  • This article deals with the problem of testing mean when the coefficient of variation in normal distribution is known. We propose Bayesian hypothesis testing procedures for the normal mean under the noninformative prior. The noninformative prior is usually improper which yields a calibration problem that makes the Bayes factor to be defined up to a multiplicative constant. So we propose the objective Bayesian hypothesis testing procedures based on the fractional Bayes factor and the intrinsic Bayes factor under the reference prior. Specially, we develop intrinsic priors which give asymptotically same Bayes factor with the intrinsic Bayes factor under the reference prior. Simulation study and a real data example are provided.

  • This article deals with the problem of testing the equality of the location parameters in the half-normal distributions. We propose Bayesian hypothesis testing procedures for the equality of the location parameters under the noninformative prior. The non-informative prior is usually improper which yields a calibration problem that makes the Bayes factor to be defined up to arbitrary constants. This problem can be deal with the use of the fractional Bayes factor or intrinsic Bayes factor. So we propose the default Bayesian hypothesis testing procedures based on the fractional Bayes factor and the intrinsic Bayes factors under the reference priors. Simulation study and an example are provided.

  • This article deals with the problem of testing for the equality of the shape parameters in two inverse Weibull distributions. We propose Bayesian hypothesis testing procedures for the equality of the shape parameters under the noninformative prior. The noninformative prior is usually improper which yields a calibration problem that makes the Bayes factor to be defined up to a multiplicative constant. So we propose the default Bayesian hypothesis testing procedures based on the fractional Bayes factor and the intrinsic Bayes factors under the reference priors. • We propose some properties of fuzzy p-value and fuzzy significance level to the test statistics for the fuzzy hypotheses testing. Appling the principle of agreement index, we suggest two method for fuzzy hypothesis testing by fuzzy rejection region and fuzzy p-value with fuzzy hypothesis to separately ${\alpha}-level$.

  • Statistical hypothesis tests are important for quantifying answers to questions about samples of data. The Step Process of Statistical Hypothesis Testing; state the null hypothesis, State the alternate hypothesis, State the alpha level, Find the z-score associated with alpha level, Find the test statistic using this formula, If the calculated t distribution value from the data is larger than the t distribution value of alpha level, then you are in the Rejection region and you can reject the Null Hypothesis with ($1-{\alpha}$) level of confidence.

  • The scientific inquiry enterprise consists of formulating hypotheses, testing hypotheses, evaluating evidence, and revising hypothesis. Scientific inquiry in the science classrooms requires students' background experience and knowledge with the phenomenon in order to ask appropriate questions, identify and define variables operationally, formulate hypotheses, and design clear and complete experiment. The ability to test hypotheses has been postulated to play a central role in cognitive processes. The purpose of this study was to analyze what the change of the quantity and quality of the hypothesis, the rejecting or accepting of the hypothesis, and the use results in the repetitional hypothesis activity experiments. To examine the problems, this study analyzed 5 classes which were designed and administered to 16 students of the 7th grade. The results of this study showed that students preferred the engineering method to scientific method and the quality of a second hypothesis got low. The quality of the hypothesis came to be higher through a repetitional hypothesis and the number of hypothesis was reduced. The results of the experiments did not play central roles in revising hypotheses and accepting or rejecting hypothesis.

  • This paper suggests a new criterion for testing the general linear hypothesis about coefficients in multivariate growth curve model. It is developed from a Bayesian point of view using the highest posterior density region methodology. Likelihood ratio test criterion(LRTC) by Khatri(1966) results as an approximate special case. It is shown that under the simple case of vague prior distribution for the multivariate normal parameters a LRTC-like criterion results; but the degrees of freedom are lower, so the suggested test criterion yields more conservative test than is warranted by the classical LRTC, a result analogous to that of Berger and Sellke(1987). Moreover, more general(non-vague) prior distributions will generate a richer class of tests than were previously available.

  • Let $p_1$ and $p_2$ be the proportions of two populations. To test the hypothesis $H_0 : p_1 = p_2$, we usually use the $x^2$ statistic, the large sample binomial statistic Z, and the Generalized Likelihood Ratio statistic-2log $\lambda$developed based on different mathematical rationale, respectively. Since testing the above hypothesis is equivalent to testing whether two populations follow the common Bernoulli distribution, one may also test the hypothesis by comparing 1 with the ratio of each density estimate and the hypothesized common density estimate, called comparison density, which was devised by Parzen(1988). We show that the above traditional test statistics ate actually estimating the measure of distance between the true densities and the common density under $H_0$ by representing them with the comparison density.
