  • IEC 61850 표준은 변전소 자동화 시스뎀을 추상적 객체지향 개념으로 모델링 하였다. 표준의 가장 큰 장점은 변전소 자동화 시스템을 위한 정보 모델과 서비스 모델에 해당되는 응용 프로그램 부분을 실제 통신 프로토콜과 분리하여 정의한 것으로 응용 레벨에 비해 빠르게 발전하는 통신 기술들을 쉽게 적용할 수 있게 하였다. 본 논문은 정보 모델과 서비스 모델에 관련된 추상적인 통신 서비스 인터페이스(ACSI, Communication Service Interface) 모델에 대해 설명한다.

  • This paper describes a compact Iron-cored Electronic Current Transformer(ECT) based on IEC 61850. The ECT developed in this study has the feature of designing the current transformer with a compact iron-core, compensating error due to the nonlinear characteristic of Iron-core, and applying IEC 61850 9-2 for sampled value(SMV). We verify the performance of the innovative product developed in the study in KERI and test the performance of digital communication in the lab.

  • This paper presents the overview of development of substation automation system. The prototypes of SA system are developed in first phase, and being enhanced the performance in second phase. In this research, the project was classified into three projects which are the development of intelligent electronic devices, the development of operation system and communication network in substation, and the development of technology to verify the compatibility of IEC 61850. As a result of this research, the domestic-made SA system are operated and tested for the performance in 154kV substation and/or test-bed in KEPCO PT Center.

  • The IEC 61850 protocol proposed for the interoperability between IEDs(intelligent electronic devices) adopts the prioritized switched ethernet as its communication channel because substation bus is utilized to exchange both real-time and non real-time messages. The prioritized switched ethernet uses IEEE 802.1Q/p QoS(Quality of Service) in addition to IEEE 802.3 ethernet to enhance the real-time characteristics. However, IEEE 802.1Q/p QoS has priority-blocking problem that occurs when higher-priority frame transmission request during lower-priority frame transmission. To resolve this problem, this paper proposes P(Preemptive)-Ethernet. P-Ethernet uses the modified IEEE 802.1Q/p frame format and new priority preemption mechanism. This paper also implements P-Ethernet controller using FPGA (Virtex-4) and MicroBlaze processor. From the implementation results, P-Ethernet controller shows a improved latency and jitter of transmission period compare to the normal ethernet controller.

  • IEC 61850 is a new approach international standard which is applicable to Substation Automation System (SAS) and defines the communication between intelligent electric devices (IEDs) in the substation and the related system requirements. It already has a significant impact on the development of different devices or systems used in substation. Conformance claims and the establishment of their validity are important parts of the acceptance of systems and equipment. This paper introduces the conformance testing, mapping of IEC 61850 services and MMS services, and in case study part it gives the example of testing OCR IED.

  • IEC 61850 based substation automation system is operating with Generic Object Oriented Substation Event message when an IED need to send an important signal to other IEDs or receive the signals from another IED such as trip and interlock. So interoperability of substation automation system may be assured throughout the verification of IED GOOSE. This paper shows a testing contents for GOOSE subscription and publish of IEC 61850 based IED and describes how to analysis the result of GOOSE testing. Now domestic IED completed by GOOSE test of this study are working in KEPCO test field.

  • 전기차 충전 장치가 전기차로부터 ISO/IEC 15118 국제 표준을 따르는 XML 형식의 통신 메시지를 받아 IEC 61850 국제 표준의 SCL (Substation Configuration Language)로 구성되는 논리 노드를 통해 통신 메시지를 전력 계통으로 보낸다. 역방향 통신 메시지의 경우에는 그 역순으로 진행된다. ISO/IEC 15118 국제 표준이 XML 형식을 스키마로 규정하고 있고 IEC 61850 국제 표준이 SCL 형식을 스키마로 규정하고 있으며 두 스키마를 변환하여 ISO/IEC 15118 통신 메시지와 IEC 61850 통신 메시지를 상호 변환할 수 있다.

IEC 61850 기반 후비보호계전시스템 보호협조 개선방안 (Improved Coordination Method for Back-up Protection Schemes Based on IEC 61850)

  • A distance relay scheme is commonly used for backup protection. This scheme, called a step distance protection, is comprised of 3 steps for graded zones having different operating time. As for the conventional step distance protection scheme, Zone 2 can exceed the ordinary coverage excessively in case of a transformer protection relay especially. In this case, there can be overlapped protection area from a backup protection relay and, therefore, malfunctions can occur when any fault occurs in the overlapped protection area. Distance relays and overcurrent relays are used for backup protection generally, and both relays have normally this problem, the maloperation, caused by a fault in the overlapped protection area. Corresponding to an IEEE standard, this problem can be solved with the modification of the operating time. On the other hand, in Korea, zones are modified to cope with this problem in some specific conditions. These two methods may not be obvious to handle this problem correctly because these methods, modifying the common rules, can cause another coordination problem. To overcome this problem clearly, this paper describes an improved backup protection coordination scheme using an IEC 61850-based distance relay for transformer backup protection. IEC 61850-based IED(Intelligent Electronic Device) and the network system based on the kernel 2.6 LINUX are realized to verify the proposed method. And laboratory tests to estimate the communication time show that the proposed coordination method is reliable enough for the improved backup protection scheme.

  • 디지털 기술 기반의 차세대 변전시스템의 시스템 성능 검증을 위해 변전소 전력설비의 보호에 있어 가장 중요한 보호요소 중 하나인 차단기 실패 보호 IED를 대상으로 하는 IEC 61850 시스템 성능 시험 절차서를 구현하였다. 디지털 변전소에 대한 통신규격이 단일화되고 시스템이 디지털화됨에 따라 IED들은 상호 통신이 가능해지게 되었으며, 따라서 단일 IED의 전기 접점을 통해 이루어지던 예전의 시험방식에서 네트워크를 통한 시스템 차원의 시험방식으로 변화가 필요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 차단기 실패 보호 IED를 시스템적으로 시험할 수 있도록 UML을 이용한 성능시험절차서의 구현내용을 보여주고자 한다.

  • The CMD(Condition Monitoring & Diagnosis) System is used to monitor and analyze the PD(Partial Discharge), Arc, Temperature, Pressure, Gas in Oil and so on for reliability and availability of the substation. Although this system comes into the spotlight as the forecast and management of the failure and fault, there are some problems. For example, the unified standard was not defined, and the effective management of the layed communication network does not performed, limitation of physical space, etc. To resolve above problems, this paper suggests the IEC61850 compatible eCMD system architecture for monitoring and analyzing the CMD factor in substations. The suggested eCMD system consists of CMD-LU(Condition Monitoring & Diagnosis-Local Unit), IED(Intelligent Electronic Device), and engineering centers. The IEC61850 is the international standard that defines communication networks and system in substation.
