6LoWPAN (IPv6 Low-power Wireless Personal Area Network) is IPv6 packets transmission technology at Sensor network over the IEEE 802.15.4 Standard MAC and Physical layer. Adaptation layer between IP layer and MAC layer performs fragmentation and reassembly of packet for transmit IPv6 packets. RFC4944, IETF 6LoWPAN WG standard document define packet fragmentation and reassembly. In this paper, we propose the 6PASim (6LoWPAN Packet Simulator) to perform IPv6 packet fragmentation and reassembly for performance evaluation. The 6PASim consist of two parts. One is Packet_Transmit_module that makes IEEE 802.15.4 frames the IPv6 packet from upper layer, and transmit its. and the another is Packet_Receive_module that reassembles transferred frames and completes original IPv6 packets. we can evaluate frame transmit rate and amount of control message through 6PASim. The result of simulation shows the SRM (Selective Retransmission Method) scheme provider better performance than IRM (Immediate Retransmission Method) scheme.

This paper describes a multi-standard LDPC decoder which supports 19 block lengths(576~2304) and 6 code rates(1/2, 2/3A, 2/3B, 3/4A, 3/4B, 5/6) of IEEE 802.16e mobile WiMAX standard and 3 block lengths(648, 1296, 1944) and 4 code rates(1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 5/6) of IEEE 802.11n WLAN standard. To minimize hardware complexity, it adopts a block-serial (partially parallel) architecture based on the layered decoding scheme. A DFU(decoding function unit) based on sign-magnitude arithmetic is used for hardware reduction. The designed LDPC decoder is verified by FPGA implementation, and synthesized with a 0.13-${\mu}m$ CMOS cell library. It has 312,000 gates and 70,000 bits RAM. The estimated throughput is about 79~210 Mbps at 100 MHz@1.8v.

6LoWPAN based on IEEE 802.15.4 is a realistic standard platform for various Internet of Things (IoT) applications. To bootstrap the LoWPAN (Low-power Wireless Personal Area Network), each device must perform 6LoWPAN-ND address registration to assign a unique IPv6 address. Without adequate security mechanisms, 6LoWPAN-ND is vulnerable to a variety of security attacks including corrupted node attacks. Several security mechanisms have been proposed as a supplement to the vulnerability, but the vulnerability exists because it relies solely on IEEE 802.15.4 hop-by-hop security. In this paper, we propose and analyze a vulnerability of 6LoWPAN-ND address registration and a new security mechanism suitable for preventing the attack of damaged node. It also shows that the proposed security mechanism is compatible with the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standard and is more efficient than the mechanism proposed in the IETF 6 lo WG.
Since multimedia data takes large part of realtime transmission in wireless communication environments such as IEEE 802.11, QoS issues became one of the important problems with network performance. 802.11e MAC provides differentiated services based on priority schemes to solve existing 802.11 MAC problems. The TXOP is an important factor with the priority to improve network performance and QoS because it defines the time duration in which multiple frames can be transferred at one time for each station. In this paper, therefore frame sizes, TXOP Limit, and Priority values in accordance with the number of stations are experimented and derived for best network performance and QoS. Using 802.11e standard parameters, simulation results show the best throughput when the number of stations is 5 and TXOP Limit value is 6.016ms. For fairness, the best result is achieved at 3.008ms of TXOP Limit value and 15-31 of CW(Contention Window) that is lower priority than CW 7-15.
The advent of wireless access in vehicular environments (WAVE) technology has improved the intelligence of transportation systems and enabled generic traffic problems to be solved automatically. Based on the IEEE 802.11p standard for vehicle-to-anything (V2X) communications, WAVE provides wireless links with latencies less than 100 ms to vehicles operating at speeds up to 200 km/h. To date, most research has been based on field test results. In contrast, this paper presents a numerical analysis of the V2X broadcast throughput limit using a path loss model. First, the maximum throughput and minimum delay limit were obtained from the MAC frame format of IEEE 802.11p. Second, the packet error probability was derived for additive white Gaussian noise and fading channel conditions. Finally, the maximum throughput limit of the system was derived from the packet error rate using a two-ray path loss model for a typical highway topology. The throughput was analyzed for each data rate, which allowed the performance at the different data rates to be compared. The analysis method can be easily applied to different topologies by substituting an appropriate target path loss model.
There have been increases in the elderly population worldwide, and this has been accompanied by rapid growth in the health-care market, as there is an ongoing need to monitor the health of individuals. Wireless body area networks (WBANs) consist of wireless sensors attached on or inside the human body to monitor vital health-related problems, e.g., electrocardiograms (ECGs), electroencephalograms (EEGs), and electronystagmograms (ENGs). With WBANs, patients' vital signs are recorded by each sensor and sent to a coordinator. However, because of obstructions by the human body, sensors cannot always send the data to the coordinator, requiring them to transmit at higher power. Therefore, we need to consider the lifetime of the sensors given their required transmit power. In the IEEE 802.15.6 standard, the transmission topology functions as a one-hop star plus one topology. In order to obtain a high throughput, we reduce the transmit power of the sensors and maintain equity for all sensors. We propose the multiple-hop transmission for WBANs based on the IEEE 802.15.6 carrier-sense multiple-access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) protocol. We calculate the throughput and variance of the transmit power by performing simulations, and we discuss the results obtained using the proposed theorems.

