Traffic Generation Method of Sampled Values for Smart Grid (스마트 그리드를 위한 샘플 값들의 트래픽 발생 방안)

  • This study presents a method for generating IEC 61850 Sampled Values(SV) traffic by combining the emulation function of network simulator ns-3 with the actual communication equipment. For the SV traffic generation and reception, the emulation function of the network simulator ns-3 is used, while as a communication network, the actual communication equipment, switches are used. In addition, the SV traffic frames generated are analyzed, using Wireshark, and it is confirmed that the SV traffic frames are generated accurately. The method for the SV traffic generation proposed in the present study will be very useful when various SV traffics are generated under the environment of an actual substation.

  • 전력 시장의 자율 경쟁체제가 본격화되면서 기존 공급자 중심의 시장은 급격하게 사용자 중심의 시장으로 재편되어 가고 있다. 기존의 최소한의 '데이터'라는 개념은 최대한의 '정보'라는 개념으로 변화되었다. 정보의 신속하고 효율적인 관리는 변전소 자동화 시스템의 핵심 전략이자 이를 기반으로 한 전력 시스템의 IT화를 가속화시키는 원동력이 되었다. 외국의 경우 1990년대 초에 등장한 UCA2(Utility Communication Architecture)를 기반으로 한 IEC 61850(Communication Networks and systems in substation)이라는 새로운 통신 아키텍처의 도입을 서두르고 있다. IEC 61850은 IEC에서 추진중인 표준화작업의 일환으로 기존의 포인트와 태그(address) 중심의 전력 SCADA 시스템과는 달리 디바이스 및 관련 정보를 데이터 클래스 모델링을 통해 객체화하고 이 표준 객체를 통해 공통의 언어로 통신을 하는 방식으로 wire 중심이 아닌 bus 중심의 통신 방식(Ethernet)을 채용하여 대용량 정보의 실시간 전송 및 이기종간 통신이 가능한 장점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 IEC 61850을 중심으로 변전소 자동화 시스템 및 전력 시스템의 IT화와 관련된 표준 통신 프로토콜들을 소개하고 전력시스템과 변전소 환경이라는 특수 상황을 고려하여 새롭게 등장한 아키텍처의 특징을 살펴본다.

  • To be integrated into the IEC 61970-based K-Grid, application of open communication protocol and sub-system modeling to major nodes is needed. In this paper, a module which links load nodes in customers to CIM based on psXML/oBIX, one of open protocols, was developed and data modeling and communication protocols of IEC 61850-7-42 based DER and ESS which apply the module to the customers who have DER and ESS were designed. Also the XML-based distributed database middleware was designed. The proposed modeling and protocols were applied to the building in which commercial DER products and the effectiveness of the proposed data modeling and the communication protocol were evaluated.

  • An EVSE and the EV exchange XML formatted communication messages with each other, whose structure is described by the V2G CI schema in the ISO/IEC 15118 international standard, and the EVSE and the power grid exchange messages based on SCL file with each other, whose structure is described by SCL schema in the IEC 61850 international standard. Because XML files can be restructured by XSLT, V2G messages can be transformed to/from SCL files using XSLT. In this study, the two schemas are analyzed and compared in order for the restructuring of the two differently structured XML instances. As a result, two XSL scripts can be produced for the transformation between XML files conforming ISO/IEC 15118 V2G CI schema and IEC 61850 SCL schema respectively to avoid manual data mapping which can happen in every application development cases.

  • 전력산업분야는 스마트그리드 표준체계 및 고도화된 정보통신 인프라의 도입과 보안 그리고 분산전력 등에 대한 신기술 도입에 의해서 급격한 변화기를 맞이하고 있다. 현재 미국과 EU에서는 세계시장을 겨냥해서 스마트그리드의 국제표준화를 주도하고 있으며, 제3세계에서는 전력설비 시장의 지속적 성장이 예상되고 있다. 이에 국내에서도 국제 경쟁력 확보 및 신성장동력 창출을 목표로 연구가 진행 중이다. 전력체계의 운영망과 별개의 시험망 구성이 필요하며, 그 시험망을 통한 검증을 위해 시험망내 표준규격의 통신환경의 설계 및 기능검증은 매우 중요한 요소이다. 본 논문에서는 시험평가망 구성이후 평가를 위해 사용할 수 있는 주요 Component의 설계과정 중의 일부인 IEC 61850기반의 MMS 통신 환경구성 및 기능검증을 위한 연구결과에 대해 설명한다.

Design of an Algorithm for the Validation of SCL in Digital Substations

  • The substation is a critical node in the power network where power is transformed in the power generation, transmission and distribution system. The IEC 61850 is a global standard which proposes efficient substation automation by defining interoperable communication and data modelling techniques. In order to achieve this level of interoperability and automation, the IEC 61850 (Part 6) defines System Configuration description Language (SCL). The SCL is an XML based file format for defining the abstract model of primary and secondary substation equipment, communications systems and also the relationship between them. It enables the interoperable exchange of data during substation engineering by standardizing the description of applications at different stages of the engineering process. To achieve the seamless interoperability, multi-vendor devices are required to adhere completely to the IEC 61850. This paper proposes an efficient algorithm required for verifying the interoperability of multi-vendor devices by checking the adherence of the SCL file to specifications of the standard. Our proposed SCL validation algorithm consists of schema validation and other functionalities including information model validation using UML data model, the Vendor Defined Extension model validation, the User Defined Rule validation and the IED Engineering Table (IET) consistency validation. It also integrates the standard UCAIUG (Utility Communication Architecture International Users Group) Procedure validation for quality assurance testing. Our proposed algorithm is not only flexible and efficient in terms of ensuring interoperable functionality of tested devices, it is also convenient for use by system integrators and test engineers.
