a event year are more likely to occur in 120-150E and north of 20N. Typhoons which occur in east of 150E and south of 10N can be stronger because the typhoons move in broad sea area of high sea surface temperature in western North Pacific.

We Previously reported that Polysaccharide Isolated from panax ginseng C. A. Meyer, stimulates murine splenocytes to proliferate and to be cytotoxic against a wide range of tumor cells in MHC non-restricted manner:) Therefore, we examined the cytokine mRNA expression induced by the ginseng polysaccharide in this paper. This study demonstrates that the ginseng polysaccharide stimulates Thl type cytosine expression such as IL-2 and IFNY, and macrophage type cytokine expression such as IL-lc and GM-CSF in a dose-dependent manner at different time: IL-2 mRNA was induced at 30 min, IL-la, GM-CSF mRNA at 3 hr, IFNY at 6 hr after the ginseng polysaccharide treatment. In contrast with these, Th2 type cytokine expression such as IL-4 and IL-5 was not induced. The generation of the ginseng polysaccharide-activated killer cells which was induced at the optimal doses of 50 pEyml was neutralized in the presence of anti-lL-2, anti-lFNy, anti-IL-l ${\alpha}$ antibodies, showing the importance of these cytokines produced by the ginseng polysaccharide. In flow cytometry analysis, the blastogenesis of IgM+ cells was induced on day 3 and the number of Thy 1.21 cells, CD4+ and CD8+ cells was increased on day 5. The ginseng polysaccharide also induced blastogenesis of T cells. In conclusion, the ginseng polysaccharide may have considerable antitumor immunotherapeutic modality by stimulating the cytokine production from Thl cells and macrophage and by proliferating lymphocytes.