CMOS LC VCO with fast response adaptive frequency calibration (AFC) technique for IEEE 802.11a/b/g WLANs is designed in 1.8V $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process. The possible operation is verified for 5.8GHz band, 5.2GHz band, and 2.4GHz band using the switchable L-C resonators. To linearize its frequency-voltage gain (Kvco), optimized multiple MOS varactor biasing tecknique is used. In order to operate in each band frequency range with reduced VCO gain, 4-bit digitally controlled switched- capacitor bank is used and a wide-range digital logic quadricorrelator (WDLQ) is implemented for fast frequency detector.
In wireless personal area networks (WPANs), the successful design of channel time allocation algorithm is a key factor in guaranteeing the various quality of service (QoS) requirements for the stringent real-time constraints of multimedia services. In this paper we propose a channel time allocation algorithm for achieving a high quality transmission and high channel error tolerance of MPEG stream in the IEEE 802.15.3 high-rate wireless PANs. Our algorithm exploits the characteristics of MPEG stream. When a new MPEG stream arrives, a DEV models it by the traffic envelope and delivers the traffic envelope to the piconet coordinator (PNC) along with the channel time request. The PNC performs channel time allocation according to the envelope. Performance of the proposed scheme is investigated by simulation and analysis. Our results show that compared to conventional scheme, the proposed scheme is very effective and provides a good performance under typical channel error conditions.

In this paper, applications that require low-speed data rate on personal area network to operate the Land Warrior system is proposed. These applications can refer to WSN(wireless sensor network) technology. However, this technology is not suitable to support various data transmission rate. A suitable CSMA/CA algorithm for Land Warrior System in order to solve these existing system problems is proposed. The proposed algorithm is designed to be variable CSMA/CA algorithm parameter, depending on data rate. For the evaluation of Land Warrior system model and CSMA/CA algorithm, we used Castalia. As a result of the simulation, it is found that the proposed system model can not only relieve loads of data processing, but also probability of collision was decreased.

In this paper, we proposed WBAN system model to management an application that requires low rate data transfer in IEEE 802.15.4. We have to use different wireless sensor network technology to transfer different date rate and emergency message in medical application service. A suitable system model for WBAN and a WBAN MAC protocol in order to solve these existing system problems are proposed. Firstly, the priority queuing was applied to contention access period, and the system model which could guarantee transmission of a MAC command frame was proposed. Secondly, the MAC frame was newly defined to use the system model which was proposed above. Thirdly, WBAN CSMA/CA back-off algorithm based on data transmission rate was proposed to enhance data throughput and transmission probability of the data frame which does not have priority in the proposed WBAN system. The proposed algorithm is designed to be variable CSMA/CA algorithm parameter, depending on data rate. For the evaluation of WBAN CSMA/CA algorithm, we used Castalia. As a result of the simulation, it is found that the proposed system model can not only relieve loads of data processing, but also probability of collision was decreased.
